Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

what's your budget for your music setup ? i will say buy double din pioneer headunit without touch ( 8k rs) sony or jbl 4 channel basic amplifier ( 5.5k rs) any bass tube ( 4.5k to 5.5k ) and 2 component speakers for the front (4-5k rs) 2 normal speakers for the rear door (2k rs) , wiring (1k to 1.5k) and labor plus additional fitting charges (1.5k)

so minimum 25k rs.

Get a single DIN JVC or Pioneer. They will cost the same as Sony and will have a great quality, both in terms of build and audio. Which basstube do you have? 4k is okay if you are getting with bill/warranty and has basic Aux and USB options. Speakers would cost around 4k for all round coaxials. Go for JBL, Pioneer or Hertz for speakers.

My suggestions -
1DIN Pioneer/JVC with Aux, USB - 4k
Front coaxials JBL/Pioneer - 3.5k
Rear cheap coaxials Pioneer/JBL - 1.5K
Your existing basstube - 0
4 Channel Amp JBL/Pioneer/Kenwood/JVC - 4.5k
Wiring - 1.5k

Total - Rs. 15k (try to negotiate hard, buy all stuff from one shop and get labour charges waived off - in worst case give 200-300 bucks)

You may also require spacer rings which would be another 500 or so.

In fact, it would be great if you create a thread for ICE, so I could shower all my ICE suggestions on you!

@allhyundaicars - Congratulations on the car. The colour looks brilliant in person, I saw one a few days back and it looks better than the i10's red/maroon colour.

Actually, No. If you're adding an amplifier just for 4 coaxials, the marginal improvement doesn't make any sense. Coaxials have limited capabilities and amplifying them doesn't make much sense. If possible, I recommend skipping rear stage altogether and going for components for front with that money, as it will do justice to the amplified signals from the amplifier. Rear coaxials can be added later and their absence won't be felt much if you have a basstube at the back.

I do not have technical knowledge in case of music systems. However, I will vote for music system by Pioneer over Sony. I have Pioneer system in my Wagon R and now the system is 10 yrs old and its still running fine.
My limited knowledge in this field tells me that Pioneer is way better than Sony. Its my personal view though.

@ ice wise -yeah that's whay i thought.it will be better to invest in components. let's waot for his response.
just noticed your signature [thumbsup] i too upgraded my verna's system which you can check in my verna's thread.

@auto pilot - indeed pioneer HU are good [:D] i bought same models for santro and i10 and both are running fine since 6 years. although the source button in santro works only when pressed hard.

Thanks man. I too ended up spending way over my budget, like you did with your Verna (over planned install). I had seen your Verna thread a long time back. [thumbsup]

OT - Just noticed that there was a typo in my signature. Focal Solid 1 I have instead of 4!

will check your replies in the ice threads :p
let's not go more OT.

i dont know if this is an issue or not. i am habitual of going over uneven roads at high speeds. don't feel much jerks on the verna but in the figo when the road level drops a little bit and i am going around 50 kmph the front suspensions make a huge noise. on the same roads the verna doesnt make any kind of noises. is this beacuse of stiffer suspension ?

felt like reporting this.

the accessory socket remains on even after locking the car.

my dash camera remained on for about 90 minutes, called the service center and he confirmed that it's like that only and to use the dash cam i'd have to take direct connection from the battery.

Yes the accessory socket remains on even when ignition is off.
It is common among all ford cars (comin from a 1.6 petrol fiesta).

Dash cam?
I have no idea what that is.

Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

thanks for your reply. i even asked in the ecosport thread because i thought the same.

dash camera is used to record all the events happening in front of your car. for me it's a very useful thing to have. god forbid if something happens you will have a video proof.

in verna i didn't have to unplug the camera charger and it used to start as soon as i start the car. will have to unplug the camera everytime in the figo.

Thanks for throwing some light on that.
I've had gopro cams attached to my helmet when riding. XD

Anyways. .
Check this out
Seems like ford have silently upgraded rear headrests to adjustable ones from the mid october batches.
No mention of it on the website though.
Found this on another thread.
