Figo face lift caught testing again
I think Ford is readying face lift one or two months prior to new Swift launch
I think there is fair chance that Ford will be adding a SYNC 3 infotainment system from Trend variant on wards and new Dragon 1.2l 96 HP motor for petrol manual and 6 speed torque converter AT for Figo with 1.5/1.2l engine like in Ecosport

IMO they need to work on the below things too:
1. Better instrument cluster (twin pod like in other cars) and better MID
2. Better dashboard design
3. Better plastics on dashboard and door trims (some plastics are creaky when pressed)
4. Storage on rear doors
5. Better frontal visibility for short drivers
6. The angular seat base (front) is not to everyone's liking (they are very comfortable though)
7. Better QC on tires, headlight reflectors etc.
8. 15 inch tires atleast on the Titanium, and Titanium + (currently only Sports trim has it)
9. Slightly better gear shift quality will be appreciated by the mass public who has driven the Swift, Baleno or an i10

1 & 2 will most likely get addressed with introduction of SYNC 3 system
And 7 & 8 too could be solved, rest are likely to remain same

re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel) | 5th Service Update | 40,000 Kms: Ownership Review

Had a short holiday trip to Wayanad last week on the Figo.
Thodupuzha (my hometown) > Angamaly > Thrissur > Kunnamkulam > Kozhikode > Sulthan bathery (One of the major towns in Wayanad)
Started on 07 Dec and reached back home post midnight on 09 Dec.
Total distance covered - 860 kms
Car odo at 23k kms now.

Car performed exceptionally well with 4 people on board and luggage. Can't express in words how effortless it is to drive this car on the ghats. No need to keep the engine on boil on the inclines, upshift early - no complaints. And, make sure you are above 1500 RPM in any gear you can zoom past almost any other car on the road in a jiffy. The inner roads in Wayanad were in pretty bad condition with big potholes, never did the car's underbody scrap anywhere. I was very cautious while negotiating the potholes nevertheless :)
Family was very comfortable inside the car and no complaints there too.

Couple of issues with the car now; Need to pay a visit to service centre to address them:
- the noise from the front on hitting potholes has become more prominent now.
- there are some minor creaking sound from the dash and doors

Sharing a picture from the trip.

Facelift for Figo only by mid 2018, probably June July 2018.

re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel) | 5th Service Update | 40,000 Kms: Ownership Review

Hi all! Its been a long time since I went through this thread. Logged in today to share a recent incident with my figo.

Yesterday whilst driving through heavy Chandigarh traffic in the evening, I heard a loud snap sound from the gearbox console, as if something metal just flew off with force. Stopped the car to see if something is damaged. Couldn't spot anything in the cabin. But now my gear has lost its tightness and springy behaviour with which it used to slot. I have to carefully slot in 3rd now, either it grinds, or slots in 5th if I am not careful. It is loose in the neutral position as well, doesn't come to the centre. By what I have searched on google, I believe its a bushing gone broke which needs a replacement. Any comments and suggestions would be welcome.

Looks decent. But the same old speedo dials? [surprise]
And, looks like they have added a MARUTI-like MID toggle switch on the speedo that sticks out like a sore thumb.
This is an international variant (LHD). Not sure what all updates Indian version will be getting.

Actually I dont feel this interior will date well when it comes to looks and style but functionality wise, this interior seems perfect and much needed for current gen Figo and Aspire
Also the crucial bits like the front head lamps reflector area and rear also has been changed for the better
All Ford needs to do is plonk in the 1.5l dragon engine mated with 6 speed TC AT like in Ecosport to get a SMART start to its automatic sales journey in India
Do remember the Figo and Aspire still are priced less than the Indias biggest selling car SWift and Dzire, so we cannot expect more than this from Ford as already the engine and the dynamics aspects of Figo and Aspire still miles better than current gen SWift and the new Heartect Dzire

Also, they need to bring in a better engine on the Petrol manual too. I do not think they will introduce the 1.5L Dragon in the cheaper manual variant. May be they will do so on the Auto variant like you said.

A new 1.2l i3 Dragon petrol will be used in Figo facelift instead of the current 1.2 i4 TiVCT engine,
This engine is expected to produce 94 HP and 120 NM torque and better in mileage. As per reports from Brazilian website Ford is aiming 21-22 kmpl highway mileage for this new engine.

The Automatic most probably will get the 1.5l 123 HP Dragon engine mated with 6F15 Torque convertwr AT albeit one without the paddle shifters to keep costs in check and is aiming for 18-19 kmpl highway mileage for Brazilian conditions.

So all signs as of now seems good and competent enough to take on the mighty 2018 Swift head on.

ANy update on this issue, cant really say whats wrong here, a broken shift cable to transfer case or cracked synchro busing is what I suspect,
Should be able to be taken care of by Ford service team, they will remove the gear box housing plastic and repair the shift cable if thats the issue, the synchro bushing etc are works that must be done underneath the gearbox.

Yeah, it was a broken spring cable in the gear lever assembly gone broke! Thankfully, the whole gear lever assembly, costing about 2900 INR was replaced under warranty free of cost. Would recommend anyone living in and around Chandigarh Saluja service centre, they are really good people. I would like to add that extended warranties do help in these situations. I am planning to further extend my warranty after the 3 year time as well. Got a quote of INR 10,500 for the same for one year for a distance upto 1 lakh kms

Do you have any images of the broken gear box assembly ?
And did the dealer say its an one off even or have they seen this issue before on other Fords ?
Because spring cables or control cable dont break that easily
Dont know which specific part they are mentioning to here,

Anyway good to hear its resolved and of course extended warranty is a MUST in India for all car brands except maybe Toyota
