Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel) | 3rd Service Update | 20,000 Kms: Ownership Review

Good Morning!
Sunil here, a newbie to the forum, aspiring and aspire :-)
Wanted information regarding the center locking on the doors.
The Doors get Auto locked after hitting 20kmph, do they stay locked after 20KMPH?, or can the doors be opened at any given time at any given speed from the inside.
Inputs will be of great help,
Thank you
Yes as everyone said it gets auto locked at 20kmph, even if you unlock it at stand still, once you gain 20km speed it does get auto locked once again! The best and safe place for children will be the back seat and with the usage of child lock, the aspiring aspire will be at its best!

While Red is on top of the list, the dilemma is because every one at home want a color of their choice!!![roll]
The Only accessories from FORD that I have planned to install are the Reverse parking sensors and the rear parking camera with the display built into the mirror. The Other accessory planned is a dash cam.
One Query i have to the Figo/aspire owners who have installed the rear camera is... "Does the mirror have day/night option? is it Automatic or manual?"
Do any of you feel any other accessory is REALLY required?

I read on another forum that the automatic dimming doesent work in aspire. Dont know why.
So if you have a choice go with the model without automatic option.
I installed autocop and i can't use the day night feature.

I found an aspire with touchscreen fitted on the custom fascia, is void the warranty? or what should take care of to remain in warranty for the entire period. any Idea?

Hello everyone!
Here is my latest update on Figo TDCi Trend

Distance covered so far : 32,000 KM (one year old car)
Average Mileage : City with AC ON all the time : between 18-19
: Highway with AC ON all the time : 23 (speeds <= 120 KMPH)
Recently got my 30k service done. however, i started feeling wobbling sounds from the car, especially in lower speeds (~20 KMPH). I got my wheel alignment and balancing during 30k service and after that, went for a long drive. Post that, i started experiencing these weird sounds / Vibrations from the front bonnet. Any idea what causes these sounds?

P. S: I was told to change the brake liners/pads as i keep hearing sounds while applying brakes. My Service advisor says the life of brake liners is 30k. is this true?

Thanks

that's a lot of running. do you mind sharing the bill here (hide your personal details)
your car is in warranty so get it checked once more with the sc.

there's no hard and fast rule for the life of break pads. what's your ratio of city:highway use ?
my verna's brake pads lasted 30k (another tai member's verna's lasted 60k+)but it was 90% city driving and if you are getting sound as soon as you apply brakes you need to change them asap.
most brake pads have these type of indicators telling us when to change the pads.

Well, I am yet to get the bill [roll]
Servicing was done on 1st July and they were not working on printers on GST day (their software was not updated with GST rates itseems). I am going this Saturday to get the bill as well as brake pad replacement.
Bill amount was 6,700 (this excludes regular body wash, wheel balancing and alignment)

Sound from brakes is not that prominent. SA told during the 30k service that I can use them for 5k KM more. however, my brother insisted to change them (he owns a verna)

My City : Highway ratio would be 90:10. My daily commute itself is 100KM! [cry]

Hey! Any aspire owners been adding the rear spoiler? i do not recall seeing any rear spoiler on any aspire here in Bangalore. I don't see that as a accessory at ford website either.
If some one's got it fitted, can you be kind enough to share some pics please?

Hi Harrish,

I hope sounds / Vibrations is from the front "bonnet" not from break pedal. I had the same issue long back and the root cause is due to bush misplacement of radiator/a.c radiator.

Just to replicate the issue. Apply the hand break , hold the clutch, Start the engine, put the transmission on first gear, slowly release the clutch(half clutch). You can feel the vibration.

Next time keep the bonnet open and ask someone to look for the source of noise/vibration.

Hope this helps!

Regards,
Partha.

Hi Folks!
I Was initially planning to change stock oem tyres (assuming they were MRF) but after the PDI yesterday, i see that my Aspire has Apollo Alnac tyres.
I do not happen to see any reviews / reference to these alnac tyres any where, i get to see alnac 4G and 4GS only. the tyres are marked ONLY as apollo alnac. And they are June 2017 manufactured tyres. the Apollo tyre home page does not list them either.
So what are these only "Apollo Alnac" tyres? and is it worth changing them to the most obvious choice - the XM2's ? 185 65 R14 only. no upsize.
Inputs highly appreciated! [:)] Thanks in advance!!

A spoiler on an aspire is an overkill, it's got only 100 horses, that's not a lot and the car as it is is good enough to do 180. Nothing extra is needed to improve the air flow or downforce. Aesthetically maybe you can install it but it'll only make the car heavier.
