Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel) | 3rd Service Update | 20,000 Kms: Ownership Review

Just went to a Ford Showroom in Bangalore, Cauvery Ford and saw new next-gen Ford Figo. It looks fabulous and amazing. You guys should take a look on it [:)]
I started reading your post with lots of interest thinking that Ford has released a face lift to the Figo! [:)]
Isn't it the same Figo that is currently on sale?

Good Morning!
Sunil here, a newbie to the forum, aspiring and aspire :-)
Wanted information regarding the center locking on the doors.
The Doors get Auto locked after hitting 20kmph, do they stay locked after 20KMPH?, or can the doors be opened at any given time at any given speed from the inside.
Inputs will be of great help,
Thank you

Yes doors stay locked after 20kmph.
Unfortunately yes the doors can be opened by pulling the handle. That's a safety hazard so don't even touch the handle if your car is in motion.

It's actually a decent safety feature that let's you exit the car when there is an emergency but yes, to answer your question it stays locked after 20 kmph and can be opened whenever you want to, regardless of whether the car is in motion or not.

It could have been better if it just unlocked the car by pulling it once and opened the door when pulled twice.

well, it MAY be a safety feature, if there are'nt any kids at home, but, with a three year old kid at home, the SAME SAFETY feature is making my wife think twice / thrice on buying the car!!!
I just hope there is a work around for it (Auto Cop or something like that? which does not void the warranty? ). I have not come across such a thing though in any of the discussions earlier in the forums!

You can turn on child lock on the rear doors. But then nobody can open it from inside. Still it's better to come out and open the door for the kid.

I am not sure if you are aware of the child lock feature on the rear doors.
If we turn this on by rotating the small lock on the rear doors, then one cannot open the doors from inside.

Not a problem sir , like satson and AHC have already voiced out, you obviously have the child lock put in place for exactly this reason, plus you've also taken the pseudonym sunny"aspire". Wouldn't look nice if you switched to a Dzire or Amaze now would it? lol.

Ha Ha Ha!! Come hell or high water, aspire for me it is!! No two ways about it!![:D]
Of course, I do know about the child lock and may end up being a chauffeur Opening / holding rear doors , but the aspire it is for me!!
The Figo was the original candy i was ASPIRING for, but, too many discussions about the left/ right pull issue, put me off.

Use child lock on only one rear door, and make sure the child sit near that door . that is how I solved it .
Shifting gear is hard . after I drive Suzuki or Honda , I feel this gear shift has become harder.

A few updates on left pulling issue - Figo Sports.

The next day after the first alignment at mrf, went to known tyre shop to check out alignment, the reading were quite different from the first one and they had done some adjustments which did not solve the issue, but after few kms of driving i again felt the left side(not pulling) going issue.

After the first 2 alignments, i felt there was no change and it still it was moving left. One of my dear friend in Pondicherry who works with Manatec had asked me to bring the car and said lets check it out and analyze. The car was raised and everything was checked, alignment the angles and almost everything they could check out, My friend ilango had said that everything is perfect and at right angles, he did a td prior to this and he came to a conclusion saying its the tyre, as the tyre when swapped, the car was moving to the right. Will attach pics for reference. So we went to another alignment shop from the company outlet to check another reading, the reading was different because they had the normal figo reading and not for the sports. The person who drove my car knew what could be the problem and they had already adjusted the toe in for the car. While returning from pondy, with heavy rains, the car was driving straight and my friends and i concluded that the rain has corrected the pull and all was better.[lol]
Just now happened to check. The wheel angle of this vehicle is fine and nothing is suspicious. hence it has to be the tyres.

The rear wheels though not adjustable , the angle are perfect.

Long back classic case is of Punto and the company asked to add shims of different values at the rear. Lets wait and watch.

Haha Ilango ji! we still havent confirmed yet. [lol][lol][lol] As you say hope its all about the tyres! Alignment check is pending still. But now at low speeds it does seem to go straight( not always) but at higher speeds it pulls to the left prominently! Thanks for all the help you have been providing!
