But if the subframe is the issue, wont the alignment readings be different? or atleast a little off? 1989 could you please let me know where you read them, i would also like to read a little about it more.
https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a4...-subframe-alignment-"equalize"-camber-331269/
A misaligned subframe can pull a car to one side because of constant addition by negative camber, so I guess thats the issue, maybe the subframes in new Figo itself has some issue, like a small manufacturing defect or alignment defect, so I guess that could be a reason for left or right pull

I don't have left pull issue. Because few days after last service and alignment my car now pulls to the right. Not exactly a pull but need a constant hand on the steering else it will veer towards the right. But then if the road angle slopes down towards the left then it pulls to left as well. And depending on how strong the wind and truck traffic is it will pull left or right as well due to wind force. And I believe its the stupid over light steering which is great for carving corners but feels crap dead straight is the culprit.

BTW any one got that steering hose issue recall by ford for cars from 2004 to 2012 or whatever? I mean come on it took them so long to realise it needs a recall? So I believe Ford is going to admit recall for our cars after 2025. Ford India needs a spanking for this

This is a proprietary recall, that means not all car needs the attention, a few out of 1000s might have this gone wrong, same thing happened before for Ford Figo between 2010 and 2013, ie the rear twist beam recall, I was one among the affected cars but at the dealership they raised the car and checked for faults but my car was set up fine, so didnt have any need for change, but on same day I saw another Figo that had to have a rear twist beam changed, it took 1 hour to replace that for the technicians,
This usually happens because of manual error or machine error while assembling, not every car might not need this steering hose replaced.

Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel) | 3rd Service Update | 20,000 Kms: Ownership Review

Hi All,

I have strange issue with my Aspire Titanium TDCi and an even stranger solution (suggested by FASS though)

The mobile dock doesn't hold my phone tightly, means I can place my phone there but the upper lip won't hold it tightly. Mine is a Redmi Note 3 and also tried with other phones in household viz., mine is a 5.5inch phone while the rest are all 5"

When I took my car to FASS, the service engineer tried with his phone which is a 3.5" which held up tightly. and he told mobile dock is only designed to hold smaller size phone. For me, it sounded absolutely rubbish and spoke to the Service Manager. He too tried in my car and another Aspire which came for service and declared it is indeed the case. Mobile dock can only hold smaller sized phones and not the 5 or 5.5"

This defies any logic. How many still uses a 3.5" phone or are they just bluffing to avoid doing a repair work.

Please advice

Even my s6 doesn't fit tightly and on bumpy roads it fell twice. Dont know any solution to this.

Also i noticed the glass inside the left headlamp is burning because of the bulb. Other members too have faced this issue. Will get it replaced under warranty. I hope they do it without any trouble because the headlamp has 2 deep scratches.

More than the issues, it is the response that I get from FASS which is putting me off.

Tyre Noise Response: Sir, every Aspire car has this noise. If it is an MRF, we can replace but yours is Apollo so nothing can be done sir.

Suspension Noise: (well the noise is sporadic. Not very prominent but it does occur) FASS technician accepted there is noise but says ' You can drive another Aspire from showroom sir, that will also have the same noise. That too your's is not a continuous one, it just occurs occasionally so it is fine'

Headlight Issue : Again standard response. 'Every Aspire has similar headlight sir, we can't upgrade or help much here'. When I showed them a video I took where there is a distinct dark spot in the high beam, response was ' sir we can only do right or left adjustment. We don't do angle adjustments as it will void warranty. No other customer has complained like this before so we don't know what to do for this issue'

Mobile dock: as stated above

I'm sick and tired of this FASS people. Very insipid and incompetent. I'm much worried if they will ever care should there be a major issue, or are they even equipped to handle one?

worse still, the service manager gave me his gyan ' Sir, car is full of moving parts. When you ride on the road, these noises are common'

It was then I totally lost control and gave him a mouthful. I have owned and driven Maruti (800/Alto/WagonR/Dzire), Hyundai (i10), Fiat (Punto), Tata (Vista) and my brother's Polo. Have never come across such pathetic ASS, not even Tata or Fiat!

My car is about to complete 1 year and its time to renew the premium. The above renewal quote I received is from my existing insurer Future Genrali. The IDV is for Rs. 456000/- with Nil dep + loss of key+loss of personal belonging. Also includes tyre cover for 2 yrs. The quote is given is Rs. 14628/-. I checked in policybazaar and all and havent found a better quote at that IDV and price other than maybe some new player. I am not sure about Future Genrali in claim situations though. So should I go ahead or go for a Ford preferred Insurer? Anyone have experience with Future Genrali?

I have used future Generali for couple of years but haven't claimed anything. I normally buy policy from a known insurance agent and as per him they are good at claims settlement.
You Can check with future genarli if they have cashless facility at any of your preferred service centers and if yes you are good, I do not see any need to go with Ford preferred insurers as long as your insurer is having cashless facility at your preferred Ford service centers.

..
The FASS here is slightly better, that's it.
Tire noise: mine were MRF and had done 15k on them, got them replaced to Michelin where I had to pay Rs. 5000 for 4 new tires.
Suspension noise: There is a small "tak tak" noise while going bad tarmac in low speeds. The service centre guys accepted it and checked the suspension and joints. They replied that no issues found [roll]
Headlight: In my recent visit, they advised to take a photo of the reflectors now and check after couple of months. Not satisfied with the response again.
Mobile dock: No issues so far with both my Windows and Android phones which are both 5 inchers.

Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel) | 3rd Service Update | 20,000 Kms: Ownership Review

Friends,

Have completed 5000 KM on my Ford Aspire. Just after the first service, went on a vacation: Chennai - Valparai -Athirapally -Cochin-Chennai.

So had a proper highway drive and below are my observations:

Pros:
1. Though have spent most of the time behind the wheels that too on the curvey ghat roads, I didn't feel much fatigue. Driving was stress free as it is easy to manoeuvre the car. Guess should thank the lighter steering wheel
2. Didn't had much of a spirited drive nor sedate but drove consistently around 110 - 120kph in the highway and mostly around 70 - 80 kph in the ghats.
3. Overtaking on highways was easy but I didn't feel it to be super responsive as claimed (read in many reviews that there is almost zero turbo lag)
4. Was mostly able to negotiate hairpin bends and steep climbs in 3rd gear (in my previous cars need to be in 2nd gear or downshift further)
5. Overall mileage for the entire 2000KM drive was 19.8 kmpl

Cons:
1. Undoubtedly headlights. Proved how inadequate it was on highways or even poorly lit state highways.
2. Tyre noise - Distinct humming and heavy rumbling noise above 100 (It almost took the pleasure out of driving)
3. Suspension - Yes, there is some tik-tak sound here and there and some sqeaing noise while going over speed bumps. But surprisingly I found it more silent in the ghats rounds which are presumably more pothole ridden

Not much surprise for me here but for 2 scary new issues, or rather is it by design??
1. Underbody scrapped twice on not so high bumps. Car was packed with 4 adults + 1 kid and boot was full too. Really scared me that I literally halted for every bump thereafter and cross them in a zigzag manner
2. Exhaust smoke - does a new car emit black smoke? This was more prevalent while giving deep acceleration from 2nd - 3rd and 3rd-4th gear. I had this issue in my Vista but that was after nearly 80K on the odo and had to do a turbo clean

Please provide your thoughts.

Don't upgrade the bulbs. Many members including me are facing burnt reflector issue because of stock bulbs. If you change them and the same thing happens in your car you won't be able to claim it under warranty.

Does your car have mrf tyres? If yes then you can get them changed free of cost from ford. Just report the issue.

Never faced underbody scrapping in my figo.

Yes even my car emits black smoke under hard acceleration. Because of this i wont be buying a diesel in the future again even if the running is high.

Exhaust smoke is coming because of the carbon deposits, Please do ride in higher rpm once in a 100km or so, It will remove the carbon deposits. Our fuels are not that much pure.

Under body scratch means the body or the rubber beading below the front bumper. If it is later, no worries.

Last but least, regarding the lag you are taking about. It was because the car was below 1450 RPM which is not in the turbo zone, downshift and feel the power. It was amazing me day by day.

No, I am not changing the bulbs fearing the same. Will have to live with it as FASS has literally washed off their hands saying nothing can be done.

Mine are Apollo tyres. If it was MRF, I would have changed it as soon I got delivery. I thought Apollo would be good but doesn't look that way.

I did try that twice but still noticed the black smoke upon hard acceleration. It is little embarrassing on the road though to see your emitting smoke. Need to check with FASS during second service. I hope it isn't anything to do with turbo.

Reg the scrapping, it isn't the rubber bead as it happens every now and then. Here I mentioned about a distinct loud scrap somewhere beneath the rear seat. I hope it is the steel rod that runs horizontally which is scrapping and not necessarily any of the body of the car.
