Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

With this news, Ford need not to speak a word and people have got their answer for questioning the build quality of the Figo Aspire.

BUT

I have a question:
Is it the same car we drive in India? This example is made in Brazil
Yes the Ecosport and the Aspire/Figo hatch or Ka+ are same in India and Brazil, there is minor difference in suspension setup, where the Ka+ gets a stiffer rear spring than the one in India and the boot section is different for Aspire, other than this everything is same, the Kerb wright too is slightly differrnt on account of larger boot for Ka+ sedan. Another difference is the motor, the 1.5l ToVCT motor used does have different catalytic converter and EGR too since the Ka+ can run on ethanol as well as petrol.
The biggest highlight I noticed is structural stability, the chassis didnt break or the A pillars didnt bend like in some other cars showing the strength of high strength steel chassis.

Another plus for Figo.

This is now looking more tempting to me. Backseat fixed headrest remains the only sour point now. Hope it is corrected as well.

I have an important question to the guys who bought Ford Figo, did you pay what is called as "Handling charges" I noticed it is there on the onroad price sheet, I asked the SE about this handling charges, he said it is always part of car delivery and it will even be printed at the RTO that there were handling charges, but I read on some of the sites that Handling charges (car transit) is covered by manufacturer, is this true? do I really need to end up paying this handling charges?

@allhyundaicars, Thanks!
I knew there something not right about the handling charges, should I bring this up @FordIndia twitter before the delivery day? as of now the loan is in process and I will only be taking delivery on 1st week of December after down payment.

The handling charges are illegal as per the the Transport commissioner of Kerala.this was published in news papers a week back.As per the news,if any dealerships charges handling charges they will lose their licence. My colleague bought a Baleno from Nexa last week and the did not changed any thing as handling charge.

@crank - Thanks, there have been no such directives in Karnataka/bangalore but It is surely Illigal, I will take this up with Ford India twitter as suggested by allhyundaicars.
@allhyundaicars - Thanks, yes I will do that soon, i don't see this kind of hidden cost is a good thing to any customer - dealer relationship, will fight till it is waived off.

Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

Hello guys, I had booked figo 1.5L Diesel (blue color) on oct 20th, and during the time of booking I was told that the waiting period for the car is 20-22 days. Since it was not too much of a waiting time for me, I went ahead and booked the car and was given a tentative delivery date of 10th of nov. When I finally called my SA on 10th to ask about my delivery, he apologised and informed me that it'll take 20 more days !!!!! I need your help guys, please tell me what to do ? I have already e mailed the HO and I am meeting the GM of my dealership today to discuss about the matter. If there is anything more which I need to keep in mind or points I should consider, please do let me know. You guys seem much more experienced in the car industry and thus I turn to you for advice. Thanks.

I do have similar issue on my booking of Ingot silver. Initially they promised to deliver vehicle by Nov'14 and after several follow ups they said it will take few more days (No exact date of delivery). They insisted me to take grey colour which is ready and available, I said no and stick to the chosen colour. Not sure but if you have any good relation with any politicians or higher officials a call from them to dealer may help out (I have done same for my Royal Enfield and worked out). So just give a try. If not do let us know whether discussing with GM of dealer has helped you out. Also do check Ford has given free insurance + exchange bonus for All new ford figo titanium and + variants from today.

*the front grille is silver painted but in the brochure it's mentioned that the grille will be surrounded by chrome. contacted ford on twitter , waiting for their response
thanks for reading.
Now it is corrected. Trend variant has silver painted outline and grille. Still they have to correct below info. Take a look at below screen shot
Ford figo.png
Titanium variant do not have alloy wheels [:D]when viewed in model comparison.
How come Ford have not noticed and published misleading information in their site.

Good news for New ford figo buyers. We have an ad in our local newspaper providing Free insurance + Exchange bonus of 25000 on titanium and + variants.
Refer below Ad...

Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

When I went for TD one month ago, I was informed that the waiting period for base and ambient model is 2-3 months and trend model & above are available. The waiting period might have increased now. Which model have you guys chosen?

You can try any other dealer, If you have another in your city. No dealer wants to delay the delivery. They might be short of cars due to increased sale and thus waiting is the only option. If GM of dealership is meeting you to discuss the delay, it should be appreciated. He is proactive and cares for his business. You can now push them to give some accessories for free due to delay telling them that you have cancelled 2-3 tours due to this delay. [;)]

Re: New Ford Figo Trend (Diesel): Ownership Review

@carguy - the delay can happen sometimes. either because the car wasn't dispatched on time or because they gave your alloted car to someone else. i dont think it's the second reason. these goof ups can happen , don't let it spoil your mood but wait for your car and be ready to enjoy it [:)]

ask the dealer if they have any other color available. contact a different dealer and and confirm if they have the same color that you want.

tell the dealer that you will shift the booking to the other dealer if he can't deliver the car before 20 days. ask for some freebies for thr delay. don't be shy and ask for 3-4 things [lol] they will give you atleast 2 then.

@ mike - i think even the brochure doesn't have alloy wheels mentioned as a feature and i got a call from ford saying they will correct it which they did.

this is bound to happen. everyone knows we indians love the words "free" and "discounts" in this competitive market the marketing team has to do something to attract potential buyers.

I have booked trend variant. According to Ad about new ford figo it seems that Trend variant has very good enough bookings. May be due to less response to titanium and + variants they have provided free insurance and exchange benefits. I have tried of saying I will cancel my booking but they are OK even to loose a customer[confused].
