So today i checked the car at a new dealership of harpreet ford at prashant vihar near rohini.

I went in the showroom and no one was there to greet me. Showroom was small and just 1 car was displayed and the rest were parked outside.

I saw one guy coming towards the reception, i reached before him but he casually sat and started calling someone. I standed there for 20 seconds and said what the heck will check the car myself.

The seats were flat. Wasn't too uncomfortable but seats with more support would have been nice.
At first glance the quality of plastics on the dashboard didn't seem good.
Liked the central console. Similar to the ecosport.
I adjusted my front seats to my liking and then sat in the back and was happy to have some leg room.

Now there was another person looking at the car and a guy came to explain him all the features. He did attend him and thought i was with him. He offered me a td of the aspire but was getting late so didnt take it.

When going back to my car i checked the aspire and the plastic quality seemed better to me. [surprise] i asked the guy if this car had better plastic to which he said that the beige color is looking premium and the quality is the same.

I didn't get a good look because it was dark but guys have you experienced the same thing ? To me the aspire's plastic quality seemed a tad better than the figo hatchback.

Ehh.. This reason was enough for me to write a strong worded mail to Ford including Mr. Nigel Harris himself explaining how their dealers are incompetent.
BTW once I had been to a MSIL dealership, we sat there, had water and left unattended after 5 minutes.

2 days back I was talking to Akash regarding the same car. I got to drive a Figo in Friday morning itself, a display car it was. How I got to drive it? That's better untold.
My experiences are exactly same as yours. Finding a suitable driving position is easy though and I guess the dashboard is a bit low set of we compare to Swift, i20 etc which helps in getting a great visibility up front.
Regarding the plastic quality, even I too felt the same with the quality. Looks like the high price of engine is adjusted here itself. Rest I need to have a day if ripping the car apart to see how well the things are bolted together.

Akash saarji where are you? Just see what AHC said, exactly same thing as what I told you on phone.
Hence proved, it was not only me or it is not only our AHC who have noticed that the plastic quality felt better in Aspire than in Figo.

Even I too felt that maybe Aspire feels better due to beige but the plastic texture too seems different at points.

But yes, Figo seems to be more sporty (londa gaadi.. Like first gen fluidic Verna) inside with all black interior and the sporty exterior looks. Aspire in turn seems to be more 'paarivarik gaadi' (family car).

Coming to Mustang:
Well, I got convinced on this one because:
1) Look at the bonnet shut line, especially at front part. It's same as Mustang above the grille. No rounded off or aero design like Aston's.
2) the crease which runs straight from the A pillar to the edges of grille. Aston has nothing like that but Mustang has.

Vipul and AHC, It can be agreed that there could be minute difference and over the phone I told it to you Vipul[:)]. Also, I kind of relate to what the showroom executive said and in-fact I even told this to you Vipul, i.e in dark color/low light the plastic quality can't be judged. I told you too, I had seen the Figo too with Black interiors and to me it looked neat decent. Actually, Beige being a lighter shade gives more vibrant and clear look to the finishing and texture of Plastic inside where as Black being dark and car standing in the display inside showroom, hence, true quality can't really be judged. Nevertheless, I repeat, a minute difference may be felt by some.

2 Pics taken, please check on the plastic quality. One is the door speaker casing and other is the right corner of the dashboard.[:)]

Even if there is a plastic quality difference its so minute that one cant fully appreciate its difference, The Figo and Figo Aspire is much better priced compared to tata Bolt vs tata Zest and I believe Ford might have skimped a litle bit of quality to achive that 60-70k difference between Aspire and Figo hatch since all other things are same between hatch and compact sedan, Its just the leather seats that make the difference.

Hi Guys,

As i have already booked New Figo 1.5L TDCI Tit+, I am planning to upgrade the tyres. As per my SA, tyre profile can be upgraded by keeping stock 14 rims intact. Therefore, i am seeing upgrade options in R14.

I am no expert. I request the experts to provide inputs on my requirements.

Below are my shortlist options:
185/60 R14
195/60 R14

Requirements for Tyre upgrade:
1.) Better highway grip
2.) Better handling.
3.) Not much prone to punctures.

What i can adjust after the tyre upgrade:
1.) Slightly lower ground clearance (Max until 170mm)
2.) Slightly poor FE (0.5 to 1 KMPL max)
3.) Slightly poor ride quality. However, still need the ride to be comfortable.

Now, can someone tell me which profile is better suited for my needs. Also, would need which Brand/Model tyre would be better and cheaper in that profile.

Please help me out ASAP as i am planning to change during delivery itself.

Note: Changing to R15 will void warranty as per SA and thus i am not considering it. Being my first car i do not wish to take this risk now.

185/60 R14 seems best for Figo hatchback, 195 will be even better but will decrease turning radius by some noticeable amount

The tire upgrade will always improve, ride quality, handling,COMFORT, yes, it wont downgrade anything,
The Mischellin XM2 series tires always gives the best balance of comfort, quietness, grip as per my observations, but it will wear off like 5-10k kms beforr MRF ZV2k tires thats stock on Figos,
Mileage difference will be un noticeable but speedometer will show some error.
Do tou wish to change alloys also, or just the tires?
I think as of now just a tire upgrade will make Figo even better handling, riding, quieter car.

I will keep the stock rim and just replace the tyre. Also, what will be the ideal life for the Michellin XM2 tyres. And what about their puncture resistance?

The New Figos either come with MRF ZV2K or Apollo Amazer 3G. So what if i get Apollo tyres? Can i leave it stock and is it any better than MRF?

Also, what if i keep the same profile 175/65 R14 but just upgrade to better tyres?

Sorry for too many questions as i am completely noob on this.

Hi Safe Driving 007, I have seen white figo and it looks quite good. The bonnet lines and other design lines are visible quite clearly in this color. I have not seen silver color but it think it will also be similar as its a lighter color. But, in white color we can do small modifications like black roofing and alloy painting to make this car HOT and unique.

Color selection is of personal choice and i request you to go to dealer and have a look at both these colours and take your pick.

I went for test drive of figo AT with lot of expectations. The 1.5L engine in a hatchback is segment first and really hoped for a lot.
Just want to tell this to Ford-EITHER GIVE US POWER LIKE GT TSI OR GIVE US FUEL ECONOMY LIKE SWIFT. The back headrest was indeed a joke. Ford are you putting this car as a premium hatchback? The plastic quality is nothing better than an alto. The seats are thin and back seats are cut short for rear leg space. Why ford why?? And the doors doesn't sound like a Ford it used to be. It's all my personal opinion.

Buddy, please suggest me one AT hatch back thats more powerful, more refined, better handling, better priced, better shifting, better feature laden, safer, having better mileage than the 8.04 lakhs on road Figo 1.5 P AT,
See Polo GT TSi is 9.69 lakhs OTR here in Trivandrum, Jazz too is expensive and dosent have nearly half the Power of Figo,Micra is good but only in city, get to highway one will beg for that motor to warm up at least before at least keep going
@jithinmose the Figo is a subcompact car, in Ford terminology an A car, thats otherwise called a micro hatch, Fords smallest car
If @jithinmose wants Fords competition of Polo its the Ford Fiesta hatchback
Comparing Figo to Polo is no way fair, even still one gets 80% of Polo GT TSi for the money
Mileage is something one can never judge after a short test drive
@AutoKrish of TAI has a Fiesta DCT, @jithinmose can inquire @Autokrish for details of mileage which I strongly believe will always reside between 9-12 in city and 14-22 highway

Hi kecha,
The best bet would be 195/60/14
You can get
1) Continental CPC2
2) Yokohame Earth Drive
3) Michelin XM2
4) MRF ZLO (cheapest but very good ones)

Hehe, buddy I agree with you completely. I'm in the lookout for a hot automatic hatch for around an year. The only reason I didn't go for gt tsi is the backseat space. I know fiesta hatch if launched is the best I would go for and I'll prebook it if heard of launching.

But the car market in India doesn't have an option which I want and I wrote it in desperation. It's true whatever I have told there. A family hatch with AT and when needed can transform into a hot hatch, that was in my mind when I went for figo test drive. But it neither had the power and the avg in display showed 3kmpl in last 400kms. I know it's too early to say of mileage, but maybe I expected a lot.
