We wont loose warranty for changing stock rims and tires, some dealers say otherwise but thats false info, 15" tires are fit for Figo and Aspire and onr can upgrade to them,
Please make it sure, before you change them my friend. I would recommend to write an email to ford to make it sure. As per my knowledge is concerned, we are free to change tyres but not rims.

Yeah its possible as per Harry Ford Trivandrum, one Aspire taker there was suggesting that he needs Ecosports 15" alloy wheels on his Aspire sedan while I was there trying to make a Test drive, the SA and SA Manager there enquired with the people at Chennai and said its possible to change tires, Ecosport had choice of MRF as well as Goodyears both had same alloys though, but if one needs a full tire change too thats possible, its just that Ford wont recommend that, the warranty will be void iff any internal part or working Ford part is changed, the tire is something we can change without harming warranty,
I have already seen one or 2 Aspires with 15" alloys roaming at TVM. I even saw one changing tire at a local tire shop, that white Trend Aspire had some Yoko tire with an awesome looking sporty black painted rims, so I think its possible to change tires and rims without affecting warranty. Battery is also that can be changed without affecting warranty.

Thanks for your wishes. This being my first car the wait is going to be difficult[frustration]
Waiting would be a pleasure, since its a damn good car. :)

Meantime, spend more time driving other cars to gain more control and experience. Usually, the first time car owners will have less driving experience. Hopefully, you've enough experience to handle this car.

Are you planning any modifications? Tyres etc?

Accept my wishes sir and do compose a sweet ownership review.

I love reading the first car ownership reviews as they combine emotions with impressions and questions.

Waiting is the sweetest and most painful part of pre buying as it combines dreaming and anxiety altogether. Recently I also bought my first car (I mean from my money) which was a used Innova. Even a week before the date I received the keys, I visited the owner and then thrice in the same week. The day and date were fixed for receiving the car (ya I am suffering with the pandit issue) still I got everything I liked added, made payments, ownership transfer and everything. On the d day it was just go to dealership and receive the keys. Heck, every time we buy vehicles this way only; all paperwork, cleaning and all done before the auspicious date and only receiving of keys is done on the D day in the morning itself by 10-11 am max.

My suggestion:
If you are a new driver then get some driving experience and yes, this is a powerful front wheel driven vehicle laying a good deal of torque on the front wheels.
It will be better if you gain some driving experience and drive your new Figo with a light or moderate foot during initial days of ownership. Better will be to gain the control gradually and then push the vehicle. Just follow the 2.5k rpm rule strictly during initial days of ownership. Just don't let's the revs go beyond 2.5k rpm and once you have full control then you can rev all the way to 4k on drives.

Thanks for your care and suggestion on getting the paperwork done earlier than the D day. I will keep this in mind. And yes, i am new to driving and will be very light on foot until i get the control. I plan to take the car out during non-peak hours only atleast until the run in period. But, i am confident that i could learn quickly, probably thats the advantage of learning driving in Maruti Driving school. I also drive a bit of Sumo Grande these days to stay in touch with driving.

And yes, Ownership review is coming soon once i get delivery.

Yes, waiting is pleasure. As i said above, i am driving a bit of Sumo Grande to stay in touch with driving. To be frank i am not experienced in driving but have confidence to handle this car and will be very light initially atleast i get enough control.

I have not planned any modifications as of now.
I am just planning to install accessories like IRVM with reverse camera. Ambient lighting is also in the radar.

No plans for tyre upgrade yet. Experience drivers may feel that need to upgrade it but being new to driving i feel i wont think of upgrading. Also, my initial plan was to go with titanium but as i will be keeping the car atleast. So, There goes my budget and thus no much modifications initially.[:)]

Re: New Ford Figo Hatchback Testing Begins in India

Even I do appreciate the fact that Ford has indeed given us a car which has airbags standard across all variants and also highlighted the structural safety. In that context (when ford is trying to highlight safety aspects), this was something that they shouldn't have omitted. Also, think of the fact that with those protruding fixed headrests installing a baby car seat would be very difficult. Otherwise this is a great car by Ford, unlike the other cars like Grand i10 which give us all bling features like push button start, rear AC vents etc. but compromise on the structure.
I was in search for for an automatic for my wife and had thought this would be the ideal car for her till I saw those fixed headrests. On 23rd evening itself went to cauvery ford with my baby's car seat and tried installing. My fears had come true the seat didn't fit properly because of those protruding fixed head rests. Today again went with one more car seat (I have two car seats), and there wasn't any luck. I had to drop the plans of booking the hatch (which I thought was ideal for my wife) just because of this. Now it was all about convincing my wife that she can drive the Aspire (we had already done the test drive when it was launched and she was a bit apprehensive because of the length) . Yes, I succeeded in convincing her, and ended up booking the Aspire 1.5 AT [:D]
My advice to people who use baby car seats please do check out that car seat fits properly especially when buying cars with fixed headrests.

Just called harpreet ford to ask about the trend (0) varaint.

They are offering 4 alloy wheels plus some chrome treatment like chrome door handles etc for that extra 25000 rs.

Company launching alloy wheels instead of abs shows the mindset of the general public. Disappointing.

Anyways there is just 1 demo car and no TD available. He said td vehicle will come within a week. Gave my contact details and will surely go and do a TD when it's available.

I have a question here.
How much the Ford's Aspire/Figo Hatchback maintenance will be?
Now that they say 80% + localization has been done.

All am concerned is that will it be expensive to maintain one of these two cars, say over 5-6 years.
What do you anticipate ?
