Guys the TDCi Figo is a beast, its the fastest hatch in India, and even better than Polo GT TDi
the Figo hatch diesel is unbeatable car in terms of performance,

This is a 0-100 kmph test GPS tested result
The hatch too will be more or less the same, now, I dont feel the TDCi Figo can be overtaken by some other brand is some short time, Ford has taken a quantum leap in performance

Sadly this time the brochure wasn't given at launch. Still, all queries on performance and other aspects will be addressed by me once I get on the wheels of Figo Hatch this weekend.[:)]

Do try to drive the petrol automatic also. And make comparison with gt tsi on performance aspect and with micra cvt on fuel efficiency aspect. I think lot many will benefit from it. Also when you are attending tomorrows kwid launch kindly ask about the relative date of automatic launch. I think they have not included automatic in this launch to make the price range low, like to say their top end car is just 4.5L ex showroom. So please get news regarding kwid auto too. Thanks a lot.

Great pricing by Ford.Figo can make Swift,i20 and Polo run for money. And,what's tempting is 1.5 AT Petrol which is tempting me now.My first favourite is Polo GT TSI,second is Jazz CVT and third is Figo DCT.

The Abarth Punto will be launched in October. So this will change pretty quickly. Second, I noticed the considerable squealing from the Aspire tyres during that video. Not a good safety sign at all. The car needs better/fatter tyres to handle the power/weight ratio. Again- advantage Abarth Punto.

Don't forget Abarth Punto is going to bomb on your purse, where as Figo doesn't.

You are quite right about the Tyres of Figo. It would be safe to upgrade them with better rubber, perhaps 185 or 195 (Either Michelin, Yokohama or Bridgestone). I don't think it would cost too much if you swap them on day 1 itself.

Let us consider that the speedo of Ford is calibrated well and has an error of 5%. Why error? Well because every car has it easily up to 5-6% and some have it up to 8%.

So for an error of 5% in calibration, we have a true speed of 95 kph which is displayed as 100. Neither the video maker has used the complete Vbox data nor they have used GPS. They have simply taken a stop watch initiated with speedo and the speedo displayed speed.

So we can expect a true 100 kph around 10.3 seconds and that is quick actually. Given the light kerb weight and a massive torque, the car actually responds really well to every throttle response.

Rest I really doubt if anyone will be pushing this car to the limits like we do with GT TDi, that is a different vehicle altogether with brilliant highway dynamics.

Abarth Punto, thats a different animal and dosent fight against Figo by no means even if priced lower than normal Punto pricing, also think of the Figo hatch Titanium+ TDCI
100 hp
215 NM
6 Airbagsu
Abs
Ebd
Almost all features one would ever need in a hatch back except rear seat head rests being fixed
25.8 kmpl
Just 8.56 lakhs On road
In comparison the competition is light years behind man,
The value Ford Figo offers is unbeatable even if we look cross segements, its way above class norms, true Ford has skimped on their robust built quality but didnt change its high strength steel stricture and didnt skimp on safety features while giving absolutely insane power and torque,
If one is a logical buyer who wants a hatchback below 9 lakh Rs, the Polo,Figo,Jazz, maybe upcoming Baleno are the Absolute pics,I still respect Polo because even though its got just 90 HP it feels faster, more driveable, more powerful, more robust, solid, safe and luxurious than Jazz and Figo and Punto. The Punto 90 Hp too is great but I got super disappointed by its terrible turbo lag and clunky gearbox,
Also if one is going the AT way the Figo is the best undoubtedly DCT 112 PS,136 NM and yet just under 8 .2 lakhs on road however huge the tax maybe,
I have driven the Aspire AT and for the pricr even though its not super high tech as DSG Polo, its absolutely a mega bargain for that price,
The sole looser in Figo line up is the 1.2 Petrol, not that its bad but wont make sense for some other than super low mileage users . Even still there is nothing that will easily beat Figo in terms of how much value it provides for the money,

That video was VBOX tested and the reading they showed down was just a stop watch, but the time was recorded using VBOX, check comments section, some has asked about GPS speed or speedo speed, if one takes the speedo result the Aspire does 0-100 kmph in nearly 9.2s when aggressively shifting, so is the GT TDi, it too does 0-100 kmph in nearly 9s, but the actual maybe 9.7-9.8s same as Aspire, when shifted with aggression,
For soft shifting the ACI value seems correct about 11-11.5s,
In the video we can hear the tire sqealing for traction, get the Aspire change to MISCHELLINN 185/65/R15 tires, and its a budget hot hatch/compact sedan.

Sirji I am not talking about time. I am saying that a speedo indicated 100 is achieved in 9.72 seconds. VBOX readings are well acceptable when speed and time both are achieved on a single platform. Here we have the VBOX working as a stop watch and the speed is recorded using the speedometer itself. Now there are chances of:
Human error (1-2% in observation)
Instrument error (calibration error, can be 5-6%)

To me, the time of 11.02 seconds recorded by ACI which seems to be more realistic and error free.

Guys went to the Ford website to see of thier Brochure is updated for Trend+ variants of Figo. Accidentally downloaded the Ford Classic's brochure.

IS Ford planning to relaunch the classic, what made me curious while the rest of specs were the same, Milage given is 21.38 for Petrol and 32.38 for Diesel. That would put a CIAZ to shame. instead of ARAI its says ACI cross country drive. I had though the classics days were over, is Ford planning some hybrid lauch or anything for the classic?

Ok My Bad- but the new KMPL numbers were a bit surprising. I guess Ford Chennai factory will now manufacture only Ecosports and a few Endevours now.

And,I got the price from Ford just now.I should say, best pricing ever by Ford.

Titanium+ Diesel-₹8.8L
Titanium Diesel-₹8.1L
Titanium AT Petrol-₹8.33L

On road price Hyd.I think Figo would be our second car at home.If we buy Figo,I would get the following things:

-Replacing 14 inch alloys with 195/55R15 Hankook Ventus V12 or Yokohama S-Drives with Momo Revenge Alloys
-Remap if it's Diesel

Overall,I feel Titanium Diesel at ₹8.1L is VFM for its features. We may go for 1.5AT as we need AT and running is less.
