Hi buddy,

Could you please suggest me a color among these for New Ford Figo

White & Silver.

Also please share your thoughts and information in related to the new 1.2 petrol engine, as i am planning to buy Ti VCT 1.2 Petrol Motor for ford figo.

Thanks in advance
Silver is a color that can stand the test of time but wont be exciting at a glance
White is the color that has the cute look, but it tends to fade after 5 years to yellowish or bluish tint, also I believe both these colors are good on their own right,
my personal pick would be the sea grey or black(my favorite for new Figo)
Hehe, buddy I agree with you completely. I'm in the lookout for a hot automatic hatch for around an year. The only reason I didn't go for gt tsi is the backseat space. I know fiesta hatch if launched is the best I would go for and I'll prebook it if heard of launching.

But the car market in India doesn't have an option which I want and I wrote it in desperation. It's true whatever I have told there. A family hatch with AT and when needed can transform into a hot hatch, that was in my mind when I went for figo test drive. But it neither had the power and the avg in display showed 3kmpl in last 400kms. I know it's too early to say of mileage, but maybe I expected a lot.
No product is perfect, the Polo GT TSi has a power to weight ratio of 98.06 BHp per ton
The Figo 1.5 AT has a power to weight ratio of 105 bhp per ton
but the big difference is torque, from 1500 rpm on wards Pol GT TSi has 152.7 NM per ton, while Figo AT has just around 44-50 NM per ton at that rpm, Ford engine needs 4250 revs to make that 131.02 NM per ton figure,
So inherently Polo GT TSi will be faster and more efficient in doing so, but one cant dismiss the Figo that easily, while I drove it, I felt power to be adequate and it had ample torque to ample around, the Figo AT is excellent VFM despite the GT TSi being better product, also the mileage is something we never can make out from a few test drives, specially for petrols, I still think the Aspire/Figo At will give class leading mileages once its internals are free breathing that is to say after 8000-10000 kms .

Hi kecha,
The best bet would be 195/60/14
You can get
1) Continental CPC2
2) Yokohame Earth Drive
3) Michelin XM2
4) MRF ZLO (cheapest but very good ones)
Regards,
draneeshpm.
Hi Draneeshpm,

No, the Aspire 1.2 petrol is available for TD in some showrooms, Harry Ford Trivandrum has 1.5 TDCi only as of now, but if requested they will bring the 1.2 Petrol Aspire for test drive purpose but will have to deal with canvasing , thats why I didnt take a test drive of the same
I believe the 1.2 TiVCT is a big improvement over the current 1.2 70 HP Figo which I own, the 0-100 kmph of old Figo 1.2 is around 16s with AC and 15 without AC, compared to that most site reviews quote 0-100 kmph timing of 13-13.5s for new Figo 1.2 P, so it should be more powerful, but drive ability is something one should analyze on a test drive ,
Ford eg: I felt 1.5 P AT of new Figo and Aspire more than adequate and gelling with my driving style, but for some its not responsive and not quick shifting or responsive, so it all depends on individual driving style, so I suggest @Safe Driving 007 to request a test drive at Kairali Ford Kochi, the Aspire 1.2 P test drive car which I sat on while I went for Aspire TD had an instantaneous mileage indication of 13+ kmpl despite full city driving and with AC.

@1989rs500, Below is the quote for tyre upgrade i received from one of the local tyre store in chennai. Please advise if this is a good deal

Buy back price for stock tyres (apollo amazer 3G/MRF ZV2K) with profile 175/65/R14 - Rs. 2750 each
Price of the new tyre (Michellin XM2) with profile 185/60/R14 - Rs. 5150 each
Price Difference = Rs. 2400 each. So if i change all 5 tyres its going to cost Rs.12K total.

Well I would happily get the XM2 with that exchange price, but really I dont know how much the new tires seller price is for Amazer 3G and MRF and whether the deal is sweet or not, but paying extra 12000 for tire upgrade seems reasonable

Ford has launched the all new figo and it doesn't resemble the old one at all!

Has taken a lot of rounds from grand i10, yet looks good and you said 100bhp?? That's a nice major USP of the car who needs spirited driving.

Not just 100 bhp
But 6 airbags, 2 airbaga standard
Mileage of 25.8 kmpl diesel
1.5l P AT with DCT with 112 Ps
Along with AT one also enjoy ESC,Hill hold, and still cheaper than some rivals
SYNC,emergency Assist,
One of best sounding music system
One of the quietest interior
Best AC, the list is huge,
So I think this is the best hatch back India has seen so far.

1Today went again to the showroom for a td of aspire. I drove both the diesel and the petrol.

I drove the petrol first. The suspension and steering were good though at times the suspension became a bit noisy.

Anyways i found the engine to be dull :/ the engine felt strained.

When i was driving i was shifting at 2k rpm because i am habitual of this. Anyways , even after 2k rpm when i pressed the pedal hard it felt strained. We were only 2 people and i wonder what will happen to the car when it's fully loaded.

I was disappointed with the performance. Anyways , the engine refinement was top notch. No noise if the engine whatsoever.

But again , my dad will be driving the Car so for him i guess the engine is good.

I liked the engine in the grand i10 and the liva better. These were peppy but the ford's 1.2 isn't even near it but surely not at bad as the jazz.

The ac was a chiller. Had to increase the temp. And decrease the blower speed.

After driving the diesel i was like [:D] at that point i knew my dax won't like this much power from a hatchback. So didn't notice much things about the diesel. But it was a hell lot quicker than the petrol.

Since aspire has added weight so the hatchback might be a little bit quicker than the aspire.

One more point. The clutch though smooth had very short play. Seemed weird driving the car after my verna.
The sales guy said it can be adjusted at the service center. Is this true ?

And again an irritating incident happened.

After the td there was no place to park the td vehicle. The adviser told me to move my car and he will park it.

Because of some traffic he had to go 2-3 buildings ahead. I waited for 2 minutes for him to come back and say thanks for the td and ask about the expected delivery of the car.

He came , parked his car , i was waiting behind him and he started calling someone and stood in the car for 2-3 minutes. [anger] he knew that i was standing there. The called seemed more important to him so i just shook hands and went.

Hey,

If you dont have any inhibitions against TATA, you can consider BOLT.
I would suggest at least take a test drive.
The petrol motor is very refined and adequate power/torque is there.
Plus, as their sales are going low, BOLT has a lot of discounts. So it will be cheap on your pocket too.

But as I said, only if you don't dislike the car, you may consider it.

I think Figo Diesel is a stunner - looks, performance and price wise.
I am yet to take a TD, but these are the initial impressions that I get.

Its just that, will it be reliable enough for 5-6 years. Not that am skeptical, but am not very confident too.

In Banglore definitely yes, my Figo is 5 years old now and so far its been a pleasure, also its super cheap to run and service, I would say even cheaper than Hyundai but not as cheap as Toyota,Maruti

Change of plans. Dad told me this time will buy a diesel car. One family member has to travel 80 kms daily.

Won't sell the santro nor the i10. Will sell both the cars after some time and buy a new petrol hatch.

Anyways i was confused between liva and the figo. The liva diesel crosses the 6 lakh figure so won't be buying that.

I guess will end up booking figo trend diesel . Have to take the diesel td once again :p

Today went to harpreet ford moti nagar. Did a td as well. The only thing that i didnt like was the harder gear shifts.

They also had these parts comparing the desire and the aspire. Check the images.

Aspire has 10k discounts + free 3rd year warranty.

Also saw the smoke grey color which looked good to me. Confused between red and grey.

I believe this is a great idea to promote how cheap Ford is nowadays, seems like most parts price have come down even further from what it used to be 4 years back, Ford could possibly be one of least expensive cars to service, but to maintain its still Maruti and Toyota that leads the punch.
