Hi Ketan,
The DRLs look magnificent, I could not find them in MGA list. If these are aftermarket, does it void your warranty. I have booked a ZXi+ and would love to have these.
I am also getting,
floor mat, led sill guard and interior styling kit. Anything else would you guys like to suggest? This is my first car :D.

Hi Tarey,

Getting DRL would certainly void warranty on electrical part but they do look awesome [:D]. Apart from accesories that you have mentioned you can go for:
1. Chrome between tail lights (its a must)
2. Chrome on head lights (looks good), you even have tail light chrome but i dindn't like them personally
3. I even had leatherite seat covers (they have made my seat more comfy [:)])

You are already getting interior styling kit which is a must but see they match your dashboard wooden color border.

Rest your car has everything that you need.

Enjoy your ride...

Hi All,

First of all Congratulations to my dear Ciazians - Bajaj, missionmanali, shahr81, Raghuram, turan, ketan864 for their wonderful possession of NEW CIAZ's.

Dear Bajaj, I am also looking for accessory you mentioned - Chrome between tail lights (just like ZXI+, but it is currently unavailable. Moreover even if its available later, it wont be an MGA (Maruti genieune accessory) it would be MGP (Maruti genieune parts). Has anybody opted for this chrome strip between tail lamps

Dear Mora, Thanks for your kind words. I am fully satisfied with my purchase of Ciaz. Highway performance is very good. Its stable at 140+ (On Mumbai-Pune expressway) & average displayed is 19+ Kmpl on Highways for a petrol sedan. Also cornering hill stations is a sheer bliss from manouvering point of view & also never ever felt "underpowered" even at steep slopes with 5 persons, Luggage & A.C. Hope it clarifies.

Thanks all

Hi Ciazzz,

Nice name...feels like I am chatting with my Ciaz ;). Anyways I got that chrome between tail lights and it looks awesome. I think that's a must for Ciaz. I have chrome on headlight and on window pane as well they look good. They even had chrome for tail light but I personally didn't like it.
Loved DRL work on head lamp but thats something I will do after electrical warranty gets over. I do have speakers on my mind too but all that after warranty gets expired.
Regarding performance I am more than impressed, have done Gurgaon to Alwar and Gurgaon to Dehradun and didn't face any issues. Car handles bad roads smoothly. Mileage is between 19+ which is awesome.

Cheers...

Hi All,

I am planning to buy ciaz in upcoming weeks and have already driven the car around. I have driven zxi+ and I was impressed with ride quality and specially brakes.

I always thought of buying car equipped with ABS but then I landed on some forums claiming about pros and cons of ABS which made me bit sceptical about my decision. But here are my two cents, ABS is must thing for any car. Sales representative was kind enough to let me drive car beyond 100+ and I tested the brakes at that speed, and you would not believe that car came to halt within no time. I was REALLY impressed.

But one thing I noticed, was engine noise. When car is idle, you probably would not be able to hear any sound but once you press the accelerator, you hear some noise.

Fellow members on the forum also noted this point. Could issue be possibly related to tyres ?
As I have driven zxi+ which comes with 16'' tyres and it could be the partly issue.

Any thoughts from owners ?

On road price, I am getting is 8,77,000. I got in touch with two dealers as of now and literally none of them is ready to come up with any discount. Neither in form of cash discount or in form of accessories. Can you please share your views on same ?

Also the price of some accessories was quite high as compared to what posted on forum.

I have already downloaded the PDI list. :)

What is the maximum discount I should expect ? Should it be in form of discount OR accessories ?

Any thing else, I should make note of before booking ?

Thanks :)

Welcome to T.A.I Sandeep. See the dealers would be charging you logistic charge which as per law in Delhi is illegal so that will be an added discount. You don't pay that under any circumstance. Basic Kit on every Maruti Vehicle is discounted. The basic kit includes, divinity, perfume, mats and steering cover. They would try and deny you the kit for free but actually that comes for free with the car. Apart from these, regular discount schemes at the dealer will be applicable. Do not go for any anti-rust or 3M treatments from dealer's end. Also ask for a gear lock from dealer.

Thanks Akash for such a quick response!

I have raised this point of logistic and told them about the RTO notice and Supreme court ruling but they denied. They are charging 2900/4000 for basic kit and when asked about gear lock, one of dealer said that gear lock is not available for CIAZ. I really doubt that as it is not possible that company manufacture a car but doesn't manufacture the vital accessories. It seems that CIAZ is getting heavy sales and that's why they are not giving any discount. I have been getting calls from dealers and I have repeatedly made them very clear that I am not just looking around but have already made my decision to buy this car but all in vain.

Any tips to get waive off on logistics and other items ?

Absolute rubbish. We have a post by Vibhor our admin in which there is the pic of the ruling for logistic charges in Delhi. I'll post it here. Show them the copy and then revert over here if they still do not budge then tell me. Which is the dealer you have approached?

Gear lock is not OEM manufactured Accessory buddy, it comes as add-on. If one does not have then maybe other dealer will have it. Else you can fix it after buying too.

Nothing so special in sales figures of CIAZ. It is an average performer if compared to CITY. Discounts depend on the dealer and buyer should have negotiating skills. No dealer will bow down to a buyer's demand for discounts in the first instance. Always remember, due to us customers these dealers are surviving.

Ask him to provide price details/invoice for each of the things in that Basic Kit.

Don't pay anything apart from Ex Showroom Price, Road Tax, Insurance. If you're taking temporary registration you should pay only Rs500 and not more then that.
If he questions anything just say him these are not the things that are meant to paid by customer. And ultimately say clearly to him that You'll Not Pay It.

I would like some clarification regarding the " handling charges" charged by maruti dealers. I am in the process of purchasing a maruti vehicle from a dealers and they are quoting Rs.5750/- as handling charges. I would like to know the advisory given by Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. to its dealers on charging the same from its consumers. These charges have been termed as illegal as per recent judgement in the month of January 2012. Link : Government to car dealers: Waive handling charges - Times Of India Kindly provide me the view as taken by MSIL. Regards **

Oh! I was not aware of this. Thanks for the knowledge.

I have visited them twice and have been getting their calls continuously since I approached them. I have assured them that I am not going to buy unless you provide some discount and each time they respond with - "Sorry sir, we can't give you any".
Though I shall keep budging them :)

I have not checked the recent sales figure but in last quarter of 2014, sales figures of both (city & ciaz) were neck to neck. Moreover, I visited honda dealers as well and hardly could found any buyer interested in city but on other hand, I saw total 6 ciaz on delivery line. Though nothing can be generalized by considering the figures of 2-3 showrooms.

Thanks
Sandeep

Thanks for message, Nishant. I already have it with me.

This is absolute loot. The container that comes to showroom to deliver the car has many units and not just single one. Fuel and Driver expense is not customer's burden and that in all circumstances should be born by dealer. They are not providing us a free favor. It is their problem that they are not having enough space to house the vehicles hence choose a far away location and charge these exorbitant prices from us. The Company Policy is nothing but a gimmick to con the customers. If a rule is made to help a customer then 10000 alternatives are devised to con the customer.

I have assured them that I am not going to buy unless you provide some discount and each time they respond with - "Sorry sir, we can't give you any".

Would you mind, if we both may pay a visit to the respective dealer? I just want to understand their logic and share peace of mind.

I already have it with me.
