Very true. This is the major reason why I preferred Ciaz over City. Missing features and costly spares were other reasons.

After booking, you got delivery in 5 days? Man, I have been waiting for almost 3 months now for my Silver ZXi AT. After complaining to Maruti Regional sales, all I got was a lousy regret letter.

Can you please name the dealer and city? How is the dealer service?

It depends dealer to dealer,I think some dealer s got large inventory.In my case I got got my car on 19 th day after bbooking despite change of color.I my opinion silver color is not in much demand that may be a reason and maruti may not have large demand for this color

Yes, it was about 5 days to take delivery, if not for the Thane RTO delays it could've been even more faster.

This is Navnit Motors in Thane, they are supposedly one of the largest in Mumbai area and hence they maintain a continuous supply & large inventory. The service was really good. As soon as the car arrived in the warehouse, they let me visit the yard and check colors & conduct informal inspection also.

By the way, due11027 to your question on 16" alloys, you can consider ZXI (optional) model which comes with 16" alloys + complete leather upholstery & few other bells & whistles, the difference in cost is negligible.

I guess, I should also say that I got lucky with the color being available as part of the inventory. I also know of couple of people waiting for several weeks now on specific colors like red, dignity brown etc.

One more thing that helped smoothen the process was SBI, which cleared my loan in 24 hours and hence I had the approval when I did the booking, right after my inspection I called the bank and told them to disburse the loan which happened in few hours.

I need Auto Transmission. ZXi AT is the best I can get. Would have really loved AT in ZXi(O) or ZXi+ models.

Same here, I also enquired on the same ZXi (o) automatic, but no luck on that, it seems such a config is not manufactured at this time. It is very much available in MT models. They are holding zxi+ config for future release.

3 Months is indeed a long wait, speak to these guys and see if they can deliver a car of your choice. I am sure, within Maharashtra they will be able to help register your car in any town/city of your choice.

UPDATE : I happened to visit Pune once again & went to 3M Car Care at Chinchwad. I opted for Foam Wash, Interior /Exterior Cleaning & Wax Polish. 3M terms this treatment as UV protection.

They did a fantastic job & total bill was INR 1120. All works completed within 1.5 hrs.

Highly recommended to keep the car glowing. 3M Car Care really rocks !!

Ok. email to regional sales had its impact - I got a call from SA that my ZXi AT has been dispatched and shud be here next week. Yippieeee...[:)]

Will ask for PDI immediately when car reaches local yard - will be going with PDI check list. If satisfied only then give go ahead for RTO registration and loan disbursement. Will do PDI before delivery as well.
Will be opting for Extended warranty and under body anti-corrosion treatment from 3M.

Any pointers to save insurance amount? Any other useful tips before taking delivery

Great news, nice to know things are moving ahead.
There is a substantial savings when we procure our own insurance online, at-least a good 25% is possible.
Maruti basically is acting as a broker/middle-man and provides us with an insurance from one of the providers out there.
The advantage with Maruti is that, it is a zero depreciation insurance with comprehensive coverage, on top of it, in the event of a claim they make it super smooth, we just have to leave the car with their service and they take care of the rest.
There is no need for us to speak to insurance company at all.
All my friends advised to stay with Maruti at-least for the 1st year and they all vouched for the easy claim process.
Request members with more info & prior experience to please chime-in.

I will go with booking VXI + (Petrol).

Actually Skoda Rapid sales person told me that huge discount is ON for Rapid vehicles and that is the reason he is requesting me to book one and also they need to meet the sales target itseems.

Discount cash - 40K
Alloy Wheels - Free for Ambition plus variant(actual 15'' steel wheels) + Other accessories like mud flaps,floor mats etc...

I thought it was good to go with it, but even my friends said that maintenance will be high and resale value will be less for Skoda Rapid cars "If wanted to purchase go with Diesel one not the petrol one".

After reading positive suggestions from TAI team i change my mind to go with Ciaz.

From next month onwards i.e, Jan2015 prices are going to hike.
Will it be better if i book the vehicle now itself i.e, within 31st.

Will i get 2015 manufactured vehicle or 2014 manufactured one? what about the price ?

You can get Ciaz at 2014 price till MS revises the price. If the Ciaz delivered in Jan 2015, you should ask for 2015 manufactured only. Mostly the price of car will be based on the price of delivery day.

Checked out MGA accessories for Ciaz at the dealer today. Too pricey for pathetic quality. For my ZXi AT, I will be going for following from aftermarket:
a. Mats – with boot mat
b. Leather Steering cover
c. Mud Flaps
d. Garware Sunlight protective Films - except front
e. Illuminated Sill Guard
f. anti-corrosion under-body coating from 3M car care

Hello Everyone,
I got my White Ciaz ZDI delivered on Jan 5, 2015. It has clocked around 250 kms till now. Am really enjoying the ride at the moment and would post a detailed analysis after a few more kms have been driven.
