@koush
Thinking of going in for the Genome (5000k) projectors too

What was the cost breakup of the Genome projectors and the DRL Strip

I'm getting it for 20k in Pune

And between 2.5 to 6 k for the drl strip depending on quality.
Are you saying that 20k for the projectors excluding the DRL? In that case the price is just about the same of what I paid here in Hyderabad (26k for everything).
If this price is including the DRLs, then it's a steal. [;)]

Ensure one thing, the reputation of the workshop from where you are getting it done should be 4.5-5 star. Even if that costs a few bucks more for the peace of the mind.

I know that your headlight and DRL has drawn a lot of attention and it looks fabulous. But what I like and would like to know more is about the following four items, which looks so discreet and almost factory fitted.

3. Lenovo Tab 2 A7-10 (Android Tablet, Wifi Only) > 4.7k
4. Sony Explode 2.1 Channel Amp > 5k
5. JoyCon EXR steering control kit > 2k
6. Honda City radio panel kit > 2.2k
All I need is AM/FM, an MP3 music player and GPS Nav. My City (2011-SMT) has audio controls on the steering wheel. Questions:
- Do I still need JoyCon steering control kit?
- Can the existing amp do the job with existing (4-door) speakers?
- How is the Lenovo mounted to the radio panel kit?

Nicely done. SR

Hope I will be welcomed to the thread though I am not a City owner.
Nobody here is going to be CIAZ-ed off! Welcome!

Hi Essarr,

I plan to do a video review of the setup soon to show all the apps that I have in the tablet and how they work. I have removed all the Social media apps and Mail clients (Anything that sends notification and can distract me while driving) from the tablet.

To answer your question,
1. Yes you need JoyCon to get the steering mounted controls working with the/any android tablet.
2. The OEM player has inbuilt amp, which is difficult to get out of the player without destroying it. Without the amp the music will not feel punchy. I got a 2 channel Sony Explode amp for my car. If you plan to get an woofer also then go for a 4 channel amp.
3. You need to get the Honda City dash kit which will hold the tablet in place. It is mounted using a steel plate at the back screwed horizontally to the panel in the back side.

Hope this helps. Feel free to reach me in case you need any more details.
Have a great day.

Thanks, I got the picture, somewhat. What if I want to disable the steering controls totally (because a driver drives the car mostly). and use a standard remote from the passenger seat? Anyway, I'll wait for your video demo. Thanks again. SR

Sir
Does the reverse camera only work when the reverse gear is on. Or is there an option to switch on the reverse cam during a normal drive too?
I am asking this because in my caska system I had an option where i could keep the cam on while moving ahead too. But the cam had some problem and had to be replaced. As it was still in warranty a free replacement was made but now cam is activated only when reverse gear is engaged. The option for reverse cam while driving is still available but it does not display anything.
Hi, I installed my new reverse camera (same as Dr.Mudhan) clarity is good. I had same issue, it worked only when in reverse gear. But my electrician was good when I told him I need while driving too as my ICE has option(Pioneer X5690BT) then he said we need to connect it to other power source so when he asked I told if possible connect it to my Amp which has on/off switch so it worked well.

So I believe you need another power source like your ICE has.

Oh thank you very much kuwaronline!! I will surely try that.

I would also like to inform that my car has safely reached Chennai.
Got it transported by Leo Packers and Movers. They charged me 13.5k(incl of taxes). Initially they quoted 15k but were ready to bargain and came down to 13.5k whith no pressure.

In that case you can just install poweramp and play songs in it. You can change the tracks by flicking your finger from Left2Right or Right2Left. It's super easy.

Has anybody received information regarding the recall?
Yes I have received the call and scheduled for date after 12th October, this is suppose is the date Honda's website is also mentioning.
How many fellow motor heads have checked / received the information for the same?

Just checked mine in Honda Car India website and my car is applicable for this recall. FYI, it is 2009 Honda City VMT.

I haven't get any calls from local dealer yet but I have filled my details in the website.

My 2011 Honda City 1.5 SMT is also eligible for the recall. Driver side airbag inflator needs to be replaced. I have provided all the required information and selected the dealer on Honda website. Now waiting for the appointment scheduled by the dealer.

It is mentioned in main page of Honda Car India website. Here is the direct link.

17 character Chassis no is required for checking.
Can you please tell me where i can locate that 17 character number in the city ? I dont think my friend even knows about this and he won't be able to find it. Thanks for the link.
