Hi Friends,
Had a bad experience on 31-Oct-2012. Entire day it was raining in Bangalore due to the cyclone effect. I left office around 7.15pm and due to the RHS headlight was not working [cry], drizzle, and low visibility near one place I drove over a small divider. I was driving around 35KMPH and there was this big sound which scared me, I realized that I just ran over the divider and back on road. Got down to check the car and the wheel was damaged and had a bend in the rim. The tyre was flat. Drove slowly and got to the left of the road. It was tough time as it was drizzling all time.

Had a tough time fixing the jack as it was tight. Replace the wheel and drove back home slowly. Today (1-Nov) I took the car to the alignment centre in ring road near kalyan nagar. Explained to him the issue. He checked the alignment and for any damages under the car. By God's grace there was no damage. The Rim and Tyre were damaged. He corrected the alignment in the LHS and took a test drive. He found that the steering is wobbling, so he shuffled the wheels. Placed the back wheels to front and LHS to RHS etc. And took a drive again, it was working fine. The damaged rim was fixed and the tyre was also fixed with a patch.
Need to get the RHS light fixed in the service centre.
Another new problem started today. The rear LHS window is rolling up and down automatically, may be due to rain water dropping on the power window unit on the driver side. Need to get it checked. Also the same old suspension problem is re-occuring, need to check that as well. Planning to get it checked this Saturday.

Manza_class,Sorry to read about the incidence.

This is probably a side wall cut on the tire or can it be called a puncture?
It has probably occured due to flat tyre getting trapped in between rim edge and road?
Will the patchwork survive? Gurus needs to comment here.

My car is almost ready for the 30,000kms service. Planning to get it done in Concorde Motors this time. They have opened a new service station, off Hosur Road. I will check it out.

Meanwhile, as our original trip planned for last week got cancelled due to rain, we did a short drive yesterday through some villages, a forest and some ghat route with a couple of double hairpin bends. Enjoyed the drive - except for a real bad stretch of around 4 kms.

HR, your car is photogenic, the pics are as always great... Which place did you visit (Nandi Hills)?
Any issues you are planning to report in your 30K service?

I got my car checked this saturday. The same old front suspension sound has re-appeared and it was worse in the last week due to rains. Problems reported were:
1. Front suspension sound.
2. RHS headlight non functional
3. The power windows of LHS go up and down (may be due to rain water) falling inside the car as i had kept the windows open after that bent rim.

Went to the service centre (Aadya, outer ring rd) on saturday morning. Spoke to the concerned SA (Keshava) and told him very sternly about the front suspension and also asked him about the anti roll bar (ARB) replacement from TATA. He checked the history of the car and told me that the ARB is not replaced in my car. He checked with the inventory and confirmed to me that he will replace it now.

The RHS bulb was replaced and the entire power window set on driver side was replaced under warranty.

Took the test drive with the SA and found that the front suspension sound has vanished now. The power windows are functioning properly at present.

So, all in all the service experience was good and all the problems have been addressed.
I gave my feedback with the service history to the CS manager (Usha). She patiently listened to me and promised me a good service this time. This also helped me in getting things done promptly.

Below is the pic of the famous ARB [:D], it really works fine. Its such a small part for this car which controls the front suspension noise.

I checked the prices of the new Manza (club class) and below is the price list:
QJET (Includes AMC-10K, Ex-Warranty 5800):
LX - 8,46, 384
VX - 9,19,816
EX - 10,25,329
EXL - 10,70,143
Some pics attached. Sorry for the bad quality, its taken with my mobile.

@HR: Dear friend, again am using space to write my experience in your thread. Please accept my appology and allow me wirite here.

Manza class, It is 'OT ' to post your ownership experience on the 'ownership thread ' of HR.
It is very easy to start a 'new owner ship'thread on TAI ,It doesn't matter even if you do not give previos details, you can drag your previous posts from this thread to new thread.
BTW, congrats for successful ARBbush replacement and thanks for the pics.

@HR, I liked the last pic, is it an effect or true pic?

Not Nandi Hill - we went for a drive to Hogenakkal. More photos here .

Regarding the service, I want my suspensions to be checked. I also want to rectify a slight rattle that I get from the driver side door glass when it is not fully up or down. There is also an issue of the gear lever not moving smoothly, that I want rectified.

Apart from that, the normal service including oil change and under body coating to be checked.

Please fell free to write about you car in this thread. I have no problem.

In fact I want to start a new thread - Known problems and solutions in Manza - where all Manza owners can share their experience.

That was converted from color to grayscale. So you can call it an effect.

My doctor last Wednesday removed all the restrictions he had imposed on me and I was free to carry on my normal life.

So,with the long weekend, we decided to go for a long drive to unwind. We ruled out all the tourist attractions as we were sure the places would be over crowded.

Instead, we went for a long drive – Bangalore to Virudhunagar (NH7 after Madurai) – to our relative’s place to spend a couple of days.
Total distance covered 1044 kms.

Hello Highway Ranger
Which app you are using to track the mileage with integration with GPS?

For mileage, I use an app called My Cars. I have to manually feed in the odo reading and the amount of fuel filled. It is not connected to GPS.

I also use GPS speed tracker which tells me the trip distance, average speed, max speed, driving time, stopped time total time and also displays the route taken on a google map.

What problem are you facing in the Suspension? Is it very soft or something else?

Opening new thread for known issues and fixes for Manza would be great and will be very useful for many owners.

I get a thud sound and can feel it when I go over a bad pothole. I have driven my car through a lot of bad roads. So need to get the suspension checked for any wear or damage.

Gave the car for its 30000 kms service yesterday at Concorde.

My complaints were;

Suspension noise:
The 'kreesh' sound started coming back when going over smooth speed bumps. This problem had disappeared after the first ARB change.

Window glass rattling: Window glass rattling when half open

Gear lever problem: Gear lever not moving smoothly. makes some sound and also some sort of obstruction on its path.

Check the under body for any damage to the 3M anti rust coating.

Check the Brakes

When I got the car back,

They had changed the ARB bushes.

Checked the under body and found it ok.

Suspension noise: They have again replaced the ARB bushes. Looks like these bushes last only around 10,000 kms. Replaced under warranty.

Gear lever problem:
They tried to rectify the gear lever problem, finally gave up and have ordered a new assembly. To be replaced under warranty. Will take a week time for them to get the part. They will call me when the part arrives. I have given them 7 days to get back to me, failing which I told them that I will escalate to Tata Motors.

Window rattling: They tried to tell me that rattling will be there, as according to them, there are no support for the glass when the glass is half open. I told them "fine. No issues. Please give me in writing what you just told me. I will ask Tata Motors why the windows have been designed that way". Then they tell me that they will rectify it when I give the car back for the gear lever assembly replacement.

After the service the car and the suspension feels good.
[clap]

The 30000kms service bill came up to 5200 odd rs. engine oll, oil filter and 30,000 kms service labour charge. This was a paid service. The service charge was around 1200 odd rs.

They have advised me to change the front brake shoes in another 5000 kms.

I am planning to give the car for routine/Quick service every 5000 kms from now on.[thinking]

Oh! You cought the bluff masters on window pane rattle issue.

I have changed my ARB bush for the first time @ 23000 km, but they denied me warranty claim, I have taken the issue with TATA on phone.
