Wow that's a good idea to save precious time & wiring space. Really smart thinking (connecting it to Acc point) in chosing the right place to draw power.

Shantanu,

Tell us about your door lamps.

I wanted this kind for long time. But scared to open the door pads and worried about wiring.

Does your door lamp will work only for the specific opened door or all lights will go once a door is opened?

What light you have used.

Pls go thru this posts no 180, 198 and 205

Thanks for liking my DIY.
I'll soon post more details about the door lights.
All the door lamps light up when any door is opened, as it is connected through the cabin lamp wire.
The enclosure is alto side indicators and for light I have used RED led strips.

Today's update.
1. Resigned from the job.
2. Went to the book market for buying entrance exam books.
3. Ended up buying central locking system and new lock set for my car. [;)]
4. Got scolding from my mom for again buying something that's time consuming.

Outcome of the scoldings:
Prepared a timetable for myself and promising my parents that I'll stick to it.
Postponed the fixing of lock system for few days

Thanks,
The package contains two remotes, as if one remote is lost/malfunctioned the second one can be used. Will start fitting it after diwali.

Nice parts haul Shantanu bhai, eagerly waiting for some WIP pics, especially of that ignition switch replacement. I too am planning to replace the lock set & this DIY of yours would come in handy.
BTW can you share whats the difference between a type 1 & type 2 lock set?? To me both appear same.

Will post the pics soon.

The difference between Type 1 and Type 2 lock set is only the shape of dicky lock. Nothing else.
