Yes Yes We Can.i read that and agree with him we can remove the number plate from the car by editing. So when we can start ![:)]
As you said that you have many maruti 800 pics, you can start this thread. Just sort the pics and start with the SS80. Then with the Type 1. Also write atleast a few words related to each pic.

The multi colour meter looks really good. I guess you will use different colour LED to lit it from backside.
In my car the speedometer plate is metal (Aluminium) so backlighting idea doesn't work. Check yours if that is also metallic.
All type 1 speedo has metal plate. So there would be no backlit. But the color combination is too good. Hope to see it soon.
Shanthanu, try pasting color papers/plastics behind the speedo plate [Dont look at me like that[embarass]] Just a suggestion. But am sure if you could manage to do it, it is going to be awesome.

Installed Sony 180W 6" speakers in the front and Pioneer 240W 6" speakers in the rear doors.

Used these Speaker Spacers for the front door as the speakers were touching the glass

My neighbour installed JBL speakers in the front door of his swift so these spacers were removed.

Few days ago bought Formula1 wax and 3M Dashboard Polish.

I was confused that weather the Formula1 wax is original or not, but the outcome is excellent and as told by my cousin bro, dust is slipping away from the surface and is not forming a layer on the car.

Yesterday washed and waxed the car. The process started at 7am and ended at 7pm. All 12 hours were dedicated to my car, with only 1/2 hr lunch break. First of all I wiped the car with dry cloth. Then added a sachet of ezee to a bucket of water. And then using a sponge cleaned the car properly. After drying the car properly I applied wax and started buffing it by hand using the applicator provided with the Wax. One hour was spent for buffing only the bonnet, two hours were dedicated to the roof. The final outcome was excellent and my parents and neighbours were amazed to see the shine of a white car

@shantanu, Nice work.

For Waxing, there is a tool [kind of rotatory with sponge] I believe. Any idea about that. Am planing to buy one from eBay which comes around Rs.800 something.

Thanks for Liking the work Sir,
Do you own a drill machine ??

A custom made buffing pad can be attached to the drill machine. I'll soon get one fabricated and post the dimensions and pics. You could easily get one fabricated. Will not cost more than 200.

No, I didn't attach that small sponge to the drill machine. I buffed the car with hand. Its very time consuming job. I'll fabricate one holder to fix sponge in it and attach to the drill machine. I'll post the pics as soon a I fabricate it.

BTW: I bought the formula1 wax for Rs 350. I don't know its fake or genuine, but its working really good. Read this once before buying http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/forums/maintaining-my-ride/8332-beware-fake-formula-1-car-care-products-india.html

After polishing my car I checked beneath the car for any underbody rust. The primer that I had applied was fine and there were no signs of rust but the rear wheel well was showing some signs of rust. So I decided to paint it.

Also painted the shock absorber, leaf spring and the hub.

Also washed the tyres and polished them with 3M dashboard polish [;)]

Tyres look great Shantanu bhai, I like those old design rims of Maruti. was wondering why those different markings on tyres, Bridgestone & Ceat. ?
Also did you manage to change the locks of car, especially the ignition one.
BTW your cars' exterior, espeically the paint is looking great, do post some more pics of the same.

Wow the tires look cool ! Was it done with a brush ?

Instead of painting primer, you could have bought 3M underseal (350rs) it would be better than this and would also reduce the road noise.

Please check my thread I have used it.
