Finished my ka-tn-kerla trip today after covering a total distance of like 1k in 3 days :)

While returning today from Coimbatore to bang via nh47/nh7 i saw the MID at 21.3 kmpl which was pretty impressive.

Overall, a lil disappointed since i did not get 25 kmpl inspite of not cross 90kmph and steadily maintained 3k rpm. Beyond 3k, i-vtec kicks in and honda is an absolute hooligan to drive.

As usual , when i rolled the windows down i could hear all kindsa stone mud, other trash hitting my underbody and b-pillar

This car serioulsy needs better tyres or a 3M underbody coating. Thoughts?? [confused]
21.3kmpl is a very good fig for a petrol car and expecting 25kmpl would be too much i guess. I got max efficiency from my engine once on a Nice Road b/w e-city to tumkur road and return. Overall F.E i got was 26.6 kmpl but it is next to an Ideal conditions(took pics as well as I was aware this is the max I could ever get).

Yope even I get bogged down by the sound coming from tyres[frustration](I have GY shoes placed for my Brio) so, never thinks of rolling down glasses. Underbody coating will subisde the sound but not aware howmuch it would help. Definetly, upgrading tyres should be a better idea.

cheers for a drive, I love taking out my Brio to highways and i don't even miss a single opportunity thrown[clap]

thx bro, will up sizing lead to decrease in FE? i am not willing to compromise on FE as i drive like 59 kms a day and FE is paramount importance.

Also, will up sizing lead to issues in cornering or taking sharp turns? I sometimes maneveur in 4th gear itself as brio's steering is awesome and light

upsizing will decrease your FE. Do not upsize your tyres but upgrade them to better ones of the same size. Suggested options shall be michelins/ yokos

up-scaling will lead to reduction in FE for sure , But if you keep same Diameter ( 14inch ) but go for lesser section width and section height , you will get better cornering control even at higher speed .

Just for Better tyre understanding to every body here and i have put up a diagram explaining Tyre Marker information .

Thank you all for all the help , my little Honda came home yesterday, just sharing a few pics [:)]

Learned driving almost 3 months back so quite nervous to take her out now. Asked a driving teacher from a local driving school to accompany me in the morning & have driven about 10kms mostly in 2nd & 1st gear, did manage to hit the eco lamp at times , MID shows 11.2kmpl as FE.

I was going through the user manual and was surprised to not find any info about run in and neither the suggested speeds for various gears(do they want us to rely on ECO lamp for this?) . Would appreciate answers on the above queries and more than welcome any driving tips.
