congrats for the first service of your polo.
U guys need to help me regarding this. I didn't use my car windshield spray for one month as the windshield was so dirty with bird droppings and i didn't want to scratch the windshield, i washed my car yesterday after 1 month (yes after one month) i tried pulling the washer lever and i noticed one sprayer was not working , i again pulled and it still didn't work. i went outside and I was agitated to see red ants making their way out of the washer sprayer. I wanted to take the vehicle to service station but it was national holiday yesterday. after 3-4 hours i saw a lot of dust particles accumulated as if the red ants were taking them out, now i m perplexed that they are not in the washer pipes,, even if the service people change that sprayer plastic thing, should i ask them to clean the pipes too.. HELP!

Poloman, better to take precaution than regretting later. Ask those guys to flush out the line so that there is no blockage. And please do wash your car atleast once in a week. Further, do take her out for a short drive if you dont take her out daily.

Just kidding, but seriously you should have taken care of the beauty like it deserves to be.
Firstly, run the washer fluid over and over again to see if all ants run away. Your doubt is right, dead ants may have blocked the whole pipe, so you should take it to workshop as early as possible.

Something sad to write.
My Polo met with an accident few days back on Tuesday. It was my fault as I was trying to squeeze between two cars, and misjudged the speed of an alto running ahead and Bang!!
More details will be shared when I get the car back tomorrow.

Sad to see your Polo in this condition. Hoping no body any sorts of injuries or anything. The good part is no major damage it seems. Just the front bumper and fender seem to have taken a hit. Fender needs to be replaced but i guess the bumper can be done with some rubbing and paint touch ups. How much damage did the Alto had? Hope to see your car back in brand new condition soon. Where have you given it for repair? Paste the pics after you get it fixed.

Feels bad to see your polo in that condition. Even mine had a similar damage like that one. Is the headlight too damaged?

Any idea about the AMC duration and the cost?

I have booked the comfortline and dealer is saying that the AMC is for 2 years and costing around 15K. However on the company websites it is mentioned that the AMC is for 3 years.

Most of the dealers are offering 2 years AMC these days, I know another guy who got it for 2 years only.
Can you do some effort-take print out of that particular page of site or the newspaper cutting and show it to dealer?
Who is your dealer? Viraj Auto or from Delhi?

Customer car will not tell you the offers probably because such things are mostly dealer specific. You should not stick to only one dealer, try calling as many different dealers as possible and get knowledge on the ongoing offers.

Mostly free AMC (2 or 3 years), free insurance and low interest financing options come under the basket of offers and corporate discounts too. You have to ask them for a suitable combination of all these.

Also, the newspaper ads mention special benefit of up to Rs. 50,000, ask your dealers to bring the discount levels to Rs. 50,000 through any combination of offers.

See the latest print ad published on Saturday, it mentions 50000 offers on polo:

I am not taking AMC as a part of the discount. I already negotiated the best price and I wanted to purchase AMC from the dealer. I made it very clear to dealer as well as volkswagen customer care.

First question- you are buying petrol or diesel?

I called up my dealer sometime back to know the offer. Here they are:

1. Free insurance (worth around 15-20k, depends on model)
2. Cash Discounts -15k
3. Corporate Discount- as applicable (you can expect 5-15k)
4. Exchange bonus- 20k (if you exchange your old car, you will get the price of old car + a bonus discount of 20k on the price of new polo

He clearly said that they are not offering free AMC or free extended warranty.

Frankly, you don't need to buy the AMC if its petrol- the service cost will come around 5.5k per year and for two years at max it will be 12k, so why to pay 15k for AMC when you can get the same done for 12k easily? It is the fourth service that is costly for polo, and you will not get it AMC for 4 years under any scheme.
And believe me you will not need to go to service center for anything before one year/15k kilometers, not even for engine oil top-up. So, you can drop the idea of free AMC comfortably.

So you can avail corporate discount+free insurance+cash discount!!. Fairly good deal I would say.

In one of the thread, I read that AMC will cost you less as compared to the paid services. That's why I was interested in buying the AMC. Even on other threads my observation is that the service cost varies a lot from dealer to dealer.

From where did you get your car serviced?

You are getting good discounts coz mine was also around 40k. Congrats!
I have gone through many ownership reports, from which, I can assure you that your service costs will not go beyond 6k per service. My service bill was 5.5k, and that too for extensive running of 15000 km which can be considered high for petrol in just 10 months. Service cost generally varies for diesel polo.

I got first service done from Viraj Automobiles, Noida.

And yes, try to get the car body cover too as free accessory.
