Correct method to clean AC Condenser
The AC condenser will expel the heat from compressed refrigerant coming from the compressor. Condenser fan will suck the air which is behind the condenser. Over the time condenser fins will become dirty by road dust, oil, mud and chemicals. Some toughest dirt will etch in to the aluminium condenser fins and its very difficult to remove it. Due this condenser will not expel required amount of heat, so pressure in the high side will increase, due to this high pressure dual pressure switch will switch of the compressor, result no sufficient cooling, when high side pressure increases there is a relief valve in the compressor that opens up and releases refrigerant to atmosphere, you are losing valuable refrigerant unnecessarily. Condenser fan will run continuously and you loose fuel economy. Chances of engine heating problem can occur, in that case too compressor is switched off.
To avoid this, clean condenser once in three months with hand pressure sprayer and Pril liquid. Pour 100ml Pril into 2ltr hand pressure sprayer and spray thoroughly into condenser fins and wait for 20 mins and spray clean water until suds clears off.
The aim is to maintain new original condenser aluminium finish of the fins, if you do that you AC is trouble free. Your AC compressor will run for lifetime.
