Mr. Suryaputhra I must say that you have provided excellent review of an excellent car. There is a reason why this car sells so much. Any current updates on [1] Odometer [2] Fuel efficiency [3] your satisfaction level with this car?
The car's strongest selling points are below

1. Its engine, on the paper it is 84.3 bhp and 115Nm torque, but in actual practice its power, puling power pick up amazes you. MSIL engineers squeezed the K12 engine to its fullest and configured ecm excellently.

2. Ride, handling and suspension I hope many cited this

3. Fuel economy, after all these comforts this car gives 20kmpl at the speeds 100kmph full ac on and 17 in city with full ac bumper to bumper traffic.

4. Back seat comfort, back seat is well inclined, in hatch and suvs back seat is not well inclined, only sedan's are know for well inclined back seat. This compromised 20ltr boot for dzire but gives good seating comfort. Baleno gained 20ltr boot but due to flat bench back seat made many users complained of bumpy ride.

5. Air con, I am writing separate post on MISIL air cons.

My car odo reads now 5100km

1. VVT noise has comedown 85%
2. Suspension and tyres break in properly
3. NVH levels came down reason tyres break in.

As of now now wheel balancing and alignment I am not going to do it. I just rotate tyres once in three months that will take care tubeless alloys, until 25000km balancing not required.

Engine Oil changed at 1000km, Now I want to change Engine oil and coolant. Why I am changing coolant early, the reason I will write in separate post.

@akmalazim thank you so much, In my next post I am writing Wheel alignment demystified.

Hi suryaputra.
Your posts are very informative and I have been following all your write ups ever since I decided to buy a car.
Its wonderful car, have you observed its pick up amazing know, any way don't cross 3500 rpm until your odo reads 1000km. You can buy essar auto maruti authorized distributor for spares at siddaya road opp to urvasi theatre. Once purchased let me know I will guide you where to get the paint and get painted.

It is not outdated, from 2012 onwards MSIL has changed K12M engine three times, swift dzire 2015 facelift model uses k12MN type 3 engine which is more advanced with resin coated pistons and low tensions piston rings and new gear box. The gear oil change interval is at 160000km or ten years. The engine uses almost new tech spark plug and its change interval is of 40000 km instead of 10000km in older mpfi or k12m engines. It uses now current sensor on the battery positive cable such that alternator charges the battery whenever required. Completely new engine block, new engine head, new throttle valve, injectors and injector delivery pipe, new ecm and bcm and so many...., one can not go by age like calculating age from when it is launched.

I used spray under chassis with 20% diesel with 80% new engine oil using spray gun.

Hi Surya..

How often do you apply this coating in your car. I stay in Temperate zone, and often drive in Snow. Roads here are treated by salt and other chemicals to melt the snow, which in turn stick to the underbody.

This always makes me weary about the suspension and other metal parts as these salts do add to corrosion. Does your mixture help in this.

I vividly remember, one of our old mechanic used to apply this concoction to chrome parts of our bike during monsoon.

Cheers !!

Hi max_jeopardy,

In USA age old mechanics uses this formula 20% diesel with 80% new engine oil. I used to coat every six months. In your case use little thicker grade engine oil like 20W40 or 20W50 if this grade not available in USA you can go by 40 or 50 should be the last number after W. Don't use old oil. Try 30% diesel wih 70% engine oil. You may see some road dust adhered to under chassis after oil spray, but don't worry its just adhered to your protective oil film, next time when you wash your car under chassis spray plain diesel, it will wash out all road dust mud and everything adhered to chassis then spray 30% diesel with 70% engine oil. That's it you are protected. This oil film protects your suspension rubber parts not to dry out and other metal parts like ball joints, tie rod, tie end and chassis not to rust. This oil film coats into hard to reach places and protects that places like spot weld joints, butt weld joints, bolted joints and panel gaps in the chassis and spring seating etc. See the link below for washing style of my car. You can see protective oil film still there even after six months. But could not able to take photos during wash, after wash and spraying oil film. Next Sunday I have car washing session, I will post pictures.
