I got no reason to say this is better buy than Honda city. The pricing is just at par with Honda city. Do safe money is always with Honda city. This is just an underpowered car and I cannot find a reason to buy this avoiding a city. Just my personal opinion on the basis of pricing and watching the pics in many forums.

Maruti Killed all my interest in buying this car with kind of pricing they announced.
May be its not palatable to me.
Underpowered engine which gets outdated within 8 months by a facelift from Maruti itself after SX crossover launch .
Maruti gave a clean car but with no justifiable reason to pull customers from City or even from Verna. I thought pricing will undercut verna (after dealer discounts) by a good 50k to 70k . Eventually they priced equally with Verna.

Only feeding for Ciaz could be topend Dzire potential customer who may endup getting VDi+/ Vdi of Ciaz.

If Zdi (O) has waiting period of 4-5 months and hefty price tag of 12.3L OTR.,one should think twice before zeroing on ciaz why one should not get VMT diesel of City.

Sorry but I will differ on this mate, Ciaz is primarily a upgrade of SX4 and a totally new product. The ex-showroom price of Delhi is costly than UP by almost INR 20,000. Under powered is a figurative word in present but after the official test drive the perceptions will change.

As of yesterday the top-end manual City Ivtec 2014 costed INR 11,30,994 OTR in UP. On road price of Zxi+ Ciaz will not touch this mark.

2014 Honda City price list of UP as for 05th October 2014.

No one can keep everyone happy at all times. But it is actually a competitive pricing.

Wait for 6 months till the end of the financial year 2014-15. At present assumptions should not be made. I am not sure of Hyundai but Honda's sales of City will surely see some change.

Agreed! Dzire will face sibling rivalry.

Waiting period is just for the initial batch. At present all brands are having waiting of at least 60 to 75 days. As I said, let the performance figures come up then it will be good to ask the questions.

Booked a Ciaz ZXi automatic about a month back, hopefully should be invited for the first lot. Tried buying a C2 segment car for last one year. Liked the space in City, quality in Vento and features in Verna but could not excite me enough to book. Hoping Ciaz is a good buy. Only disappointment is that auto transmission is given in ZXi and not in ZXi+. Knowing Maruti, I hope all extra features/figment would be offered as accessories.

Congratulations to all who booked Ciaz.

Just noticed Ciaz website photo for advanced cabin features changed from 7" touchscreen to simpler D din system. The reverse camera view is no more in touchscreen AVN but in rear view mirror. Any info on that?
Congrats raag on buying the most spacious sedan as of today. Waiting for your ownership review so better post it quickly. Goodluck.

Please TD and frame your opinion. Do you know the variants of the upcoming S Cross in India?
S cross is speculated to have both the 1.3DDIS and a 1.6 diesel variant. Down the line Ciaz too will be upgrraded at the right time to match prices to competition.

IMHO Vdi and Vdi+ are priced better
Vdi+ is more or less spot on
Zdi and Zdi (O) price 30-50k Higher IMO,

Please throw some light on this
But If I need to Choose between City SV Diesel and Ciaz Zdi which is better choice
and IF i need to choose among Verna SX, Honda City V and Ciaz Vdi+ which is better choice
Verna SX is being offered to me at Rs 10,92,812 and Honda City V MT Diesel at Rs 10,97,118 and Ciaz expected OTR Vdi + Rs 10,68,618 and Zdi Rs 11,65,266

It all comes down to what you want,
If you want basic features and some distinctive bits, City SV & Verna EX make sense. Ciaz VDi is VFM version of Ciaz in my opinion. Then if you want every features, Verna SX & City V. All cars have pros & cons.
VERNA
Styling
Engine Options

Good ASS
- Dynamics
- Space

CITY

Good ASS
- Some Cost Cutting
- Noisy Diesel Engine

CIAZ

Excellent ASS
Good Engines

If I would pick one, it would be City for its Higher Pros & Lesser Cons

I had a chance to actually feel and experience the Ciaz at dealer launch. Though I was expecting a lot as I wanted to buy a City, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality Ciaz presented. The plastic quality is better than its competitors, its sturdy (just feel the rear air-con vents), the doors are large..HUGE and feel heavy, the dash is much more premium looking than shown in images. There is lot of space, a tall person will only go for this car in the segment. The car looks large from outside and alloys add to looks.

I was sold on the car and have confirm my ZXi (AT) booking with dealer. Came home smiling, so much that I lost the way and made a additional 5 km round. I was trying to buy a C segment car to upgrade my sweet hatch and I think my search ended here. Premium, spacious, features and nice pricing (I hoped AT would have priced 20K less though).

I suggest, before making any comparisons, just sit in the car once. I am sure Maruti will not disappoint me when I have TD in couple of days. I think the selection will be based on what you want: if you want a large family car from reputed brand with lot of premium features your family can enjoy, space (front, rear, boot), FE you will like this car.

Friends any idea why the pricing in Hyderabad for Maruti cars high compared to Delhi. Just look at following example.
Maruti Ciaz ZXI AT - Delhi - 934000 - Hyderabad - 973794 - Difference - 40K
Honda SV CVT - Delhi - 941000 - Hyderabad - 956000 - Difference - 15K (this is the range for Hyundai, VW etc.)

Just wondering why Ciaz is so high? Any pointers or may be mistake?
