Even the old dezire also was not that bad if you look at from rear. The side profile was odd (and was looking ugly to some) and they managed to maintain the same looks.
after much of brainstorming I dropped my idea of going after ,dzire,especially rear looks sore my eyes,so went ahead and booked swift zdi, which will take 11 months to come.But meanwhile am waiting for renault duster,if its priced right,will switch over again to duster....

Though looks are subject but I find earlier Dzire overall better looking from each angle in comparison to Indigo (Not Manza) as far as boot attaching job is concerned.
Have seen almost two new Dzires everuday during this week and I must admit (which is completely opposite sentiment on this thread) that I like the new Dzire for the way boot is attached. More so than the old version. I think the new version is better handled than the older one. Change for Good as they say
@gears
Vento is the best job in attaching a boot followed by the Linea

Yeah Agree! But these cars don't only have changes in rear/boot but there are many more change like increased wheel base, weight, power, rear leg-room etc.
But in new Dzire, its just an addition of boot with minor cosmetic changes in interiors. But weight is remained same as hatch version so you can guess how much compromise is there in the safety of rear part.

+1. And I would also like to complement Tata for this. They did huge mods with Manza & it is not just Vista with boot. Not only the wheelbase was increased, but even the dash is different. Manza is the best VFM entry level sedan in the segment & the price difference of just about 50k between Dzire Vdi & Manza Aura ABS QJet makes Manza even more lucrative.
I have seen the new Dzire in flesh & I feel the rear of the new one is better than old one, looks more like SX4, however the side profile of new one looks downmarket........it looks more like the tail of doberman dog .
The interiors are better than swift (I like beige) with some artificial wood thrown in. The boot space is just 100l more than Swift. But I liked the rear of Dzire than Swift. The new Swift rear looks more like police havaldar in half pants ......when I was small about 12 yrs ago, that was the uniform of cops.
I wish Maruti launches SX4 for the price just over 30-40k over Dzire & it will put charts on fire.
Got a chance to check out my friends new(one week old) "Swift Dzire Zdi" today,noticed the alloys are different from the swift zdi,as for the boot there is bit more space after the rear wheel protrusion in comparison to the hatch swift & height of the parcel tray area is higher.
But what was shocking was if you move the front seat to its rear most position there is no way the rear passenger can even squeeze there leg in,it cost him 8.5 on road(Bangalore) if i remember right,so other friends were speaking in whispers that they would rather go for a Manza or i20,as for driving dynamics i did not drive it so no comment on that yet(Although pedal area did feel congested in comparison to previous swift).But music system sounds really good for a stock one.
