I am talking about the roof raills of the Highlander which could also be installed on an Ertiga aswell.
There are no roof rails in the market yet for Ertiga.
There are roof rails availabe for Ertiga - two good ones that I know of are Rouf Rails and Goldsun. They look nice and cost approximately 15K. Not planning for now.

Please post a pic once you get your Highlander rails installed, if this looks good, 4.5K will be a steal for Ertigans and improve our automobiles utility.

Thanks.

hi guys !!

I hear a hissing sound when i switch on the ignition( though the noise is not heard in the cabin) and that still persists when i turn the car on. Is this normal..??
Archit - dont worry - its the fuel pump. When I bought my Getz 7 years back, the sales advisor suggested me to wait to crank the engine till the sound vanishes, however, he had no clue of what the sound was.

I got to know later that it was the fuel pump.

Thanks.

Yes it is the noise of fuel pump which comes when we on the ignition & will go off after few seconds. Nothing to worry as it is common in al ertiga's.

Rouf rail available only at Coimbatore is a much better option at 15K, it doesn't look as an additional attachment on the vehicle. Please refer my thread for photos.

Hello Ertigans !!

FYI please.... This will come as a very big shock for all of us
>> ERTIGA FELIZ ANNIVERSARY EDITION LAUNCHING SOON (ONLY IN VDI & VXI)<<
access this link attached for more info : Maruti Ertiga Feliz anniversary edition launching soon - Gaadi.com and this looks "AMAZING"

P.S : Just when u realized you own the best looking car in its class !!

[frustration]
That was just cosmetic appearance changes that I am seeing in the catalog of anniversary addition of Ertiga called Feliz.
If the existing Ertigans want to make their vehicle look like this, I hope its a minimal job. From exterior go for a body graphics being pasted, repainting the grills and fog lamp enclosure with silver paint and add on a spoiler at the rear end.
In the interior there is no big difference than having included a utility bag at the back of the seat.
Seat covers, cushions and foot mat are not that great and wont suit to everybody's taste.
So if Maruti is charging a premium of say 30K for this kind of cosmetic look I don't think it is worth to go for.
It seems Maruti wants to encourage buying the mid level Ertiga by restricting this edition to only VDI/VXI. The VFM value of ZDI/ZXI with alloys was already a known thing to the informed buyer.[embarass]

HI guys,
I am Taking my LUV,granite grey, zxi, to my village in konkan region, well i have 150 kms on ODO ,yet not done 1st service.I would roam about in various places.
Approx distance 550kms(from mumbai)
total distance travelling:2500kms

1.i am worried about my 1st Service Interval,i do have a MASS at my village,So is it necessary to get my service there itself after 1000kms which i didn't wish to do since there after that still i have to do 1500 odd kms, which might soil my LUV.

2.What sort of Fluids should i carry or do a top up at MASS(near my village),Specially worried about Coolant, what type of coolant do Ertiga have?Is it mixed with water?
Do i need to carry engine oil?grade of oil required?
brake fluids must be dot3,correct?

3.What extra care should i take, with speed and accelaration?,worried since i am taking it prior to 1000kms.

4.want a removable luggage carrier installed, please suggest some.

5.Going to install install philips relay kit,and bulbs 90/100watts (RS.1300),does it affect headlamp leveling system?

6.will be doing 3M under body protection after the trip,is it advisable,as a precaution before rain.

Check the color of the coolant, buy the necessary kind and buy distilled water to dilute the coolant. The coolant bottle and the user manual should provide you with the necessary instructions.

Brake fluid type would be mentioned in the User Manual as well.Buy some clutch fluid as the clutch uses fluid as well.

Changing the engine oil and filter at 1000kms is a good idea because the new engine has more friction occurring and this causes metal particles to get accumulated. The user manual will help you with getting the correct grade. You can buy the filter at any autoparts store or any MGP store at any service center or workshop.

Check the user manual for grades of all fluids.

Do take care about the acceleration.Try to stay below 100 kmph till the first 1000km service.

The best luggage carrier for the ertiga is the rouf rails one that has been discussed on this thread a lot.

For bulbs I will suggest you stay away from the 100/90 ones only because the plastic lens on the headlamp will become yellow and the extra heat might cause other parts to melt.If you do decide check the headlamp bulb holders, they should be made of bakelite(chinni Matti).Philips/Bosch/Roots should be good.

3m has two types of coatings. They differ in thickness and hence are offered in two warranty packages. One is a 2/3 year one and the other is a 5 year one. This is highly recommended.

Thanks for Your suggestion Mr.Jarpickle, actually i was in fixed mind about 1st service, but still i am worried about soiling the car after that cause after that i have return journey plus little bit feeling konkan, but i will work on it.
I have an option of servicing my vehicle at Saple service center(MASS) kankavli after 1000k,trusted cause ihave some 3-4 best experience there, and above all he is my relative.

I am looking for the luggage carrier immediately because i might be leaving on this 17th,so have a really tight schedule,as a backup plan i will goo for MGA luggage carrier.but i would be looking for a carrier which would be totally black in color like highlander, but don't know where in mumbai i might get those highlander.

Sir another thing about headlamps, not yet fixed.but my last car was having relay kit for 5 years no issues with blackening, yes they tend to overheat, but vision wise excellant.Installing relay kit will affect my headlamp leveling device?

About fluid i will check off.will get the full floor mat installed this week.

The headlamps do not blacken, the lens becomes yellow. There should not be any problem with the leveling motor. If the lens was made of glass then there would be no problem at all.

I am not sure but I have heard that the warranty might get void if anything is cut into. Please do check with the Maruti service station. They have a lot of rules that need to be followed. They threaten saying any modification done will cause warranty void.

If you get the 3M coating done the car will be fine.Just need to get it washed after you get back.

Is it really important/recommended to get the under body protection done ?

Can you throw some light of this?how does it actually help? and what is the cost?

I am not sure of the current costs.

The Paint on the underside of the car get chipped due to small stones and also the tar from the road sometimes sticks to the underside.

Most underbody coatings are a rubberized coating that prevent scratches and prevent these scratches.

3M offers two packages and they have yearly and half yearly inspections and recoating depending on condition of the coating and the package you have opted for.

Yeah it is important, cause it is an underbody anti-rust protection, but not necessary..i have checked some threads of 3M,done on a civic and new cars, which is excellently done.
It is in packages of 2/3 years and 5 years, from varying cost of approx 3k to 5k.It actaully depends on the thickness.Check 3M site for more details
