Thanks Bro! Welcome to our world and wish you a happy buying experience. My honest opinion on LUV:

1. Initially, the Turbo lag was so damn irritating, however, with time, I feel a lot of improvement. And this is just not a sense of getting acclimatized, I can still compare my driving experience with my Getz. So, it has definitely improved. And the adrenaline rush beyond 2,200 rpm is so amazing.
.....
That was a short and precise review Noida-Ertigan and being an ZDI owner for 4 months now I agree with each of your statement.
To anyone doubting about Ertiga's pulling power, let me give an example of mine. Recently I took on the ring road here in Hyderabad which is a 8 lane road with plantation divider between and which is yet to come into full commissioning, so almost no traffic on road. Hence it is a good test track for vehicles. With total 5 on board I thought of testing my vehicle on full throttle on a straight stretch. With swift change of gears and acceleration I could easily cruise at an incredible speed of 150 km/h with no sign of engine feeling out of breath and vehicle was stable with good road grip. The RPM was somewhere around 3500 at this speed. I kept at this speed for a minute or so and rest of the stretch was at steady pace of 120 km/h.
Basically I am not a acceleration happy driver and usually would prefer to cruise at speeds of 80 to 100 km/h on open roads. My Ertiga is perfectly complimenting me on this kind of driving style with little purring its engine.

Disclaimer: Please do not attempt this kind of speed on normal roads.

HI, can anybody answer to my queries listed below:

1. After clocking 400kms, it is showing an average of 12.5 Km/L in city conditions with AC . Is this normal? will it increase after the first service ? I understand that most of you guys are getting great avgs like 18, 19 km/L in city conditions. How is that possible?
I have also upgraded the tyres to 195/55/R16. is this the reason for low average? Though the tyre dealer told me that there would hardly be any effect on the mileage, max 1 km/L

2. Ther ertiga doesnot come with an AC Filter. is it ok ot have it installed when i give it for my first service or does it need to installed right away?

@Archit:

To find the correct average follow the full tank to full tank method.

The average will increase after the first service. This depends on how you have driven the car during the initial run in period.

You have reduced the height of the tire from 65 to 55 this will reduce the mileage a little, also the new tire is wider so that will contribute to the loss in mileage as well.Just as the dealer said.Increasing the height will increase your mileage but will have a negative effect on cornering and high speed turning as the tire will flex more.

Fitting the AC filter right away is a good idea.

Congratulations Archit for becoming an Ertigan! [clap]. Inform on the accessories that you chosen for your Ertiga.

Do not accelerate much during initial run in period of 1000 km and try to keep the rpm below 2000. Mileage based on tankful to tankful method is good a precise way of knowing the "kitna Deta hai".

Not sure on the AC filter not being present in ZDI model as I have not been informed by the sales person during demo while handing over the vehicle or nor did the service personnel has informed to have this fitted during last two services.

Nothing great spent on accessories, just got:
1. black art leather seat covers - MGA for 5K (better than default seats)
2. Interiori styling kit - MGA for 5K ( silver color) as the wooden looks very loud
3. Foot mats- MGA for 1500 (Black)
4. Door Sill guards from an accessories store for 1600
5. Plati alloys - 16 inch for 19500(set of 4)
6. Bridgestone tyres - 195/55/R16 (set of 5) @ 6600 each, the tyre dealer bought the original original tyres for 3K, so each tyre eventually costed me 3600
7. Total floor matting for 1500 (beige color)

Next, Planning to get Highlander roof rails ( the accessories guy is gettin those for me in a months time for 4500)- they would just stick to the roof and not be moulded.

fantastic review...covered almost everything..should be an eye opener for many confused minds about which one should go for. by the way how much did you shell out for your reverse parking assistant? the display is dashboard mounted or the rear view mirror?
Dear Willy,
I got the Worldtech Rear View Mirror for Rs. 3,800. It is mounted as a clip-on over the Rear View mirror. It also has USB to play videos so that the passengers can watch movies etc while on a long journey. Sure unsafe for the driver, therefore, I got a long wiring so that this can be removed for the passengers. It has a remote too which passengers can use conveniently while playing movies.

Hope this helps.

I also got my Ertiga Vxi abs few days back and loving the LUV,the petrol is so smooth and fun to drive. I am also planning for interior styling kit of wooden design, could you upload some of the interior shots so that I can select the design of the kit.

Dear Archit,

Can you help with a pic of highlander roof rails? Is this a brand or you are talking of Toyota Highlander roof rail? The cost sounds very affordable. Thanks in advance for sharing this info/ pic with all other ertigans.

I am talking about the roof raills of the Highlander which could also be installed on an Ertiga aswell.
There are no roof rails in the market yet for Ertiga.

Go through this thread and you'll find different roof rails for the Ertiga.Btw, I think you mean the Fortuner and not the Highlander.
