Sat in Ertiga-VDi today, and let me warn all those who think that stereo which comes in VDi has the same sound quality as in ZDi.
That was one of the worst stereo systems I've ever heard.
Expect its sound quality the same as in Cabs.
There was no bass and Treble at all.
One shopkeeper agreed to take that ICE unit for 7K from him.
He was in shock after listening to the unit in ZDi. :P

Yes,even my neighbour was caught yesterday but Rs 500 bribe worked for him and he himself removed sunfilm in 2-3 minutes in front of me from the whole car.
Isn't Chandigarh already very strict about films and all??
atleast I have heard so.

moreover I think the fine is 100 Rs for the offense. Correct me if I am wrong.

Of course it is! Sorry to use these words but here all traffic cops are like @ogs, they smell each and every vehicle standing on traffic lights and roundabouts in search of even a minute offence.
But after all this,
Hats off to CHD Police Department for Strictness & checks to maintain Road Discipline and sincerity and we rarely experience any traffic jam here.
Otherwise,Chandigarh would also have become hell ,as Chandigarh is the city with highest vehicles per person in India.
Accidents are also very rare now, only punjab's and harayana's drivers fly their vehicles after coming here and we stay few mts away from them as one never knows when they would turn right after giving left indicator. [roll] :P
And yes, there are some good corrupt cops here too! With the help of whom we save some money instead of paying ticket. [:D]

I read in a local newspaper that more than 300 tickets were issued yesterday due to tinted glasses and my neighbour told me that they were issuing him Rs 1000 ticket.

I drove Ertiga today for some 45 minutes during day time. friend's new car from Delhi. good city drive. just 4 ppl in car. Good hot day in Chandigarh. nice pik up ( diesel variant Zdi). looked all the way nice in Chandigarh, but i personally feel that the AC of this LUV is not effective[angry]. i couldnot feel the chill sitting on the Driver seat.[frustration] Disappointed. wanted to book one, but will wait for some time now. might Maruti Suzuki does something to improve it. My bro was sitting in 2nd row and he also felt disappointed with the AC.

one more thing i noticed that it lacks power while going up.it starts crying out loud on hills..[thumbsdown]..we had to shift to Lancer after 45 minutes enroute Kasauli. Gawdddddddd..there we felt what AC shud be like.

in my view its just a city car

Saby, in ur previous reviews u told that AC is chilling , but during those days the weather was a bit cloudy, now do u think the same with sun blowing heat wave..

awaiting reply....

I didn't take my car to any long route yet, neither on any hilly area.
These days I normally roam in city after evening, at that time I always have to reduce its cooling and acc. to some other reviews online, they've rated its a/c as good though not an instant chiller.
Might be going for a 600kms journey after a week, will post its performance in all the conditions then. :)
And yes, regarding driving on the hills, one has to get used to its gear ratios as after 2000 rmp, no one will feel lack of power in it. One must keep it in power band on the hills.

Guys, anyone has hints for this?

Actually i had to receive my vehicle Ertiga ZDI this month but now.....[frustration]

The dealer has called me on saturday and saying that their is a problem in the vehicle, due to which the delivery from the manufacturing plant has stopped especially diesel models. [ may be some vibration in the rear axle in the long drives] and i dont know to what percentage it is true[confused]

Most probably he is going to give your vehicle to some one other of known or so.
You can contact some other Maruti dealers and know that is really there any problem going on?
Its better to talk to the sales manager of the showroom and request him to give you your vehicle asap.

Can I install a subwoofer or a bass-tube in this much of space (135lts) ?
I don't want to show off, Even the company fitted ICE is good, all I want is little bass(not to shake the mirrors or leading to headache :P).

My budget is upto 10K, and I found some bass tubes, like of JBL with inbuilt 2 channel amplifier (I don't know what 2 channel/4 channel/mono means) in just about 5K. So does that means I don't have to spend any other amount on amp?
Or should I go for subwoofer in small box?
Which one will save more boot space after installation?
Is sub ok or the bass tube for my requirements? :help:

Few points to consider before I answer your actual query!!

The stock speakers in doors are not good for sound reproduction (means CRAP). Now, if you add a tube/sub and power it with and amp, then the sound stage will go for a toss as the tube/sub will shadow the mids and vocals. So, to compensate this, let's say you think of amping the speakers too, but this is not possible as at max the stock ones would be rated some 20-40 watts so amp would blow them off. So, to compensate this you pick a low power 4-ch amp, now, speakers are happy and sing well but tube/sub goes under-powered.

So, this leaves you with 2 options :

1. Spend now on a good set of components for front doors (say 5-7K) and decent pair of coaxials for rear doors (say 2-4K). Hear them for some time as even this change would be leaps ahead of your stock system. Then gradually add a decent 4-ch amp and power all 4 speakers. Then later add a sub/tube and power it in bridge mode (rears run off the HU now).

2. If you still insist on a sub/tube, then I'd suggest a sub as tubes are too boomy and you wont be able to enjoy vocals at all. So a decent 10" sub powered by a 2-ch amp would be good.

All above is said keeping in mind that you have no intentions of changing the HU cos if you thinking on that lines then it's altogether a different road to traverse.

Hope I helped.

So that leaves me with no other option than to keep the sound system as it is. :\
If I add a 10'' sub with 2 channel amp, will it produce bass just for good experience inside the car? Will it have affect on the speakers?
