Congrats Saby! I too have bought a Ertiga ZDI in Serne Blue. It's been 3 weeks and enjoying every moment of it.
On the tyre pressue - it's listed as 32 in fornt and 29 in rear for 1-4 persons. Does yours have 35 in rear? I agree that it feels like less. My car had around 38 in all tyres on delivery. I have reduced it to 32/29, but ride quality has come down. Will try with 35/38.
Hi vishy123,

Welcome to TAI & congrats for you new car! [:)]
Please share your initial experience in a separate ownership thread with pics of your Ertiga.

Since you are from Pune, can you share from which dealer did you buy? I am waiting for my ZXI. [frustration]

You got ZXi, Petrol with this price point, there can be two reasons: Either you have really deep pocket or very short trips[;)]

Wow!
Congrats!! [:)]
Try filling 35 in front and 38 in rear tyres for <4 people in the car and I'll go for 37 in front and 40 in rear tyres for >4 people.
Tyres clearly feels and looks less filled with 29/32, Idk why Maruti has recommended these figures, even my average came down with these numbers.
Did you try using AVC control in the stereo, which is for automatic sound control according to the speed of the car.
Even when set to Level-3, It didn't seem to make any difference. [confused]

Thanks for the suggestion. I still ned to try AVC control. With stero mounted controls have not felt the need.

how many kms did you clock and is it better than Swift and Dzire in terms of driveability ?
I don't think one can compare a hatchback with an muv, weight diff is about 800kgs, almost double of the swift.
I've clocked 790 km's and today my car completes its one month of ownership. :)

Hey!
Congrats!! [:)]
But can get it replaced with a good head unit, you can sell it for 7K, in the market.

Yes, even I've never touched the stereo buttons even once, steering mounted buttons does everything! [:)]

I'll be getting its first service done today.

Saby congrats for one month of ownership, my booking is more than a month (32 days). It's very difficult to wait, my waiting time is just like I used to wait for semester during B.Tech[frustration].

So what was your average fuel consumption with AC or Without AC? What exactly is AVC? [confused]

Ok here is my first post. Whatever the number given by Maruti for tyre pressure is recommended when tyres are at room temperature i.e after parking the car for hours. The air pressure builds up when you run the car for few kms. So it is always advisable to fill the air soon after you take the vehicle out in morning. We can always add +2 to 3 psi as correction to the recommended tyre pressure based on how much we have run before going to fill air.

There is always a tradeoff between the fuel efficiency and grip. If we go beyond the recommended tyre pressure(after considering the correction) the fuel efficiency increased due to less contact area but you would compromise on safety. If we go for less pressure than recommended then we would neither get good grip nor the fuel efficiency. So it is left to you to decide on how much you would fill the air [:)]

Thanks Ertiga ZMR.
I have upgraded from a Swift VDi. Was looking for a suitable vehicle for some time. Was not particularly interested in a sedan; Innova and XUV were too big (plus the waiting period). I have followed the Ertiga since the Auto Expo in Jan. From the initial pictures it looked like 3rd row would not be useable, however the AutoCar coverage of the Expo cleared that doubt. Read all the reviews from the media test drive in late March and this seemed like the ideal vehicle for me - 2 kids aged between 5-10, parents/in-laws/relatives visiting occasionally.
I booked the vehicle beginning of April. Took a test drive after the launch. The petrol was smoother out of the blocks, but the diesel had a better mid-range. Fortunately one of the first Ertiga's at the dealer was a Serne Blue ZDI and I got delivery on 24th April. I saved 35K [:)], as the registration tax in Maharashtra has gone up by 4% (for diesel cars) from 1st May [anger].
Compared to the Swift, I find the Ertiga much more refined. Very difficult to make out that it is a diesel. In fact a friend's petrol Vento makes more noise. The ride is softer than the Swift and it isolates most of the bumps. The Swift had a better acceleration, or atleast felt better (maybe because it was smaller). Nonetheless the Ertiga effortlessly reaches 90 Kmph, have not gone beyond yet. I am getting a mileage of 15.8 with AC in city. Am planning my first long drive next week after the first servicing. Will post the highway and ghat experience.
Regarding the interiors - they look great, but maintaining is going to be difficult. The 2nd row adjustment mechanism doesn’t seem to be of very good quality. Hope it lasts the distance.

Not bought too many accessories - Floor mats (free from dealer), Rear parking sensor, sun film and teflon, underbody coating. Reading some of the posts here, I guess the coating was a waste. Also, may need to remove the sun film based on the SC ruling. I plan to get seat covers, once the current ones get dirty. Don't feel the need for anything else.

Even I was following it up before Autoshow 2012.When I saw the practility of this I felt it is custom made for my needs. I was looking for occasional 7 seaters( currently we are only two in bangalore), relatively not big so that it should not eat much of my parking space. Having ERTIGA even I can think of REVA for my wife in coming year without asking for extra parkin as two wheelers can be fitted anywhere in apt.
The price is too handy and mileage attracted me like any thing. I dont like paying much on monthly basis rather pay at one shot. As this is going to be my 1st car( though Dad has Spark which I drove rarely maximum 50 km), I will not feel much of acceleration issue and all.I feel many buyer must have felt in the same way.
