This might be due to the location of plants of both the manufacturers. Toyota has a plant in Bangalore itself while Maruti Suzuki plant is situated in Gurgaon.

What do you mean M&M footsteps?
1) M&M had very very clearly announced that the prices of the XUV at launch are introductory prices only. so the price hike of 30-55k was justified.
2) the second time they hiked the prices of XUV is because of the hike in road tax of all diesel vehicles. M&M is not responsible for that, the Government is.

Ertiga ZDi, Superior White. Booked at launch time. In between had multiple requests from dealer to change to VDi. Another 2-3 days probably to complete all formalities.
Even Maruti had said that the prices are 'Introductory Price' clearly. Hence, the statement. Check copy below.

I am not comparing only about Toyota Innova.It was just an example. Please check all companies car rates for Delhi and Bangalore prices.They are around max Rs 10,000 difference.
But there is lot of price difference only for Maruti Ertiga(other cars of Maruti price difference is not this much)

I never expected two things from Ertiga:
1) That it looks like an MUV. I thought it would be like a bigger Eeco.
2) Pricing: 6L for an MUV. Thats bound to catch some eyes.

Here is a comparison between Ertiga & Innova by Overdrive.
Check the under-thigh support on 3rd row seats of both. Innova's seats being low give very less support compared to Ertiga. And I have experienced this.
