Hi Friends,
1) Does Ciaz have tinted glasses? or plain white glasses?
Old broucher has tinted glass mentioned, current broucher does not have it listed.

2) Is there any Glasss chemical which becomes part of glass and also prevents sunlight trouble? ie replacement of SunFilm. On the thread for sunfilm there is not much clear info on this.

Regards,
SaMo
Modern cars mostly come with tinted glasses from the factory, but that aren't enough sometimes in the scorching sun. You should shoot a mail to Maruti and confirm this. Since cars a coming with UV Cut glasses (Baleno) and Heat rejection glasses (Amaze), the Ciaz would most probably get a tinted glass at least.

Yes, IIRC, that process is called Nano coating (or something similar - micro particle coating?!). It would be a costlier but advisable alternative in the long run than magnetic curtains and stuff.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ciaz: Technical Issues and Solutions

I have a ciaz zxi+ and is pretty hard to downshift from 5th gear to 4th gear around speeds between 40-50 kmph. Seems the lever does not want to go in the 4th gear.

Anyone else facing the issue ??

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ciaz: Technical Issues and Solutions

Hi I have bought ciaz zxi last month. I am happy with drive. But couple of issues i observe
a) There is very slight squeaking sound in the driver and passenger seat
b) When i brake sometimes i get a slight thud sound. It is intermittent. Braking is very good however.
Anybody else faced this issue.
I also hear a faint sound near the driver seat seems due to seat leather in contact with the center arm rest..

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ciaz: Technical Issues and Solutions

Hello Friends. I'm new to this portal. Just want to mention some issues with Ciaz Vxi+ that I own. Its been more than an year now that I have owned the car.

Issue 1: major one this.. I'm a resident of Delhi and start-stop is a common thing here. I've found that whenever I switch the AC on and keep it on for long at the constant gear shifts between 1st gear and second, the engine starts to make some knocking sounds(as if two metals are striking continuosly) whenever I try to push the accelerator hard. It also feels as if the car is getting suffocated, as is someone's pulling the car back. What could be the probable issue here?? It Really pisses me off when this happens. The temperature reading is normal and my gear shifting is good too as I can see an average of 14.5 lts everytime.
2nd issue: As mentioned earlier, I have a petrol car, but lately it has started sounding like a diesel one, as in major sounds inside the cabin. Earlier it used to be quite quiet inside the cabin and you couldnt even tell whether the motor was on.
What could be the possible reasons behind the mentioned issues? I have used Maruti cars before(Alto and Swift) but, had never faced these kind of issues before ever. Please suggest. Thanks a lot for your help/suggestions..

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ciaz: Technical Issues and Solutions

Constantine,

Check engine filter & aircon filter. Also, at 3rd service, i asked the ASC to do a mini service on the car aircon (which included cindenser & evaporator cleaning) & cooling improved dramatically

For the sound thing, has outside sound also increased? If so, the silencer or exhaust header may have lost its seal. Have the ASC or a goid mechanic check & if so, have them reapply mastic sealer / gaskets as applicable in the exhaust system

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ciaz: Technical Issues and Solutions

Thanks a lot for the reply ameyam. I don't have any particular issues with the air con. Its just that whenever i drive my car in a jam packed area on 1st and second gear( for like half an hour) and try to speed up the car later when the road is clear, it does not seem to pick up properly..there's kind of a "pulling back" force. Someone said that there might be an issue with the engine oil, but, i've changed the engine oil like 4 times within 25000 kms of the ride. Also, there is no sound from the outside. As said earlier it sounds like the shaft is striking something..you know when you try to pull up your car on a 4th gear at a speed of 20?? Same sound.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ciaz: Technical Issues and Solutions

There is one issue i am facing. I have zxi and car is around 8 months old. now when i switch on the ac after i start the car in the morning there is a bad smell which lasts for around 5 seconds and then it disappears. it is more of a moist smell. if i dont start ac i dont have any such smell. I also tried recirculation mode or the frest air mode, but its the same in both cases. I suspect the cabin ac filter may be dirty. Does anybody know where is it located. I tried to check behind the glove box but it is not present. Or could it be any other issue. Dont want to go to service center

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ciaz: Technical Issues and Solutions

@enigne When Aircon used there will be condensation in the evaporator(cooling coil). This condensed water drained through drain pipe. But when you switch off aircon there will be leftover condensation in the evaporator and evaporator is moist. This leads to mold growth and leads to bad smell. To avoid this before switching off aircon switch to heat mode and keep it for one min, this will dry up cooling coil and no more mold. There are commercially available anti mold and anti bacterial sprays which can be sprayed.

Very interesting trouble, is this happens every time from jam packed road to clear road, if so I suspect IAT sensor or OCV valve. By the way which engine oil grade you are using.

Re: Maruti Suzuki Ciaz: Technical Issues and Solutions

Hi All,

I bought my Ciaz VDI+ yesterday in Hyderabad. Drove to Hyderabad airport today to drop travelling family members. Whenever i tried high speed in my VDI+ strange continuous sound was heard inside the cabin, and would disappear once i reduce my speed. Has anybody else faced the same issue with diesel Ciaz. Am new to technical issues with diesel cars. Planning to talk to my dealer tomorrow on this. Please guide if anybody else has faced similar issue.
Thanks
Is the sound comes exactly behind the aircon vents and just below aircon vents?, is the sound is like fluid flowing with air in between along with screeching noise, if so at high speeds engine coolant should pass through heater core, the heater core has very small passages, if air is trapped in the cooling system that makes that noise. This usually happens at high speeds. This happens in new cars or after coolant replacement. It can be possible if there is small vacuum leak in the coolant system. If there is no leak it will be settled by its own. There is a small hole in the thermostat to relieve air, it is called breeder hole to relieve air from the cooling system.

Is it possible to install driver seat height adjuster in Ciaz VXi model. Can the mechanism be fit on to the seat or does the seat itself has to be be changed?

I did some research on the internet and found out a few things.
1. The seat height adjuster mechanism cannot be retrofitted.
2. The seat itself has to be swapped with that from the higher variant. This may be expensive (Rs 20000-Rs 40000).
3. Inexpensive solution would be to insert hard foam material inside seat cover.
4. Another cheap solution would be to insert spacers(stainless steel or aluminium) using longer bolts either to the floor of the car or where the seat base is fastened to the seat rail.
Don't know if spacers are available in India though its a DIY in foreign countries.

The key is to find good quality spacers and longer bolts of the same specification.
