Another car with Fiat engine from maruti , this is going to the seventh car in their stable with the same engine! Wonder how long it will take for them to make the next generation engine? This has been selling from past 9 years now !
Why should one be bothered if you get performance and FE ? They can use the 1.3 or 1.6 or 1.5 as long as it is competitive in Price, Performance, reliable and Fuel efficient.

Intention of that post was Maruti with all its resources and being a market leader by a large margin is depending too much on a single engine. I was just wondering what will be their next step when the Euro5 norms kick in. Maybe we will get the awnser in the upcoming Auto Expo. Another thing drive all the cars powered by this MJD engine with the same 5speed gearbox from Maruti and they all drive in a predictable manner i.e turbo lag till 1800 rpm and then a sudden turbo surge that was what I felt boring!

Suzuki has released the booster jet 1.4L petrol engine powering S Cross in China and New Vitara for China and Europe. The 1.0L booster jet (P) will come in Baleno for Eu first and later for India.

In house development of a 1.5 diesel engine is in progress as speculated to launch in end 2016.

Hope that the new 1.5 diesel are not two celerio diesel engines combined into one! Or since Fiat india is also developing a 1.5 MJD , if this finds into Maruti cars then the same story will continue as far as diesel engines are concerned.

Why Suzuki not bringing svhs technology in petrol cars? Why only in diesel? Is this only to boast for the maximum mileage giving car tag? I see that booster jet petrol getting svhs tag then why not the normal petrol models?

They will ultimate bring in both. In India diesel is given priority since they will bag the tag line of the most fuel efficient car in its segments.

re: Suzuki's New Premium Hatchback Baleno Coming Up!Now Launched

The Baleno has impressed me the most among Maruti Suzuki Range after the Swift. The Old Baleno was a great car during it's time. Father had a Baleno & Honda City iVTEC for various reasons. I had privilege to drive them at early age & they were fantastic machines.

This new Baleno surely looks Premium. I am tempted to replace our 2011 Wagon R with this one. But some things like Swift like Headlamps, slightly dull front are a bit of downers. I expect Maruti to price it between Swift & SCross 1.3. October 26th isn't very far, but i have to wait for a Nexa Dealership to open in my City.

But booster jet engine will be launched later only. Maybe after 6-12 months. Reported by Suzuki earlier itself to make prices under check.
