Boosterjet is a turbo petrol as much I remember. Right?

In out diesel dominated market, I wish they have gone for a powerful diesel which can match the Hyundai 1.4 CRDi, VW 1.5 TDi and Ford 1.5 TDCi.

Just talked with Nexa guy and he confirmed, no cruise control, only 2 airbags even in top variant and 75ps in diesel.. Lol.. Premium hatchback, separate showroom.. I don't know what these honchos were smoking. According to the power for the car, it shouldn't be priced more than 20k above swift. All the competition has more power than baleno.. Now I feel figo was really vfm for the power, especially the 1.5L automatic.

Hoping Maruti wont get back to those flimsy build quality in the premium segment. Safety is number one priority for those who are willing to shell those extra money for the premium hatchback segment. Definitely it's going to affect the runaway success of the i20 and might push jazz out of top 10.

Good to know that MSIL is offering airbags and ABS as standard across variants. [clap]
IMHO, the power and torque that they are offering is really disappointing. They should have offered 90ps power atleast. [frustration] What is so premium in this vehicle? For me, this is a beefed up Swift with some additional features like telescopic steering, navigation system etc. It's too early to give a verdict about the product and i shall reserve my comments till i see one in flesh.

I guess since the car is lighter than Swift by ~ 90 Kg, I guess other than seeing we should drive and give judgement to the Baleno.
Similar views were aired on Ciaz and S Cross initially but its ride and handling in reality is commendable.

Exactly, my intention was to see, drive and get a feel of the vehicle until then i am parking my comments. [glasses]

Baleno is lighter by Swift? Are you sure? If then it will come below a tonne so which means better FE.

I would say welcome to the new leader of the pack, if the price it sensible i'm a Jazz and I20 Diesel owner but still say being a Maruti it will top the charts despite the engine.

Motorbeam have some comparison lined up between the premium hatchback segments and good to see before deciding on any.
Based only on engine performance and Specs, why isn't Figo hatch included here? Figo hatch gets 1.2 Petrol and 1.5 L Diesel too.

Because the price is lower than the cars being compared :p even if figo is a vfm product it will still be compared with swift and grand i10.

But the table shows on road Mumbai pricing, which means that in Delhi there wont be much difference and as of the Figo price-list with me, Petrol 1.2 & 1.5 AT cost 5L to 7.91 Lacs on road in UP and Diesel 1.5 costs 6.12 Lacs to 8.46 Lacs on road in UP. You are right I think, over here it seems, above everything else, size of car does matter.[;)]

Well the only variant now I'm looking at is delta CVT. Bcz Suzuki doesn't have an automatic in swift or dzire and the manual versions doesn't have any usp over swift twins. So the question is will baleno cvt vs jazz cvt. Jazz has paddle shifters along with all features baleno says. Both have same 5 speed cvt. Baleno misses on touch screen ice. Anything else?? So who is better?? Is this Suzuki calls premium..??

Both are very good cars, there will be tough competition between the two and expect Maruti to win if they price it well well. Apart from that the two are closely matched.

Jazz comes with a 7 speed CVT. And Baleno will likely have a 5 Speed one similar to the Kizashi.

Well regarding quality & premiumness, Autocar has an Article in thier October 2015 Issue and they have mentioned that Quality & Premiumness are definitely improved over other Marutis but definitely not segment best. So we should wait & watch for that. Jazz is definitely my pick in the segment at the moment followed by Polo & i20.

I am also interested in Baleno & will wait for it.
