Hey all,

Posting this for the third time.

My Alpha Headlights followme home function is not working. However tocar option is working fine.

Request anyone to check if every car has the same problem or is it just mine. Not sure if i am missing something.

Tried all options like turning off Guide me to car and turning on followme home and also turning both ON.

But nothing seems to work.

I can go to service center and get it checked, but just want to confirm with all others once before going to ASC.

@Chsrdeepu8, please follow the below instructions. I got this from the Baleno Manaul & its working.
1) Turn the lighting switch to the “AUTO”
position
2) Press the engine switch to change the
ignition mode to “LOCK” (OFF).
3) Pull the lighting control lever toward
you once and open the driver’s side
door within 60 seconds. Or pull the
lighting control lever toward you once
while the driver’s side door is open.

A week ago this happened with me!

My car stalled dead center on railway crossing, There was a truck coming from opposite lane who stopped immediately when he noticed his truck almost hugging my car. So I was there for almost 90 secs, trying to get my sh*t (sorry) out of it, truck driver came and gave my car a little push, enough to get his truck going.

This incident was really embarrassing for me, I caused traffic jam for almost 90 secs!

Should I blame it on infamous clutch issue or I'm a noob driver?

Usually because you are a new driver. However there are small pitsvin the ECU programme fue to which the car sometimes doesnt want to accelerate in first. When that happens, give a good amountbof accelerator and the ECU will wake up

@Ameyam, I kept parts catalogue some where so I could not able to give air filter part no. Part no for air filter is 13780M68P00, service manual will not suggest any one particular vendor.

But going for after market air filter is not advisable because it alters intake manifold vacuum, IAT sensor there by MAP reading+electronic throttle valve position and ecm, so the racers and rally people modify intake manifold, sensors and mapping ecm..

@suryaputra,

Not the cone filter, just a replacement cartridge filter. All it does is allow the engine to breathe easier, therefore giving a bit more in gear acceleration. It removes the need to downshift all the time. By increasing air flow it definitely does what you said but that doesnt hurt the 1.2 as i found out in the Swift. So why doesn't MS make the filter standard? Because it takes 2 days to service the filter whereas the ASCs usually want to turn aroung 100 cars a day

Hi. I own a aplha petrol baleno done around 9k.
I changed the stock tyres to 205/55-16. Original are 195/55-16.

I find the ride quality un acceptable. The steering thuds on potholes
..earlier i thought it maybe due to upsize i did..and hence i reduced the psi..
But now i see threads where seems baleno suspension quality is of an issue.

Any solutions for that ? Also what is the minimim psi i can go for a baleno ? 26 is ok

Thanks

Is the air filter part number for the 2015 Swift / dzire same as the Baleno? I mean MS must be sharing this part woth some other car, right?

The company recommend tire pressure is 29 psi for all tires but its for the stock ones, not sure how its calculated for a bigger tire. Yes, the rough ride quality is a common complaint among many Baleno owners, as far as I know there is not solution other than adjusting driving methods.

Suspension softens out after 5k km

The real issue with this car is insufficient testing. When i had just bought it, i had frequent stalls off standstill in 1st gear. It wasnt just me, even the driver had the same issue. Finally notived tgst putting aircon in auto was causing it and increasing fan by one from auto stopped it. It meant MS had not done sufficient testing on idle with the ACC. The problem went away in auto with winter. MS never accepted it

For the suspension, its very smooth on tar but very bumpy on concrete. I reported to MS and they told me R&D was working on it. Haven't heard from them since. I found out the keeping 28psi & after 5k km, discomfort reduces. It also helps if you have 5 persons in the car, prompting me to ask MS if they sold sand bags with the car[anger]

For acceleration, now that Suryaputra mentioned it, they must have done something in thr ECU at 2nd service. On two occassions in the week since service, i have rocketed past loitering cabbies, something i used to do in the Swift at will but didnt seem to be able to do earlier. Still doesnt have the spunky power delivery my Swift had with the K&N filter but good enough for daily use. Heck, most owners wouldnt even notice what i mean

When i drive, i dont feel the jerks in clutch release most of the time unless i anticipate badly. But my driver does jerk it all the time, he hasnt got the hang of it as yet. Its a quality issue but can be worked around

As i was parking today, the tyre rolled off a speed breaker causing the projection on the bumper to squeeze into the curb. The bumper has folded a bit & the underside has a depression. The paint doesnt seem to be scrapped though. I was able to squeeze the bumper back into shape mostly but the undulation has not gone. Is there a way to fix this? I think i had seen a videi where they poured hot water on a bumper dent & just pushed it back into shape
