There are lot of issues with the new baleno .
The suspension is really poor, car isnt solid enough , just the looks are good otherwise the car seems very light and bumpy.

I also get the same kinda dents on door angle , which seem like small dents from a bit far but when you touch the body nothing is there .

I guess elite i20 is a better option to buy ..
How many kms you have driven ? Suspensions are not that bad. Having done almost 1500 kms..i find the ride just better day by day. If you have bought it recently i will advise to run it for sometime and see. Also check the tyre pressure as I find 29 psi is the best combination in rear and front.

I don't find any dent's in any baleno which I have seen till nw. Not sure the one u had seen if its transportation fault ?

Elite i20 handling is not as good as Baleno. IMO.

Have you driven the Petrol Elite i20? If not, please do and then update if you found the i20's 1.2 to be better than Baleno's in any aspect.

I think you are ignoring a very important and integral part of the car, that is the engine. Baleno's plus point is the engine. Which engine do you have, 1.2 or 1.3?

These "dents" comments are actually motivating me to join a gym now! [lol]

Something surprising we observed on Friday- with two of us in the back and without suspension inserts, the ride was very rough. In fact, we stopped working on our laptops, it was moving around so much. I need to go & get the rear suspension inserts reinstalled

I think you are referring to sagginess of the suspension, which I had highlighted in my thread on the very first day. I think the problem is a characteristic of entire Baleno range as there has been no improvement in my car till now. The suspension feels very loose with 2 or 3 people on the backseat and suspension movement is more than expected. Even the current Swift which I got now has better ride at the back (not comparing the space).

BTW our Baleno crossed 3200 km mark today. The engine has become really smooth and free-revving. Gearshifts have become much better than earlier. There is some alignment issue since the car hit a pothole at 60-70 kmph. No damage to the alloy/tyre though. [:)]

Actually, I found the ride to be rather harsh and bumpy. My colleague was the first to give up because he couldnt see the screen.

I believe MSIL releasing Good cars are in their regular network example vitara breeza and equally or less competent cars in NEXA blanket to catch customers who blindly falls in to the trap so called "Premium NEXA" to get maximum margin hiddenly.

The Baleno is a good car and impresses everyone who drives it. Yesterday, I had this acquaintance who followed me to the field. As we discussed, he wanted to drive the car, so I let him and he came away impressed

Thing is, if you look at the Brezza's reviews, its receiving a lot of flak for its interiors, one reviewer said the Baleno's interiors were better[roll]

So lets face it- tacky interiors are here to stay. Light builds are here to stay. And going red with anger with the ASC to bet a genuine issue fixed is also here to stay.

@Ameyam Sometimes you defend the car sometimes you thrash the car. Baleno interiors are really good? so premium?.....

Suryaputhra Ji, hear from me. I found Baleno's interior quality to be less than expected. There is absolutely no problem in how the interior is put together, fit and finish is top notch. The part quality is itself very basic which makes the interior look un-premium. If you consider a Baleno Sigma or Delta, which come at significantly lesser price, the part quality is satisfying. To be true, quality is not the forte of Baleno, or Maruti altogether. Baleno will shine in the tesf of time due to the strong and reliable underpinnings, no matter how much one criticizes it for being bland/non-premium/whatever.

The Swift I got some time back (and your Dzire also) has a more lively cabin due to the different textures used in interior plastics. The dashboard edges have different finish, while the centre gets a smooth finish and so on. Fit and finish is not that great in Swift/Dzire but part quality at that price makes up for it. I would rate Baleno's interiors to be strictly at par with Swift. I hope you would agree. I am observing this thing from 2012 (in our Dzire). [:)]

What I meant was that guy came away impressed but we who own and driver it regularly know better...

ice_wise took the words out of my mouth. Its a nice car..just not as nice as the Swift was from teh get go. Interior is just ok, not necessarily premium. As a comparison, the Brezza is not that much better. Features are good. Safety is decent. Drivability is just so so. Comfort is just ok. Some very nice touches and some very appalling things in the Baleno. It really walks the middle path.
To compare, the Elite i20 has smaller cabin but better interiors and Jazz has a better driving position but equally bad interiors. I wouldnt compare a Ciaz or a Zest, those cars are in a different category. Finally, the Brezza is 7.5L ex-showroom Mumbai for LXI whereas I got the Baleno in the same price on-road. Serves my purpose for now and for some time to come if it stays together

Hi,
I am facing some problems with my Baleno delta.

1.Ride is very stiff, suspension is not improved even after driving 2000 kms. Driven the car on yamuna express way with speed 100-120 Kmph. and I felt it very bumpy most of the time.
2.Wheel alignment is not proper since i bought the car. It moves on left side.
3. Most of the time it does not start properly. I had to press the break and clutch very hard.

Do you have any suggestions on the problems? [:)]

Thanks

Mr.Abhinav

As discussed earlier in this thread and also after consulting MASS people..

1.Ride is stiff across variants...only way you can try for some comfort is...keep ur tyre pressures n 29psi and if u want u can add spacers as ameyam did.

2.Left side alignment is also quite common. It happens n my zeta also.It is more or less common in all cars for some technical and practical purposes as told by many technicians across brands.

3.Use only clutch and crank the engine and see.It might help or make sure if you keep the gear in neutral and try starting it again.
