Excellently done buddy[clap].Thanks for the inspiration.I badly miss this arm rest,i am going to order it ASAP and get it done on my LUV too.

=>Does it hinder Handbrake operation anyways,if it is pulled up or OFF?
=>I use handbrake in B2B traffic,is it possible to engage and disengage handbrake with arm rest ON?
=>It looks like a after market installation according to me at rear, what do you think about leather treatment from rear?[:D]

Fits perfect in the LUV!
Is it tough and able to withstand weight?
You need to remove only the handbrake casing or the seats too?
Does it hinder the operation of handbrake?
Yes, it is tough enough to carry the weight of the arm.
No issue with the handbrake and seat belt.
I cut some more in the hand brake function area of the armrest frame for smooth operation.

No issue with hand break engage. Can be easily use in city traffic. Just need to make it practice with the new system.

Yes from rear it looks aftermarket.
I will do some jugad for it.
I will take that issue during my seat cover installation.

Arm rest is definitely a must in the ertiga, just remember not to put too much weight on it especially the front part of the arm rest. I had installed the same model mine for around Rs. 1200 in Cochin.

Now I have seen recently there are a lot of new models in the market, some of them even have a cup holder at the back and better cushioning. The fit and finish is also much better and that too some models are as low as Rs. 700, maybe I should have gone around checked at various shops before installing.

Thanks, the center console wood finish and decals are part of maruti genuine accessories for ertiga. The console cost around Rs. 5000 something i guess and the decals for Rs. 2500.

Armrest is definitely a plus. I had installed it myself. But, one of my guest put his weight on it while turning back to talk to back seat people, and the Base platform of the armrest snapped off. Not sure I can get a replacement of just the Base. Will try and find out.

I am facing another problem. the 3rd row seat, which use to roll out completely flat , is not going flat anymore. Something is holding it so it lies at an angle. It is not touching 2nd row back so, its not stuck there.
Nothing seems to blocking it, but it still wont lie down flat.

Any ideas ?

The sliding mechanism is under the third row,
Did you check that area?
I suspect anything is blocking the sliding operation.

Problem Resolved. The culprit were the seat belt clamps. They had dropped below the seat. probably kids did it.

Somehow, somewhere, something of the belt was blocking something.
I pushed the clasps back , or rather pulled them up via the hole in the seat of 3rd row..and voila.. situation back to normal.

The same situation occurred to me when we took delivery of our LUV in 2012.
Those seat cover guys at MASS had messed up the 3rd row seat belts under it.
It took a sometime for me to solve it.

Update :

The 3rd Free Service has done for my Ertiga at 10,000 KM.

My LUV has some sound from rear suspension beam assy and I have complained it during the service. MASS has changed the parts in warranty. Now no sound from rear.

The parts cost was around 13 k. I got the information from the SE that Maruti has given them instruction to change the parts if any owner complain about the beam assy.

Note : LUV owner if you found any Tin..Tin sound from rear wheel/suspension on uneven road then please contact the MASS for a free replacement if your LUV still has the warranty.

I choose the synthetic oil and also done the wheel balancing & rotation.

The total bill was Rs 4,796 (All inclusive)

Now the car is butter smooth and hoot to drive. I suspect some increase in mileage too. [clap]

Current ODO : 11000 KM. [drive]

@Kalinga I too changed this at 10k service in warranty. The SA said if there is noise in suspension Maruti advised them to change this beam assembly.

Yes, i beleive all Ertiga manufectured in 2012-2013 have this issue.
Hope 2014 models do not have this issue.

Also got a news from the SE that a updated Ertiga with 3rd Row 50:50 split sheat, (Front Driver+Co passenger ) Arm Rest, climate contol and new twiked engine (petrol/Diesel) will be availabe by fastive season 2014. That is last quarter of 2014.

No idea if this is a rumer or MS really provide this with the updated Ertiga.

Hi Kalinga,

Can you please let me know which showroom in Pune gave that information. I was planning on purchasing the Ertiga in a couple of months but will wait if there is going to be an upgrade.

Could be the Mobilio effect [;)]

As of now no mods planned. My car has 4 yrs of ext. Warranty so can not mod anything till the warranty expire.

I have upgraded the headlamp bulb to a Philips EV with stock wattage.
Waiting for a good upgrdation for my fog lamp.
I could not find a proper replacement till now.

I will update the Wax review later.
