Yes..I am enjoying with my LUV.

Even i made it mandetory the seat belt for every passenger. My 10 year old son happily fasten the seat belt whenever he is in the LUV (for short ride also).

As of now, My LUV almost close to 15,000 KM in 11 Months. :)

Guys, I had an accident.

Moron Biker……
A biker with 2 pillion (Triple on bike) hit my LUV from rear when I was waiting at signal.
Rear bumper (Left side) took the heat . This cannot be repaired. The new one will cost around 9500.

Those biker were student of local college. They fled with the bike after the accident.
I managed to catch one of them and took him to the nearest police station.

I have zero Depreciation insurance cover. I did not claim any money from the bikers (As those were students with borrowed bike. )
Should I go for the claim or I will pay for the repair ??

But after seeing this, I feel it can be repaired at much lesser price. Try any local dent and paint shop.

had it been a damaged metal part, it was easier to get it repaired at normal workshop and you could have avoided insurance claim itself.
But now since it is plastic bumper in your case, i'm afraid you will have to replace entire unit that costs 9500INR per your information. Check the no claim bonus amount and if its anywhere above 5k, better to not claim the insurance as this no claim bonus keeps on increasing over the years which will benefit you with lower insurance premium.

I think its possible to it can be repaired by heat and special adhesive and then paint to give final finish.

I faintly remember about a discussion where 'plastic welding' was discussed to fix bumper damages. But I am unsure about how easy it is to find a place to do it, expenses, fit & finish. Please get second opinion from a local garage & get an estimate and also regarding options to fix before making decisions on where to give for fixing, whether to claim insurance or not etc

Hey kalinga, the new bumper costs around 2200 rs and painting would be around 2k if you do it from outside. And repairing it also is possible as the guys repair it so neatly that you will never come to know that ths bumper had to torn also. If you get it repaired from outside than it would cost you around 2.5k max to max.

Damage is at only minor part.
I don't know how the "plastic welding" is done.
I'm not sure about the finish after repairing either.
Try if you want to, else replace the bumper at local garage.

So sorry to hear bro . It feels really sad hearing about such incidents. most of the people on the road specially bikers are in a hurry always come too near to scratch the cars body. and they never mind this and in fact start abusing you as if it was your fault. worst if they get injuries and the poor car driver gets all the blame and has to suffer monitory as well as mental loss. Please look at the local garages and see if they can repair or replace the damaged part in less.

This the only reason my LuV holds a rear crash guard.....it saved me many times. Kalinga bro get to local paint shop they will fix it easily.

Sorry for the late reply. Loads of office work.

I did not claim the insurance. Took the help of a nearby body repair shop.
He had done an excellent job. Charge only 1500 bucks. With full rear bumper painting. (had some scratches there before the accident )
