Headrests should be available with MGP stores. As per my part catalog, part number is 86401M84530. The price should be somewhere between 350 to 400 bucks (For 1).
If not available, try placing order with MGP.
Awesome effort on the restoration Sumit [clap]

Just a quick question. The part catalog that you have, is it a hard copy or a scanned one? If it is scanned, would it be possible to share it?

Hi kashbaig, Thanks a lot.
The parts catalog is a soft copy from abroad (LHD model), but almost all part numbers are the same. So it does the job. If you can PM me your email id, i can share it with you.

Thanks Anand. Let me know when we can schedule a meet-up. I would really like to show you my Dad's M800.

Update on Sumit's 800.

Due to shortage of time, we couldn't do much. Still got the basic service done along with some minor jobs.

Early morning at MASS. Sumit's white 800 along with my Golden 5-Speed

Swiftshashi and Sumit have really given a lot of effort to bring their cars in showroom condition[:D].
Thanks!!

My car always got a bit more attention & care right from the 1st day, hence it always remained in showroom condition with original paint and all, Touchwood!!

Sumit's car is almost complete with a few minor pending jobs, which will be done in days to come.

Regards,
Shashi

25- years old maruti 800

I have a 25- years old maruti 800.My father bought it on 25th November, 1995 from his office colleague who has used it for 5 years. My father is an executive engineer in air india so he needed a car for going to his office. When we bought the car, the condition of the car was terrible[cry]. We spent Rs.10, 000 and repaired the car. That visit was the first and the last visit to the mechanic’s shop as for the next 20 years; it has worked very well and did not give any problem[glasses].In 2011,we bought a i10 grand, but my father refused to sell the 800 as it was his first car. We are planning to renovate the car.please suggest any tips which you would like to be useful.pictures will be posted soon[roll]

Hello mainak chattopadhyay, glad to know that you have still retained the old beauty. Please start a new thread and post detailed pics, so that we can give you suggestions on re storing it to its original glory.
Since the car is old, please check these areas for rust-
1) Front cross member
2) Lower part of apron
3) Upper cowl panel
4) Mid cross member
5) Entire floor
6) Running boards
7) Rear most cross member, Leaf spring mounts, rear wheel wells.

Any panel where you see perforated rust, straightaway replace it. If you try tinkering it, it will again rust, for sure. Each and every panel is available with Maruti.

Coming to mechanicals, You need to tell us the condition first. How much has the car been driven? What is the condition of suspension, GB etc.

Some new updates on Sumit's car. Unfortunately he is too busy at this time to post any update.

Issues reported-
1. Some noise from engine
2. Vibration from engine
3. Rattle from steering column on bad roads.

Visited MASS along with Sumit. Work done

1. Tappet Adjustment by SA

3. New engine mounts

Also some touchups were done where surface rust might show up

4. Lower control arms were also changed along with stabiliser bar bushes.

Result- Engine has become extremely smooth with no rattle or vibrations

We then went to a deserted MASS and applied some body-sealants on the underside of Sumit's car. This followed with a nice photoshoot along with my golden 800.
