hi friends,
Can someone tell me the part number of the bonnet button/ logo for maruti 800. Mine is broken, it is still in place but is broken. I have asked for it in all the authorised dealers in pune but in vain. Waiting for your answers. thanks.

Also , would like to know how is it(bonnet button) removed ?

The restoration work on the "SWAN " is very nice and good to see the humble maruti 800 back on roads with all gung-ho[:)]

Mandar, the part number is 72350M84100 - OPENER HOOD LATCH- PRE MODIFIED. The price should be around Rs 40-45. But it is less likely that you will get it in any MGP shop or MASS.
Try your luck at small and old shops which deal with car spares. Also some greedy shopkeeper can quote you absurd prices, if they have a rare part with them. Don't fall into this trap. I would say pay maximum Rs 100-150. (Still on the higher side).
For example- I was quoted Rs 1400 for T1 steering wheel. MGP ones cost Rs 400-425.

Its almost impossible to find a genuine MGP. We got lucky as we found a shop which was opened after almost 20 years. That shop was closed in 1994 after the death of its owner.

Try getting this one- Click to open

Dear Mandar,

Sushmita is on a road trip currently and will be answering you shortly.

The door pads cost Rs. 177 per piece, whereas the boot door costs in between 50-90 rupees(depending on shade). The quarter panel pads cost Rs. 45 each if I remember correctly.

Experienced automotive experts, good day. I am new to this online portal, However keep a tab on all the happenings in the car world on this forum. Finally I have become a member. Feels good. Coming down to the point, I own a 1986 maruti 800. On its 30th year I would want to give it a new life, since its rusting in places, and some of the interior parts are worn out. Need help from the experts who have restored their cars to old glory. I stay in bangalore and have decided to get the car painted, interiors replaced. Please let me know good painter shops that I can visit. Thanks! Here is a present picture of my car. She bone stock, running on yokohama tyres, she has clocked about 2.75lak kms, with an engine work in 2007. I love her! Would want her to gift her something special.

Just went through your whole thread. It was just splendidly written & the way it has been bought to the glory back. Was just wondering, how much money did you spend on restoring the beauty till date? It all worth it. Enjoy many more year of safe drive with your swan.
Happy driving.

Hello mandar7477, Sorry for a very late reply. I was occupied with some work and trips. Here are the part numbers for Door pads-
83710M84500
83720M84500
83430M84500
83740M84500
These are T2 door pads, The ones on the quarter panel are generic part, common for all, while the one on the dicky is T3 (should be readily available).
BTW what about your DIY on flattening the door pads? succeeded?
