Re: Mahindra Compact SUV Codenamed S101

Any idea on when is this going to be launched? Would they launch it this year itself considering that they just launched TUV300.

Re: Mahindra Compact SUV Codenamed S101

Spotted the XUV/KUV 1OO being tested on the out-skirts of Chennai yesterday.

Although being very small, the stance and proportions seem to be good to qualify it as a Crossover or soft-roader. The DRLs on this car were really bright to attract attention.
The driver of this prototype was trying various moves to evade our cameras (including sudden acceleration and braking), but we caught up. [glasses] I couldn't make out if was a petrol or a diesel model as there was lot of traffic, but the car picked up speed quite well. This car was being accompanied by a camouflaged TUV3OO as well, despite being already launched in the market.

One can easily notice the rear door handles on the C pillar/ end of the rear door (As those on the Chevy Beat) and slightly angular front wheel arches.
We also managed to shoot a short video clip of the car as it overtook us. But I don't know how to upload a video on this forum. Somebody help please!

Mahindra S101 (XUV100/KUV100) spotted with less cammo

Mahindra’s second monocoque-based product.
Mahindra will announce the launch of the Mahindra S101 sub-compact crossover (rumored as the Mahindra XUV100) this fiscal year. It will be the company’s second monocoque-based product, and debut a new 1.2-liter petrol engine.

The Mahindra S101/Mahindra XUV100 test unit sports the final production-spec headlamps, sleek grille, and clam-shell hood.

S101 spotted with less camouflage. The bonnet is very similar to facelifted XUV500.

I guess Mahindra will launch S101/KUV1OO/XUV1OO in Nov before Diwali. It will be best time to launch all new product.
Btw Mahindra declared that there will be 9 launches (including Scorpio or excluding Scorpio, don't know).
so 1. New Generation Scorpio,
2. New Age XUV5OO,
3. All New Mahindra Thar,
4. TUV3OO,
5. Mahindra Mojo (it's a bike from M&M stable so....)
6. May be S101/KUV1OO/XUV1OO,
7. New Quanto,
8. New Ssangyong Rexton is launched in other countries, Maybe this will fill this space
9. ??? New Bolero???? No news available at all
Not remembering anything, please add!!!

So we have TUV, tuff utility vehicle. what does XUV stand for. I am embarrased I dont know.

so now my question what does KUV stand for? Killer/ Kickass Utility vehicle?

Or that it seems to be based on the ssyangyong korando it is called KUV100? seems mahindra guys have run out of names ending with an "O" so have resorted to use the "duble Oh"

KUV might be called as "Kompact Utility Vehicle" just like the Mercedes had used word "Kompressor" for their car.

M&M's fixation and fascination with "OO" (Double O) had begun with success of XUV-5OO and that is why they named TUV as TUV 3OO and continuing it with KUV-1OO.

It may be due to astrology which made the mahindra to name their vehicles ending with Double oo. Like the Verito, Bolero, Scorpio, Xuv 5oo, Tuv 300, etc.
