Spotted the XUV1OO testing on the outskirts of Chennai.
Looks like a curvy WagonR or a shrunken Ecosport. Nice proportions though.
Notice DRLs, C pillar mounted door handle and the rear shoulder crease.

Adding photos from other websites like Team Bhp & Motor beam.
If mahindra priced it well & gave good features (specially Automatic transmission option like they did with TUV3OO) then Mahindra will get TUV3OO or XUV5OO like response from customers.

Wow these pictures of the S101 looks more muscular than the camouflaged pictures.
With these pictures it is more of the renault kwids exterior styling (muscular finish) but then still mahindra is more well versed in their 2.2 Lit. and above category vehicles.
Why wouldn't they replace the 1.5 Lit. with the bolero's engine and detune it for this particular compact suv with many trims like the duster or even like the xylo which has two different trims viz 75 bhp and 120 bhp.

It could be the weight and size.
2.2 engine is one Big hunk of chunk.
the 1.5 is specially optimized for smaller vehicles and is more efficient. However the performance of 1.5 even in new TUV leaves a lot to be desired. On my recent TD of TUV, the max speed of 1.5 engine is only 140KMPH. And it starts running out of breath at 110~120.
Unfortunately, 120~140 are the CRUISING speeds these days.
It could be the weight and size.

That's okay but Mahindra is more successful with the 2.0 Lit. and above CC vehicles and with 1.5 Lit. in the verito vibe, TUV, etc reduces the overall sales figures at the end of the year.

How do you expect a 1.5 ltr 80 BHP engine pull a massive 1600 kg car and deliver a top wack performance. The vehicle is too heavy for the puny engine. It will do justice for the soon coming monoque chassis XUV100.

The spy pictures show most part of the XUV100. But too many curves has made it complicated. Especially you look at the side profile, these is a huge complicated design over the front door which will be tough to maintain in event of a dent.
