M&M's S101/102 to have both New diesel and turbo petrol engines.
Mahindra and Ssangyong have developed a new turbo diesel engine that comes with a 1.2 liter cubic capacity, in a three cylinder layout. This engine will be available in two states of tune, 75 Bhp and 90 Bhp.
The upcoming S101 compact SUV, which will sit below the likes of the Mahindra Quanto and the Ford EcoSport, as a challenger to B-Segment hatchbacks will use the 1.2 liter turbo diesel engine in its 75 Bhp state of tune.
The S102 compact SUV, a product that will rival the EcoSport, and that will be priced and positioned above the Quanto, will use the newly developed 1.2 liter diesel engine in 90 Bhp state of tune.
Mahindra will also sell the S101 and S102 compact SUVs with petrol engines. A 1.2 liter turbo petrol engine, in multiple states of tune, is said to be in the works.

Wheels definitely need to be bigger/bulkier or maybe these are just being used for test drives but that can't be.
Definitely seems like a micro mini XUV in the making. Let's see whay finally comes out!

What Car is This? Spotted Today
Okay, It was an unexpected spot-on while, I was driving from velachery to tambaram and spotted this car at Medavakkam junction. I tried to get the front view of it but unfortunately, It took free-left at the junction.
Anyone know what car is that ? Looks like a hatchback / mini suv type from behind.
If you check the tail-lamps. They've designed it as 3 separated circles.

Even i spotted this car at guduvanchery while I was on my way back home. It did not seem like any mini SUV. It looked more like a large hatchback. The front shape looked more like tata vista/bolt but it clearly did not look like a bolt at the back. And since it was a TN registered car I concluded it couldnt be a TATA![[confused]](https://www.theautomotiveindia.com/forums/images/smilies/Confused.gif "Confused [confused]")

Thanks for pushing my post to correct thread.
I still couldn't believe its an compact SUV. the way it looked in real was more like a hatchback. The rims/alloys were terrible though. I hope they have something better at final product. But I still love those racing type of tail lamps though. Could be nice if its LED powered. But still I love it.

There are many vehicles which seat 3 people in the front - two models which immediately come to my mind is the Hyundai H1 and Fiat Panda.
