Why the tantrums old friend?
If the Skods, Fiats, VW can sell their "Premium" vehicles with underpowered, Un-refined 1.2L 3pot Engines, why the partiality here?
Damm theres even the obnoxious Celerio with some strange 2 Cyl engines which should have been destined for APE rikshwaws or Tempos!

If people can buy 3 pot engines in 7~10 lac catagory ( I am looking at you, Skoda) Then this one will surely fly off the shelves around 4~5 lac bracket.

Never a fan of 3 pot engines to be honest, Hate the celerio diesel too!
In-fact I hated polo 1.2 soon after knowing it's truck noise made while going upwards the road.

What I meant to say was, when the cylinders get upgraded, there will be less stress to engine therefore prolonging it's life further.

No wonder none of these,polo's 1.2 got award.

even my hyundai i10 is a proper 4 cyl unit. I'll avoid 3 pots as much as possible if I'm researching a new car now.

however, the trend these days is downsizing. one less cylinders means less weight, less valves, less.cost and often, less fuel used. And I'm afraid with our beloved government showing the wrath on large, capable engines the trend will only increase.

2L are being banned now. next year the fools May ban 1.5L. India already has pretty small /underpowered engines. this can only get worst.

also, god knows natural life on these 3 and 2 pots. I don't think it will be as good as 4cyl any day.

I still don't understand why M&M can't downsize their mHawk engine to 1.5L(or less, based on the pricing!) and plonk it in? Instead of the 2 & 3 cylinder madness?

I was shocked when I first heard Quanto was 3 cyl unit! With the recent news,I don't think M&M can sell anymore >2L engines(or worst, sales might dip), so what harm is there to do R&D in smaller, efficient 4 cyl engines and better petrol motors too?

Anand Mahindra, are you listening man? Give us something unique like you did with XUV. Don't screw us, when all others all already screwing!

mhawk is nothing but a name given to combination of technologies and specifications of an engine. I heard Mahindra is already developing mFalcon engines for small Cars..it's possible that these small engines are nothing but mHawk with 1 cylinder deleted and slightly reduced bore.

on another note. the big V8/v6 era never came to India . and now the fools are banning something as small as 2L engine! my worst nightmare would be Scorpio /Safari being powered by 1.2L 3 pot engines. 0-100 will take several minutes!

suddenly my 2.2 mHawk seems worth the gold.

The only V6 i've driven is Accord V6 and man, it was such a beast compared to what I've driven till that point. I wish when market matures, we'll see more V6/V8 engines, but based on the current scenario, I am sure no one will dare to bring it to india.

I am done with this fake SUV business somehow. I wish a proper categorization is made. This car doesnt look SUV from any angle. If you beef up a car like say Chevy Beat, that is what it will become. Looking at this car, I'd say that the Wagon R was already an SUV back then!

XUV, TUV and now KUV. What can be expect next? AUV50, the three wheeler (auto rick)! [lol]

This SUV madness is, don't know why, very well accepted by Indian public. Customers are not concerned about offroading skills anymore, all they want is some black cladding and dual tone bumpers. Manufacturers have got this and throw big black claddings all over their cars. Example, Etios Cross, i20 Activ and Cross Polo : What is the use? How good is a wanna-be butch UV of the size of a small cute hatchback? Sheep in wolf's clothing strategy.

This SUV madness is, don't know why, very well accepted by Indian public.
Indian Public just blindly accepts what is produced by the manufacturers and they don't have their own reason to go for an SUV. What the public people wanted is a car within their budget limit and nothing else except heavy discounts on it.
