What I fear is that Zica the much touted car from Tata will be dead on arrival. Mahindra are very aggressive in pricing of thier car, they had is right with XUV and so will it be with KUV.
Zica will not be dead on its arrival but it still captures lot of people and the Zica will be more popular in Taxi Segment due to its pricing in the market when there is less demand in personal/ private usage vehicle division.

Nice Share TAUREAN CZAR,

Found the interiors to be little bland, but liked the position of gear lever where it is comfortable for short drivers.

We are seeing a "6 Seater" after a very long time [:)]

The thing that puts me off is the 3 cyl diesel. Anyways this seems to be a hit.

But I guess Tata may not release the Zica to taxi segment right at the time of launch. they are trying thier level best to shed the taxi image. I guess we are going OT lets continue this discussion in Zica thread.

Auto Car India has uploaded the first set of clear interior pictures of the Mahindra's new compact SUV KUV100.
It appears to be at a dealer stock yard as far as I can think as an TUV300 is parked next to it. They may be the
display vehicles arriving at the dealerships.

Edit: Notice he hand brake as seen on Toyota Qualis pull and twist release type.

Nice post TAUREAN CZAR.

Interior looks nice & space for first looks very good in second pic.
But as always mahindra do something weird in their every launch. Exterior of KUV1OO got good response from everybody so they gave "Gas Stove Pump" like Handbrake [frustration]. Also why anybody need three people sitting arrangement for first row in Top End trip? At least they should have gave normal sitting arrangement for Top Trip.[roll]

+1. What they could have done is to provide 6 seat option only on base trim. This would have kept the cab fleet owners happy and given another reason for private buyers to opt for a higher trim.

I don't think that handbrake design is an ergonomic disaster. It is a matter of getting used to, and is quite unique from cars in this segment. I can smell "success" in this car, don't know why! [evil]

OT - With this, I complete my 1000th Post on the forum in 2 months flat! [:D]

I have a question:
Won't this center console and that handbrake jugad fiddle with the knees of the front middle passenger? [thinking]
Well I suspect the car to be on the same lines as that of overblown hatch. Now the middle sixth seat would be seat only for small child and definitely not the adult. But what the heck? Its six seater on paper and though not many are going to use it a regular six seater (it will be used a normal 5 seater car) but it has ticked the box during purchase and scored a point over competition.

That is the differentiation that it will create amongst the peers.

When 7 people can sit in a Fluidic Verna, then I don't think it will be a problem to seat a 6th passenger (adult) in the middle. Yes, his knees would hit the handbrake and console but who cares, Mahindra wanted one more seat and it did, it is upon the people to use it or not.

Never a problem in India [clap] The vehicle looks spacious from the inside, the full pics after launch might give the complete idea behind it.
