Some info about the W201 from ACI-
1) M&M sources says rendering is 80% accurate but actual vehicle is sharper with a more rakish grille & side profile has an interplay of multiple surfaces, unlike shown in the rendering.
2) This is M&M's first completely in-house designed vehicle.
3) mHawk engine is transversely mounted to maximize cabin space.
4) Daytime running LED lights are for US market.
5) 16" rims for base version & 17" rims for top end.
6) A new 'cougar' transaxle.
7) Cable operated gearbox with 5 & 6 speed options, developed with the help of Ricardo.
8) estimated price is 14L for the top end 4x4.
9) 140 bhp engine with a possible option of a
170 bhp mHawk engine with bi-turbo!
Definitely a huge move by Mahindra and this is going to be my sure shot next car and my first SUV after 6 months of the Launch
i cant say definitely, but i am desperately waiting for it. if everything is good, this will be the replacement of our innova.
The pricing is actually Killer for ~14lacs considering the features Mahindra is providing us in this Macho Boy.
I feel it would be slightly more than 14L. maybe ex-showroom price of 4x2 version would be 14L.
Only one thing disappointed me that the day time running LED's will be provided only for Export vehicles
Come on Mahindra! being an Indian company why we Indian's won't get more? I really really do hope that Mahindra at-least offers LED's in the top end model. Rest all is really exciting!
+100 to that.
@raj_5004: You've done a Fantastic job by scrapping out those details form the Autocar Mag. I appreciate your efforts form the bottom of my heart as this piece of information has made me extremely happy:)
you are welcome buddy. by the way, for the part marked in
bold- same here!
I really agree with you Raj, it looks a matured Vista and a typical Tata family car again! I too never liked the Aria's looks either from Front or from the rear. Only thing looks pleasing is the side profile view and some interior portions, even the Dashboard of the Aria looks bland.
i wont say i totally dislike the Aria but its too similar too the Vista, nothing new. Not so in the W201.
I am happy that Mahindra has got a distinctively fresh design,
doesn't matter whoever designs it
W201 is the first mahindra which has been
completely designed in-house by mahindra.
