Not at all possible. It would be priced well below 20 lakhs.

@ mukesh: whose the source?

in my case, a senior mahindra official told me the pricing would be 14-16 lakhs.

@ AMG Can you name an SUV which offers all the above features under 16Lakhs? Don you think 16Lakhs is very less compared to the features?

Am ready to pay 25lakhs for this beast OTR provided atleast with most of the above mentioned features if not all.

Yeti will not have all the above mentioned features , and most of all Yeti is not an SUV only a softroader like CR-V!

A new BMW will never cost under 25Lakhs OTR unless they are locally manufactured. But i agree if the cost of this car is going to go above 30Lakhs i prefer a BMW.

BMW has themselves said that

1: they will make the X1 in India.

2: that the X1 will be positioned below the 3 Series.

Well i know that AMG , but the X1 cannnot be compared to this SUV here. X1 is also again a softroader and not an SUV. And from initial reports it is said that the X1 is not a typical BMW with some compromises overall( Though still essentially a BMW , but a compromised BMW) and the spacing is almost on par only with the 3-series. Tall guys like you and me above 6' cannot sit comfortably in the rear seat , this was mentioned in the report itself.

Those who want an SUV will prefer the Mahindra and those who look for brand value will prefer the BMW only.

I mean, lets face it, the Scorpio is also a soft roader. So I see no reason why this should bee a hardcore off roader.

Scorpio a soft-roader? Its an SUV and the 4x4 Scorpio can very well go off-roading! And am so sure this is an SUV because i saw the test car doing the rounds near my college. It was huge and bigger than even the Scorpio.

The current scorpio doesnt have 4X4.
Only the Getaway has it.

And I dont call a vehicle without 4X4 a SUV.

Firstly, please get your facts right buddy.

The current scorpio does have a 4x4.

If it does not, then what is this-

the price of a 4WD VLX is 10.28 lakhs.

You may not call the scorpio a SUV & its not surprising since from the above statement, it is pretty clear you have very limited knowledge about the scorpio, its specifications & its credentials. How did the Scorpio win the Brazilian rally? Was it a 4x2???

Autocar India( says that the scorp doesnt have 4X4 except in the Getaway version.

And hardcore off roaders are such as Pajero, Montero, Wrangler etc etc.

AMG the current Scorpio mhawk Vlx is offering 4X4 i.e. top end version.
Both with A/T as well M/T.
Getaway is having earlier 2.6 Turbo engine with 4X4 capabilities..
Where as mHawk is 2.2ltr engine.

The cost of mHawk 4X4 is 12.3 lakhs here in Bangalore.
