Hi Balaji,

The TPMS has to be "trained". Visit a Mahindra authorized service station, they will do it.

Always get tyre rotation done every 5000 km from ASC. All the 5 tyres will have uniform tread. Mine is still running stock Bridgestone tyres at 80,000 km. I will always recommend that brand !

Hi Sudharshang

Yes i will be taking my scorpio to ASC for the TPMS reset. Allignment has to be checked for every 2500kms and tyre rotation needs to be done at every 20K kms is what the tyre shop person told me when i enquired about this.

After changing into newBridgestone D689 tyres, Today went for a long drive of 400kms round trip and i noticed that Bridgestone tyres are the perfect tyres for scorpios since i found out there is no tyre noise and road grip was very nice. Tyre noise is also very less compared to Michellin LTX A/T 2previously my car had those tyres.

I think it is the other way round. Check owner's manual.

Every 20,000 km - Wheel alignment and balancing
Every 5,000 km - Tyre rotation

If there is a puncture in any of the 4 tires, after the puncture job is completed, always get the wheels aligned and balanced.

Always go with what Mahindra says [cheers]

Hello everyone,

It was long time since i have reported in this thread. My Scorp was perfoming well these days only taking it for highway ride. After changing the tyres the road grip and handling improved a lot in the the highways while crusing at high speeds.
Yesterday i took my scorp for a family function nearby my city it was a 100km roundway journey. While going onwards, the scorp perfomed well there was no issue. and once reached there i parked my scorp and took my brothers maruthi swift vdi for casual drive since it is a new car it performed well, what i felt was the clutch was very soft compared to my scorp. Once after driving swift i drove my scorp and found out my clutch was bit hard to press and i am feeling the thudd sound while pressing the clutch, and it dosen't continues, sometime while pressing hard i am getting the thudd sound from the clutch pedal.

Friends why i am getting the thudd sound from the clutch ? and after driving the swift i feel my clutch is bit hard. y so ? previsouly i changed my clutch assembly 7500kms back ie during 1L km service. what would be the cause friends please help me out from this issue.

is it a thud or a kat sound?

if its a "kat" sound , then i think that is the propeller shaft bearing noise.
when the clutch is relased slowly, you wont get the sound.

if its the thud, i think , you need to get it checked.

Hi Superbad,

yea its a kind of kat sound only and that too while releasing the clutch i am hearing that sound not most of the time releasing the pedal sometimes, most of the times its normal only. If it is propeller shaft bearing noise it must have worn out or what ?

i have got the bearing changed under warranty. two times.
all that was precautionary though.
when i leave the clutch in hurry , i still hear the kat sound and its normal.

but earlier there used to be some jerkiness while releasing the clutch, which is gone now.

Hi guys,
My first post here. Have been having trouble with my Scorpio(AT). Started with central locking not opening with the remote key. Tech came home and towed the car and kept it at the garage for about 4 days and finally diagnosed the problem as MBFM(Mahindra Body Function Module) failure, which had to replaced and was done under extended warranty (which was due to expire in a week) and car delivered. Next day i noticed once the car is in motion the doors weren't locking automatically, so thinking this could be some error again due to the MBFM had it sent to the workshop after a couple of days. They have been tinkering with it for 3 days now and still havent diagnosed the problem and apparently now "check engine" light is coming on, and they say it is because ECU needs to be replaced. [frustration]Now by this time my extended warranty has expired. So in a fix now, could the ECM really have conked or could it be because of some tinkering to rectify the Auto locking issue?
Oh and the car has done just 30k in 4 years. Could the ECU really stop working so soon?
Any thoughts would surely be appreciated folks.
Thanks a ton in advance.

Hi there, I have never heard about this MBFM.

If there was a issue, they should have replaced the actuator along with the door latch on the driver side door.

They need to check the door latch in order for the doors to be locked.

Check engine can be due to the issue with vaccum sensors.

Ask for error codes being displayed in laptop, and tell them to share with you.

With all these questions, they cannot play with you.

Check engine should be covered in Goodwill warranty.

Keep the Customer care in loop, things should fall in place.

Hi Mukeshus,
Thanks for the reply. Yes there is a Mahindra body function module on the scorpio, which is located under the drivers seat and this is supposed to control all the body functions including central locking. They have checked the door latches etc... Doors lock with the remote key, its only when the car is in motion that the doors refuse to auto lock.
Car is still at the workshop for the 10th day today.
Thats a good idea to check on the error codes.
Will be visitin the work shop today and shall update over here.
Thanks again.

Niggles and Solutions for the New Gen Scorpio

It might be a bit Early to start this thread, but due to quite a few New Gen Scorpio Owners in TAI, I would request all the owners to contribute towards this thread :help:
Be it a Minor or a Major one, this sharing of information would definitely prove to be Vital to everybody.
So Please note down all the issues faced and share them with their solutions, if done in the DIY method!

Lets Start with mine:

1. The Display of the Infotainment system suddenly went dark with no response whatsoever, did not notice it while driving.

Solution: As usual got very upset and rushed towards my accessory shop because the ASS will not attend as they would say my warranty is voided due to speaker upgrade. i tried to restart the car several times but nothing happened, but while reversing near the accessory shop, suddenly the screen came On with just "Reverse Assist" and the Car logo.
Immediately restarted the Vehicle and Voila, "Mahindra Rise" [clap]

2. The cabin is Super Quiet, so any tiny bit of sound really gets into your ears. Similarly I was constantly hearing a thud-thud sound only while driving on the Potholes. Really could not identify the source at first but did discover the it was coming from the Left Side Passenger Seat, one of the Securing Screw was loose.

Solution: Immediately took a spanner, tightened the seat, and Back to the Super Quiet Cabin again.

I suggest to discus with Mahindra ASS. Again, have a check this repeats or not? You must show ASS if it returns.

Rohit,
Can you verify the front bumper fitting on both sides of the car and see if the gapsare identical. I can seen a visible variation in the gap on the right side compared to the left. Will attach a photo soon.

Roger that will check and confirm that.[confused]

@mathew
I did checked up with my contact in ASS and the electrician of the accessory shop, surprisingly both of them had the same answer.
They told that all the latest hi tech infotainment systems including the aftermarket ones like Caska,MapMyindia. Etc have Chinese hardware components which do tend to hang at times when you start multitasking with them.
Truly speaking I was upto some serious maltitasking now that they mentioned.[frustration]
I was talking on Phone connected via the Bluesense app.
Video via the USB was paused.
Searching for location on the Navigator and create a route.
Was constantly checking the TPMS because the tires were being deflated and re inflated with Nitrogen
But will keep an eye for the recurrence in future.
