hi mastersqual....

Yokohama is good for grip nd braking i heard frm my friend who is having S drive.

So enquired some delaers locally right now there are no stocks. So asked one of my friend to find it out from chennai..

Otherwise will go for Bridgestone Dueller 689 as Mukesh said.

I am using my vehicle like a taxi - 70,000 km in 3 years
Stock tyres - Bridgestone Dueler - still lot of tread left. Not planning to change till 1,25,000 km.

Some new owners complain of power window switches not working properly. Useful tip for them.

Daily or once in two days, operate all the 4 switches in the central console and 2 switches on the doors - roll the windows all the way down and up.

If you say the switches are not working, the Service folks will try to replace the power window motor !

A question to team members -

I am planning to use the vehicle till 5 lakh km with proper and periodic maintenance. Has any Scorpio owner (refresh or pre-refresh mHawk model) used this beast with out "major" issues till 5 lakh or more?

I am guessing / hoping it can be done [drive]

Any particulars to keep in mind after I hit 1 lakh km ?

Hello Friends

Today evening some idiot tried to take away the vlx chrome logo at the rear boot door of my parked car near my house. It did n't come by the first try of that moron i guess so that the idiot tried using a blade to take it away but the letter x from vlx have broke and it was on my bumper, as soon as he saw some one from my house coming outside, he left it and ran away with the blade too on my rear bumper. Luckly the paint dosen't peel off but the letter x left an impression and looks awful. Really frustrated by seeing this [anger]

I tried to get the new logo from service centre but the SA told that it is not available with them, he told me to get it from one reputed spare parts shop in the city, i went there to get but there they are having it but a complete chrome set of letters where they wont sell only the letter vlx. Btw the whole set costs around Rs 750/- i dont need the rest but i find it costly and not useful in buying the set for three letters for Rs750/.

So friends can someone know is there any of these chrome letters and logo is available online ? Please let me know even if it is availabe in some shops in chennai or bangalore.
Please someone help me in getting.

thanks
Balajislb.

Air filter is replaced every 40,000 kms.

It is cleaned based on the indication it shows near the engine bay.

But if you drive frequently in a dusty area it needs some attention for cleaning, using foam type sponge.

Thanks bro for the info.

Now what are the routine checks or service they do in every 5000kms, since i dont have service manual i am confused because last time during my car clocked 95000kms i left for service where the ASS did 1lakh km major service which includes oil change too . After that now it reached 1lakh kms, so do i need to leave the car for service now or can i leave after 5000kms more ie 105000 kms.

Hi Balaji, here is the bill when the Air filter element was replaced in my Hawk.

It was replaced at 40,324 kms.

Check the 2nd and 3rd entry.

Here: http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...silver-55-555-kms-counting-34.html#post139034

Foam Air Cleaner(Check the last pic in the thread) : http://www.theautomotiveindia.com/f...silver-55-555-kms-counting-35.html#post143217

Its better to get the inspection carried out.

I usually follow 5K kms service interval.

My freind's Mhawk has clocked 156,000. there is a bit of starting trouble and loss of pick up. the service centre says timming belt needs to be replaced and there is a bit of work needed with the engine.

Hi Pravin,

Thanks for the information. For any issues/work required, I usually consult the owner manual. We also have experts in our forum to guide.

I immediately don't go with Service Advisor's recommendations at the first instance. It is better to keep Service / Workshop Manager, Mahindra co-tech and senior technicians in the loop while performing any major work on the machine.

Getting a quote from another authorized service center for the same work and bargaining with the regular service center will also help.

If I find that service folks are taking me for a ride, I involve Mahindra Regional/Customer care manager too.

So far, I had bad experiences with India Garage, Victoria Road. Now, they are not operating there. SKS was fine and now Anant Cars are also doing good job.

As of writing this post, my beast has clocked 73,000 km [glasses]

In another forum, Behram Dhabar when he was with Mahindra, mentioned that customers usually don't cross more than 3,50,000 km (factory ideal max condition). I think Mahindra expects a customer to travel at the most to 25,000 km in a year. That is why the standard warranty is 50,000 km or 2 years.

So, 3,50,000 km will translate to 14 years of ownership !!

I know that many people are still using their vehicles past that mark. But they are older generation Scorpios.

Are mHawks capable of doing that ?

Hi, Get the relay and wirings checked along with the fuse.

That might be the culprit.

Philips Rally Bulb 90/100 from M&M dealership have lasted 3 years on my Scorpio.

Hi Friends

It was very long time since i am posting.

I have got new tyres changed to scorpio yesterday. I got 3 Bridgestone Duellers D689 changed and for the fourth one i took my spare tyre which is not at all used once. Before Changing the tyres the tpms was in blinking mode continously. So i used to click the left button on the inst cluster to see the tyre pressure and temp. So i thought changing to new tyre the TPMS will be normal, but after changing into the new tyre again the tpms started to blink when the ignition gets turned on, but it shows the exacts tyre pressure and the temperature of each tyre and the it blinks. So how to reset the TPMS ? the tyre shop person has no idea of this since its a new tyre shop.He even told me that there is no TPMS in front left tyre. But it shows the pressure for that tyre too. So what is the solution for this.
