A little correction : FE Calculation seems to be wrong for the last trip, because the needle just mislead me to believe petrol was empty. Actual FE recorded for the trip was 18.5!!!! That was simply awesome. I didn't expect such numbers.

^^Saarji that's the beauty of these torquey tall strokers. You can shift to 5th cog at lower speeds (Friends' Polo easily takes 5th at 35-40 kph and doesn't require to even touch the clutch on flat surface) and keep driving in a higher gear where others will be shifting a cog or two lower. 18.5 is definitely a commendable figure I must say (BTW I managed 18+ on a Polo petrol, hence you need to get 19 now).

While driving, I always look at the rpm and worried that my short bursts is going to reflect poorly in FE. But this is something which comes as a surprise to me.

19 will be my next milestone, but the travel inside city ruins the FE. At the start of the trip, till the first 40kms, the traffic was far worse due to an accident. And even on return journey, the last 40 kms was worst. I guess that was the main culprit. Next time, I better start early around 9am and see if it gives me 19!

I am in a search of a new CS, short listed Amaze,Xcent,Aspire (little worried about Aspire due to the sales figures tends to low).

Can anyone comment about the backseat comfort of Xcent, some of the reviews say it's quite bumpy ride ?

thanks

^^ Not bumpy like some pseudo SUVs. Xcent doesn't have either soft nor hard suspension. It is balanced. So yes, it will get bumpy but depends upon the terrain and road you drive along with how you tackle the road! It is nothing to worry about.

Well, I own Xcent, and have driven about 15000 Kms so far. Mostly with people sitting at the back. But i'm yet to hear any complaints from any ! Recently I drove from Delhi to Nainital, with my Parents sitting at back ( 3 people), and none of them said anything about discomfort at the back seat :).
But yes, as suggested by few others, suspension is not a great, but at par with the Cost we pay for Car. it's pretty decent.

Re: Hyundai Xcent S 1.2 - My Daily Commute - Owner's View

Guys, I have a long trip planned for tomorrow. Now my xcent is due for second service @ 18k kms. But I don't have time to give it to service today, cause I will be leaving early morning.

Please tell me what are the things I need to check with before starting the journey, except the usual oil level, pressure level etc!

Updating thread for 3rd FREE service details!

So gave the car to 3rd service a little late. It was supposed to be last month, but due to some work it gor delayed indefinitely. I should appreciate my service center, because they remind me on time and so I decided to give the car on 7th May. Since I had to go to office, I informed them to pick up the car from my home. As usual, the driver came on time and took the car after usual procedures.

Once the car reached their place, I get a call asking for, if I have any complaints. I just said no problems, and do just regular service, for which SA promptly said yes. They didn't pushed anything on me! After few hours, SA called me to inform that the thread in SA belt got torn and it needs to be changed. Since it make sense and can cause some serious problems, I said go ahead.

Car was returned at around 7 pm with abundant dashboard polish, but nothing bad happened!!

Overall bill amount was 3140 INR including A/C Belt which itself was 700 INR!!
Overall a nice experience.

Attached the bill and damaged Belt snaps!

Wheel alignment and balancing could have been done outside, its cost is too high ,here i do balancing alignment for 600 total.I also have free alignment check also after 1k km.

As I said, since I was busy for past 2 months, I simply don't get enough time to do that. So I decided to do it along with the service. But now that all free services are over, I will try to do it once every 5-6k kms in my nearby bosch center!

So my 3rd Service is due in next couple of months, I should expect around 2500/- expense. Should we let the HSS pick their own Engine oil, or does any one uses any better/different Oil ?

They will use what Hyundai suggests, but if you insist they can use your preferred oil! BTW Which one you plan to use?
