Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

my mind was all set for all these things thats why i went in for petrol or else my usage justifies a diesel.
The increase in monthly petrol expenditure will be 900-1000. No point crying over that 1000 bucks as it is when you go eat out in a premium restaurant the amount of taxes on that say on a bill of 1800, 400 bucks of tax and what not.

Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

hi nick i came back from jaipur i have filled the fuel with another bunk with repute and bang suddenly i see from FE picked up from 13-14 to 21, i drove my car most of the time 90-100 and sometimes to 140-160.yes changing the bunk have made a clear difference, one think i want to know that does wheel alignment and rotation of tyres make diff. to FE.Coming back to your question i dont have any major issues now yes times noise do come from steering particularly when i shift gear with low revs, a short of vibrating noise or when i drive the car with 5th or 6th gear with low revs but with higher revs no noise comes. One think i often been told off to put either the a/c off or put it the a/c on higher temp. as it is quite chilling.

Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

rotation of tires will affect thread wear, like if you do not perform the front will wear out faster and rear wil be okayish. alignment will hamper fe as well as steering as it did for me steering became thight with only a minor variation.
yeah my friends ask me to turn the ac of sadly there is no option to close the vent, my ac is always on the lowest cooling setting and between 2-4 blower level either night or day, except during rains i change it cause i dont feel like using public loos to frequently

Re: Hyundai Verna Fluidic SX (O) Experience

Hie everybody..

I have a Fluidic Verna 1.6 CRDi and it has run around 11K kms.

Now i have been facing some problems offlate:-

1. The clutch has been too tight from the time of delivery. I think that it has become a little more stiff recently. Are all Verna's coming with a stiff clutch or it should be very smooth? I had got it checked after a week of taking delivery of the car and the service in charge of Advaith Hyundai in mission road checked it and said that it is the same for all the Verna's.

2. The FE is much less than what i was expecting. I am getting a FE of only 12 kmpl in good trafficy condition. Mostly it runs in very slow moving traffic but still i think ideally it should give atleast 14 kmpl.
What is the FE others are getting ?? Also what can be done regarding the same? Regarding my driving, i previously used to drive my Santro(Petrol) under the same traffic conditions and i used to get a FE of 11.5 to 12 Kmpl which seems fairly decent for the kind of traffic it is driven in.

3. Sometimes when I change gears especially from Neutral to 1st / 1st to 2nd, it gets a little stiff and i think it gets stuck and have to use a little force to change the gears.

I had complained regarding the FE in the 2nd service and they said that they had done full tuning and the FE would go up, but it remained the same as before.

Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

welcome to tai and we are aware of all the problems you mentioned.

1. my verna is 3.5 months old. and the clutch has already begin to stiff. i mean normal clutches will get stiff after some time. it was really smooth before. don't know if this a problem.

2. the fe issue - you are getting 12 in diesel [cry] i have a petrol and i get just 8 in normal city traffic conditions. its a huge disappointment.

3. its there. its present since i got the delivery. on my 1st service they said they did something but its present still now. the gear gets stuck. don't know why verna is overhyped , there are lots of issue but still no one cares.

i don't even know if they do engine tuning or just tighten some loose bolts. i will ask them to do my engine tuned after my tank gets empty. lets see if there is any improvement.

Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

I am facing FE prob with me diesel Hyundai verna. My car is 5 months old and has done 4500 kms. I am getting a FE of 11 kmpl in city + highway. and on high i am getting 16 kmpl. This is seriously annoying for me. also What my feeling is that the engine is making a hhhmmmm sound with kind of bass effect at 100 km/h. at 80km/h there is absolutely no engine sound and things are totally diff at 100 km/h . All are diesel verna owners facing this ? more over what could be the prob for low FE ? should i get the engine oil changed? If yes which one should i fill in with ?
adding to this both the rear suspension of my car squeak over all rough patches when 2 people are in the back seat with luggage. Or even when when 3 people in the back seat.

Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

as far as my verna is concerned the clutch is super smooth no issue with it, my verna is already ran 15000kms but no such issue, i did faced the fe issue but i changed the petrol pump and it improved, my verna is now giving 17 in traffic and nearly 21 on highways. No issue with gear box either.

Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

@anant the verna has a hydraulic clutch which is why the clutch is pretty light and left foot friendly please remember that many service centers will push of issues saying its normal till your warranty is done, your gear issue seems to be like the one I've heard about on few cars they got their master/slave cylinders changed.
engine tuning only consists of spark plug, cleaning and gap adjustment/replacing, air filter cleaning/replacing and throttle body cleaning. Not much can be done to tune. Timing adjustments can only be done by pros with suitable softwares. Or else to reset the timing if its out they open the timing chain and reset all the pulley back to original markings.
regarding the fe try other bunks and see if it helps if nothing be firm with hyundai to carry out a mileage test.

jerkin you had fe issues since you got the car while hyundai said every things fine right? might check by changing fuel bunks and then going back to hyundai?

Re: Life with the All New Hyundai Verna

hey jerkin sorry i did not read about the suspension issues, looks like i have finally found someone who has it. Annoying squeak isn't it? Everythings changed still the noise is there. Came to terms that hyundai suspensions are actually noisy.

Hey nickandre.. Thanks for the advise.

I knew that Verna comes with hydraulic clutch so there is no chance of any getting it loosened like i got it done for my i10. I also checked up 2 Verna's yesterday.
1 was bought about the same time as mine and was equally bad. But it is generally very roughly handled and used by 2-3 drivers so i dont think its proper for me to compare with mine which is driven only by me.
2nd one was recently purchased by my cousin just 1 month back and it was very light and very smooth. Is it that recent cars are coming with a little loosened clutch. P.S. i am only assuming based on my findings in a couple of cars.

I think ill visit the service centre and check a few Verna's infornt of the executive to clearly identify the real issue and whether it pertains to my car only or its the same for all.

I tried changing 4-5 bunks but to no avail. I got a FE of 13.5 in the first few months but i think that it has dipped in the past 2-3 months.
