Re: OEM or Aftermarket Spares: What's Your Choice?

I own a 2012 Fluidic Verna 1.6 SX which has run about 42000 kms. Is it a good time to change Tyres. When does one need to change the brake pads for the disc brakes. Is it as per Kms or by time.

it depends upon your driving habits ! . 42,000 Kms, might just be a little early to change the tyres. Better to wait around till 60,000. Tryes are usually good till then. Else get a quick check/look by a service man, to get the better idea.

Some noise from the rear wheels of Fluidic Verna

Hi,

I hear some noise coming from the left side only, rear end of the car when I drive over rough road or bad tar. It's very low volume continuous cluck cluck sound, and not heard on good roads.

I have checked boot and car bottom for loose items but didn't find anything. Car is well maintained and suspension is good, no rattles etc.

If anyone has experienced this and knows what it could be, please let me know.

I'll be taking car to ASC, since it depends on road , I'm afraid they may say there is nothing to worry and its common. ASC is little far from my place and so I don't want my visit to go waste. Let me know what I should ask them to check etc.

Fluidic Verna issues

Hi All,

Today i have encountered a strange problem with my 2012 Fluidic Verna 1.6 Crdi, after i drove in a bumper to bumper traffic for an hour my car started acting weird. I came home and engaged reverse gear to park it. Then i tried engaging it into first gear but it wont let me, i tried pushing hard and after great effort i could slot it into first gear. I did give a little movement and then came back to neutral and tried slotting it into first and second again but its still hard. i turned off the engine and tried slotting the gears and they seem to be smooth, so i tried again by starting it and the problem still exists [frustration]. i still cant slot it into first. then i turned the engine off and slotted it into first and tried to park it since i had to negotiate a tight turn to park it i had to engage reverse gear so i turned off the engine again. Now my car wont even start. i called the 24*7 roadside assistance and they arrived after 30 mins. After looking at the battery they said it was time to change it since it was 2012 made and its life time is over. they tried starting and now to my surprise everything is working fine, Gears slots in position smoothly, we did go out for a trial run and every thing seems to be fine, As per them they have to open the gear box and check for problems if its with gear box or clutch.

Can someone help me with the cause of this problem,

Thanks.

Re: Fluidic Verna issues

hard gears is usually the problem of worn or damaged clutch. take the vehicle to Service & let them inspect.

Thanks for your response, but after a while everything seems to be working normal, if its a damaged clutch wouldn't the problem still exist?

Re: Fluidic Verna issues

then I guess it's air in the hydraulic system. is verna equipped with hydraulic clutch? most diesels are.

a simple bleeding of system shall help.

I did visit service center today and looks like its the problem with Master, and since the vehicle was in a heavy traffic with heavy clutch usage, it got jammed due to excess heat. however they said it wouldn't need immediate replacement and can be done if the problem arises again. Also clutch plates were weak too, they gave me an estimate of 4000 for Master and 18000 for clutch plates.

I did ask them for bleeding it just to make sure but they said it was not necessary.

Hard Shift are usually indication of issue in Master cylinder or Clutch assembly.
Since now you don't have any issue I would suggest you to keep driving and see if the problem keeps repeating.

I did get it checked at Service center and they also din't have an exact idea about the problem [frustration]. they said it could be due to excessive usage of clutch and high outside temperatures the master might have been jammed. i have been driving it for almost 10 days now but haven't faced any problem yet.

Also, i am planning to replace my existing Exide battery, can anyone please suggest best options.

Hii Guys,
I own a 2012 verna diesel as all of you might know the verna has a pathetic headlight throw [frustration] which creates a lot of problem while driving the car at night .
So i would ask my fellow verna owners what could be a solution for this.will upgrading the existing bulbs with high voltage bulb with relay kit work ?
