Hi,
I have checked auto door locks option in Grand i10/xcent/Elite i20 using G scan. No option to enable in these 3 cars. It is not listed in BCM.100% confirmed i checked in Hyundai service station.

S(o) is now SX with ECM update and SX is SX(o)now :)
Latest SX is missing chrome handles leather fittings, the cost is 4000 each in Front ad 2500 back side i got this from HASS.
I have a Xcent S(o) - got 4 Alloys and Abs added to S trim.

I bought the drls from Ebay. The mechanic fixed a switch near headlight adjuster as additional. Remaining are the same wrings.
I did PPF from 3M Nandhanam Chennai. PPF inside door handles,OVRM backsides, and door edges totally 4 sft. Price is 500 per sqft.
On the same day i did underbody coating(Rs.3500),silencer coating(Rs1000)

A car perfume leak(Ambipur) has disfigured the dashboard of my 10 months old Grand i10. A portion of beage layer has just peeled of from the dashboard. Hyundai service center has refused to repair it under warranty. The replacement part will cost around 2K excluding the labour charge. I am bit confused now whether to fix it or not

Get it replaced ASAP. Fit and finish is what the Hyundai cars are all about these days and if the finishing is gone then the premium feeling is also gone.

Don't want to spend 2k? Go for some aftermarket mods like black tape surrounding of A/C vents (weird) or maybe chrome surrounds.

I don't think it's worth spending that amount. If they disassemble dashboard for this work, it is more trouble. If you can paste a transparent cellotape, and live with it - that should be good enough. This place is prone to get soiled in the long run, and all these may not make a difference.

But it is a valuable information to know that such solutions can damage the console.

Hi guys, facing this issue for last few months. The NVH has gone up lately in my Xcent and it does irritate me. I know it isn't very crude and loud, but it is not silent anymore. I know I floor the car very frequently, but since I started listening to speeches instead of songs, I am starting to hear the engine noise! When I bought this car, it was super silent. But that was probably because I never floor the pedal!

Is it just my illusion or it really is increased? If so, then what can I do to lower the NVH levels?

Engine sound comes in above 3500 RPM, and above 4000 RPM it is fairly vocal. I personally like that feedback and the tone of the engine. It has a sportier sound compared to Maruti engine which is just flat noise. Especially while overtaking, it is a very good audible feedback that lets us know whether the engine can still give some more juice, or I should be shifting my gear.

If you feel there is a difference now, a very much valid possibility is that your head unit's speed sensitive volume level might have got turned off (or changed it's sensitivity level). I've noticed that specifically when you accelerate, the volume automatically turns up pretty fast. Not so if you sedately accelerate. It might be worth checking that. This setting is quite perceivable, such that co-passengers actually asked about whether I increased the volume. That's when I realized about this feature itself. While driving, we aren't conscious about it.

Thanks for the quick reply! BTW I know the engine get fairly vocal above 3500 rpm! But I am talking about noise coming at idle to 3.5k rpm range!! And for last few months, I stopped listening songs and started listening to speech. So it doesn't matter if volume goes high or low!

I'll better record the noise and post it here. Once I go home, I'll do that.

Now, let's say, if the NVH has gone up somehow(woah! NVH module gone faulty!! [:D]), what should I do to keep it in check. What are all checks I have to do/or ask SA to do! The major reason I liked Xcent was for it's awesome NVH and I don't want to compromise on that for any reason!

one suggestion to reduce road noise is to dampen the car. there are a few threads here of people using normal thick sponge type sheets to dampen car. It will make it really silent and also improve sound and bass from doors etc. The branded sheets that Audio dealers use will cost upto 10k for whole car damping.

10k!

Just one question! How can NVH levels go higher! What are the possible causes/scenarios where it'll hamper the dampening!

yeah some audiophiles spend big $$ to get perfect audio environment. A branded 4X4 feet sheet costs like 1.2k so it depends how much you want to use them. They also keep car cooler while keeping sound out.

Btw even my 400 km old grand i10 feels a bit noisier than when bought. Earlier never even knew engine was on starting but nowadays i feel the sound especially startups are louder. Mine has no Music system currently so no trick due to diff. music or something like you.

Now we need to hear it from Grand i10 & Elite i20 P owners. If it is the same case, then we can conclude Hyundai did some ugly job back there with their ECU!
Sir,

I own a Hyundai i20 sportz 1.2 petrol (2013)

I have a serious pick up issue with my car.
Finally, found an i20 owner who complains of the same problem. Going by the year of make it should be the same 1.2 VTVT engine. Just trying to tie up the two threads on this behaviour. Jairaj's problem is very genuine. The way I tackle this problem is to get the car to a complete 'STOP', shift to 1st gear immediately and fly off. This is much quicker and smoother. It is futile to wait and then realize that second gear can't take you anywhere and then decide to do a jerky shift to 1st. That experiment is what annoys people behind you. If I am following a crawling heavy vehicle ahead and a few cars eagerly lined up for an overtaking opportunity, the best course of action is to shift (smoothed out with generous clutch slip) to 1st while at crawl speed and stay on that gear for that stretch and floor the accelerator when we get clearance to overtake. For sure, the engine roars a lot during that slow climb, but it avoids a frustration at the end of it.

That is sad! I am following that 1st gear thing only. Anyways, already put up the car for sale and planning to get Figo AT. Let's see how much my Xcent can fetch me!

Hello Everyone, need help!

Just noticed that my 1 month Grand i10's (petrol) steering vibrates, particularly at idle. It is not severe at the moment but I feel a new car shouldn't really vibrate. Also, felt a little strong steering vibration at the traffic signal (while the car was at idle and I was waiting for the signal to go green). The vibration level reduces as the RPM is increased and/or car is moving..

Important to note that pedals and gear lever don't carry the same level of vibration though one can feel it there too..

Does anyone else get steering vibration? What should I do? Get it checked with HASS or is it normal with Grand i10?

Thanks..
