Guys, facing some issue with A/C. Need your inputs!

Before my recent 30k service, A/C cooling was really bad for last few days and it was rectified after service. Since it was not much hot, I couldn't test it extensively during noon time.

Now with Summer, I can clearly see the difference. Whenever I start my car the A/C performs OK, but over a period of time, it starts to deteriorate and after few minutes, it is nothing but plain air blowing at your face with little bit of chillness.

Before service, I thought it could be due to filter clogging. But after service, for first few days it seemed fine but with summer, the issue is evident. Now I would like to gather as much information as I can, before I knock the door of HASS. Please help me find out the issue!

Yes, i'm facing it quiet evidently for past few weeks. There is no chill and even if the blower is set at 2, it is not cold enough to cool the entire car. Had asked to check the AC at HASS in the last service (4th service, in November'16), they just replaced the air filter. Same situation as in your case. Probably we need to have the AC system checked (gas problem?). Air filter does not seem to be an issue.

Well, the first thing that I'm going to do is, check outside flap to see if it is closed properly. If not, it can also cause such issues.

If still issue persists, need to take it to HASS! [anger]

Just hope it' not the cooling coil leak. Do you hear a hissing noise as soon as you turn on the ac ?
If it's the cooling coil it will set you back by 5k which includes a new coil plus gas recharge. In my car cooling coil failed every year after 3 years of ownership.

I pray for it. I don't want to hear that in a 3 year old vehicle. Let me check if I hear any hissing noise tomorrow. Will update the status! Can I hear it even at blower speed set to 1? Is there any specific tone that I should listen for?

Yes you can hear it at blower speed 1. Turn on the blower , turn on the ac and you can hear it. If it's not audible you will have to check by going a little closer. If there's no hiss sound then gas is ok and there is some other problem. Also do check the coolant quality. If the radiator is dirty it too hampers the cooling. Have you done radiator cleaning in the past? (Taking out the whole radiator and cleaning it) your car is nearing 3 years , you should get it done if you haven't already.

I had the same problem few months back, and the problem was dirt clogged in the radiator, car used to cool fine but suddenly it started blowing hot air and i could see the temp gauze rise, there was some kind of smell most likely of coolant. The problem was rectified by radiator cleaning took it tl a local mechanic he charged 750/- and took nearly 2-3 hours. And on other note i find xcents ac weak.

I guess because Xcent has ducting going to 2nd row.
Same issue with XUV, 1st row is Fantastic, but till Air reaches 2nd row vents, Cooling & Flow is substantially reduced.

I listened to it while stopping the car in a quiet place. I can hear nothing but occasionally a slight hissing noise which happens in uneven intervals. Like I stopped the car with engine running for about 5 minutes but hear hissing noise only once. It was more like some fine grinding noise.

Then it is the gas problem. It will only come as soon as the ac starts. And hyundai's ac trips very often so as soon as it starts again you hear the noise. I read in your thread that you topped up the gas last month only.
It could be a leak from the pipes or the cooling coil. You will see oil deposit from wherever the leak is. Get it checked from hass.

[cry] It's the last thing I want to do. *Sigh* A/C is always a sore point in Hyundai cars and I thought they changed. But not even a little bit!

Hi,
I was advised by outside AC mechanic to keep the blower at 3 due to summer(11am - 4pm).

But Hyundai mechanic told cooling coil is weak which was a lie. Usually coolin coil will last for 2 to 3 yrs.

The problem is, it will just throw air and not cool the cabin. So it doesn't matter if I keep the blower speed in 1 or in 4! It just spits air.
